If you have no idea what the Ghoul's Forest is, your best places for information are here:
ZDoom wiki - The Ghoul's Forest Series. (http://zdoom.org/wiki/The_Ghoul%27s_Forest_Series)
And of course there's information right here at Cutstuff.net (http://cutstuff.net) ;) . Use the links on the left to navigate for the info you're after.
Still confused? Just ask.

If you signed in for this forum I think it is really unlikely for anyone not to know what Ghouls Forest is...
I hope anyway.
-
Well, there's also the odd chance that they don't know what the Ghouls series is. I mean there could be people who came here relating to ZPortal or one of the Cuttys other works. Though the general populace would probably be aware of what the Ghoul's Forest is.
-
I just had to bump this. Lol MM8BDM.
-
They're too afraid to know about it. Once they hear or see any info it's over. "yeah, and there's like this... flying, screaming thing.... and it HOLY CRAP A GIANT SKULL!" or "I killed the Creeper! I killed the Creeper! [faint screaming, not-so-faint screaming, scream of death]."

I'm brand new, just discovered Skulltag and this site, and while I'm familiar with .pk3 files and wads and such, I have no idea where or how to install GvH and have been trying to find a post or an faq somewhere with some information on how to proceed.
Any assistance here would be appreciated, and perhaps this information should be readily available?
-
Buy Doom. Download Skulltag. Put Doom2.wad into your Skulltag dictionary. Download GVH. Run GVH with Skulltag.
-
How do I run GVH through Skulltag, and where do I put the GVH files?

Right click. Open with. Skulltag.
-
I see, okay thanks. Although it seems to crash if I try to run it with OpenGL enabled. Is there a way to fix this?
Running Windows 7 x64, and I've tried running in compatibility mode as well.
-
Download the latest drivers for your graphics card. Ask Google if you don't know how.
-
My drivers are up to date, but thanks anyways I guess.
-
It should be fine, me talking here, since, it's stickied right? Anyways, do you need Doom 2 for this? Because I only have Ultimate Doom, Final Doom, and...uh one other, it's a classic one, but I don't think it's Doom 2, and I just say some gameplay for this, and I'm interested.
-
You need Doom2 to play the maps. So yes you do.
-
Oh hey, I do have DoomII. GvH works with the Doom Collector's Edition version, right?
-
Yeah, it should. The collector's edition is, after all, a collection of all the Doom games. :P Have fun playin Ghoul's Forest.
-
So, basically... This is apparent brokenness and more screaming than an inquisition torture rack?
Thanks anyway, but no thanks.
-
It's not really broken, except for Santa.

Well, from what I can tell, the ghouls have fuckloads of health, can kill you before you can finish having a heart attack from being so startled, the ghouls (especially Sjas to my knowledge) have drag-race level speeds powered by sunshine, lollipops, children's smiles and rainbows, and you're saying a holiday HUMAN class might be broken...?
-
Well no offense. Go play the game before you actually make judgments. Also not might be, Santa IS broken in the latest official version.
Nothing annoys me more then people complaining about something they never tried.
-
You'd be surprised, Humans can put up a really good fight against the ghouls.
Especially if Santa's on their team. That Snowgun can take down a Jitty in two altfires!

Yes, I apologize for that, but to be honest, I'm kind of compensating for a lack of balls, for lack of a more self-depreciative way of saying it. I'm just overreactive to jump scares, is all. So... Sorry for the waste of time. I'll leave you alone. You have more guts than I do concerning this type of thing.

Requirements to play GVH:
12 testicals,
4 ovaries,
A computer that can run Doom.
Is it so hard to possess those things?

Dammit. Guess I'll need to roll around in some more of that radioactive slime to grow the things on that list I don't have, then?
I only got the extra head out of it, and he's kinda starting to mutiny against me--MARK SUCKS DICKS DON'T LISTEN TO HIm

I still haven't played anything other than MM8BDM.
Is Ghoul's Forest a lot of fun?

Maybe Ghoul's Forest gets boring after playing it a certain number of times. But Ghouls Vs. Humans is always fun, even more with many players. For me it's fun when I'm a ghoul, or as human, when I sometimes kill with obvious skills (like throwing blindly a bouncing grenade from so far) sometimes I have nice highlights :D
-
Yes ghouls forest is alot of fun and now to think of it I might do a fan made forbidden forest 3 using some movemt of the ghouls
-
I downloaded Ghoul's Vs. Humans but I can't play it.
I just see a few .pk3's.

You need Doom 2 and Skulltag downloaded.
-
Oh!
I see.
Well, why do you need that for this and not for MM8BDM?
-
GVH, Ghouls forest 1 to 3, and many, many other non MM8BDM wads/pk3's/mods require doom2 to play. Doom2.wad is the most commonly used iwad for Skulltag (though it supports others, including custom ones like MM8BDM's iwad-ish file). Dont expect to run any other mods without an appropiate iwad. Mind you in case you ask where to get it its unfortunately illegal, though if you happen to have an old Doom CD around or something its all fine to get it from there.
I do believe there is something called freedoom that can be used as an iwad to replace doom, though it will probaly not give the desired looks and doesnt really represent doom, still, assuming its legal naming it doom2.wad and starting up a mod should work. Just dont be suprised at an map's seemingly akward texture choice, i assume.
-
To be more exact. GvH uses resources from Doom2. As does a majority of wads and mods. Also, MM8BDM didn't even exist when GvH was made.
-
Is possible to update Ghoul's Forest download link???
-
I could probaly edit the first post but no idea if he wants me to, but i will post some links i found on wadhost. I havent checked them though, if they are the GF series 1 to 3.
http://wadhost.fathax.com/files/ghoul.zip (http://wadhost.fathax.com/files/ghoul.zip)
http://wadhost.fathax.com/files/ghoul2.zip (http://wadhost.fathax.com/files/ghoul2.zip)
http://wadhost.fathax.com/files/ghoul3.zip (http://wadhost.fathax.com/files/ghoul3.zip)
Do wish Cutman would bring back some of the GVH pages like classes backstories and information and of course various addons and download links, but who knows...
-
Hmm... This looks fun. 0:
If I have the balls to play Amnesia: The Dark Descent, then this shouldn't be so bad.
-
Holy shit, Mike! You made this? I saw PewDiePie play the 3rd one!
-
Too bad he never seemingly finished it, would have loved to see his reaction to the good ol dead baby pictures and whatnot the Yurei basically mind-rapes her victims to death with.
-
I wish ghouls will added in Saxton Hale too
