Title: Fun computor games
Post by: Dingodile64 on October 23, 2010, 02:41:21 PM
I thougth i would make a post about some games that i think need more attention that are on the computor.
NOTE: i didn't make these games.
Super Mario Crossover
Made by exploding rabbit its the complet first mario game but with other playable charecteur such as, megaman(Megaman), simon belmont(castlevania), samus(metroid) and a couple others. you play it on the web so you dont even need to downloade it. to play go to this website http://www.explodingrabbit.com/games/su ... -crossover (http://www.explodingrabbit.com/games/super-mario-bros-crossover)

Sonic fan remix
It may be just a trial rigth now with only three lvls i say to check it out anyway. This game is a remake of sonic 2 with 3d graphics developed by pelikan13 and Mercury. You need to download this one, you can do that here  http://sonicfanremix.com/ (http://sonicfanremix.com/)

I may add more if i find any.
feel free to show other games you find fun on the computor.

I agree with DTD, but I played as Contra dude instead, cos contra was a good game which later changed to Contra: hard corps, and then it sold in Asia/pacific as Probotector and epic sonic 2 remake (I still play it now and then)

Ugh, Sonic fan remix...

Game itself is nice looking, but they rrrrreally over did it with those graphics that "seeing" whats in front of you is the real challenge factor instead of the stage set up, that and it lags like hell without a good computer. Other than that, it's pretty decent.

I can't see it getting very far without Sega stepping in and ending it's fun run

Actually I think people may like this one...

Yup thats right, a freaking showdown against Rock and Samus Aran. Probably the biggest showdown everyone has been looking forward to for years. Just like the Mario crossover, you can find this on Newgrounds too :p

Didn't that guy also make a Ghost and Goblins/Megaman crossover game too?

Most of you would probably call these a fail.

Uberstrike (AKA Paradise Paintball):http://uberstrike.cmune.com/

Dragonfable:http://dragonfable.com/

Phosphor (still in Beta):http://www2.rasterwerks.com/game/phosphor/beta2.asp

& finally, Quake Live:http://www.quakelive.com/#!home

Please note that all of these games are (err...sorta?) FREE.

Dragonfable:http://dragonfable.com/
Dragonfable is like any other online RPG, it's fun only if your willing to dedicate yourself to grinding and completing quests multiple times for stuff. I used to play this back in high school but stopped when the tedium got to me ((same with Adventure Quest... and GOD.. Mech Quest    ...and I have a lot to say about Mech Quest back when it was new and all...))

After getting used to computer controls it gets enjoyable, thats all I can really say about it. And like any other shooter, the appeal lasts only as much as your enjoyment towards it.

Dragonfable's weak spot involved HAVING to pay just to get better quality items and pray to survive against high critical or status spammer enemies. Not sure how it is today but it's probably the same old "HEY GET THIS CRAP NOW!! IT'S SUPA POWERFUL!! oh wait your not a *insert high status premium name here* so you can't buy it with gold. BUT FRET NOT!! EVEN IF YOUR NOT A *insert high status premium name here* YOU CAN STILL GET IT!! But you still need to be a *insert high status premium name here* to use it...

Regardless, the whole "1-time payment" is still worth it, so long as you intent to stay playing it. Just don't bother with AQ worlds. I could care less about what it accessed to me, but if you have to PAY just to chat than I may as well P2P for the entire thing... which ain't much...

I used to play DragonFable... and AdventureQuest... and MechQuest... and AdventureQuest Worlds...

A lot of my gaming history is on the computer!

the only PC EXCLUSIVES i have are my tycoon games.[I have a lot of PC games] I don't play them often, but when i do it's for days on end.
Roller coaster tycoons 2 and 3
Zoo tycoon
mall tycoon [this ones not too good, but still]

Some people would call Neopets, which I use, a game. It KINDA is and KINDA isn't....

Edit: Cave Story is native to the PC[though it's on wiiware now...]. Also classic Infocom adventures like Zork and Planetfall.

Oh, God, not Mall Tycoon.  My copy of the game would randomly just quit without warning.  I went online and found out it was a very common glitch.  I'd have to save every minute because it would crash so frequently.

I wish my computer were capable of running RCT3 well, but it can't.  RCT2 is amazing, I still love it to this day.  Then again, I'm pretty much a theme park enthusiast, so that's why.

Speaking of Super Mario Crossover...

Has anyone heard of Mushroom Kingdom Fusion? http://s4.zetaboards.com/mkfusion/index/
Basic story: Mario + A LOT of other games = MKF

MKF is fun because you can mod it.
Actually, on their old forums, they had a MM8BDM topic.

Someone should go post a topic there and get the magnet man medal.

Jazz Jackrabbit 2. If you haven't played that game, you should. It's a classic. Best thing about it are the custom stages you can make.

Lets see, what else hasn't been mentioned...?

Well, there was this custom mario level making flash game. It had a single player mode but I never bothered with it. The controls were a bit stiff. You couldn't do the duck&slide trick, so things didn't go the way I wanted to with my designs.

I hope the game I'm making will be good enough when it's done.

System Shock 2, Doom, Doom II, Doom 3, Portal, Quake 1, Worms Armageddon...

That's all I can remember off the top of my head.

A fun game I like is [urlhttp://maplestory.nexon.net/]MapleStory[/url] you choose a class you would like to play as and you get new skills for when you reach, Lvl 10, Lvl 30, Lvl 70 and Lv 120. There are 5 Main Classes, There is the Theif, Magician, Bowmen, Warrior, and Pirate. There are also subclasses based of those like a duel blader, and Evan(You control a dragon.)
It is A 1gb Download

Maple Story is pretty fun, but I try not to play too many MMORPG games. They can seriously get addicting.

I never liked MMORPGs... RPGs are fun... but the multiplayer element, I find, adds too many douches... and then it's not fun at all.

Thats because managers of those kind of games only care for body count and not a family friendly community. However, remember that this IS the internet, where one is and always anonymous unless revealed. And with your faced covered by the mask your granted freedom. depending on the person encountered, tends to abuse it with adolescent actions. Especially in video games.

That aside, if SparkPlay was still around before their bankruptcy, I think you would of enjoyed the MMO Earth Eternal for it's community. Heck, even after the game was shut down, we created a "shelter" until we fully know about it's fate. As of now we know it was sold to a new company: Starts with Turner but I forgot the rest :p
