I don't listen to rap too much (like all genres), but I do like it, if done right.

I can't stop listening to "Fuck the Police" though.

It's a damn shame to see this thread neglected, so I hope you don't mind me tossing out a recommendation of my own!

Panacea; hands down one of my favorite hip-hop groups, period. Amazing beats, smooth flow, with a great roster of relaxed songs with clever--and sometimes poignant--lyrics. Everyone should give them a look!

Also, their album 12 Step Program is hands-down one of the best hip-hop albums I've ever heard.

I'd be surprised if at least one person here hasn't heard of Random, AKA Mega Ran. He's an (incredible) underground rapper known for doing "gamer rap" albums, including the Mega Ran concept albums...

And probably one of his most well-known tracks...

Oh yeah, I've heard his tracks. The Splash Woman one really opened the door for his other songs to reach my ears.

Really good stuff.

I guess the main thing that caught my audio receptors about rap is the rhythm but then it all comes together, some people say rap is horrible but it can be like any other rock or jazz song just with a different beat , it's called remixes.

I don't always listen to rap/hip-hop...

But when I do, I listen to Nujabes.

You might know him from classics like this, from Samurai Champloo. I'll be honest and say I haven't liked a whole bunch of rap... but Jun's music just has a kind of magic that makes it special.
