Title: [EXPANSION] Street Fighter x Mega Man

Well, it's finally the time this showed up. I'll be helping out as much as I can with this expansion since I'm possibly doing Urien, Balrog, and Seth's stages. Akuma's also a skin being done so let's get on with this shall we?

And for the tiles, you might need to rip them yourself or ask someone to do it (I have a few in my possession, I'm working on Urien's textures and I might start his stage soon. I can get tile rips from a friend if needed.)

All of this. I don't want my Skull MI work to be in vain, its probably my best map (I made myself) yet.

Alright stop the music for a second

As someone who's been frequenting Sprites, Inc. for a while now, I can say with certainty that we have no permission whatsoever to even be hosting the sprites on our site.  The only reason we have them to begin with is that CapCom stapled their name to the title, so ACE_Spark views it as an official game.  So effectively, we shouldn't really be doing this and effectively if Sonic88 finds out about this he can shoot us all down in an instant if he pleases.
Not that I think he will.  Just keep that in mind.

In real expansion talk, I kinda actually want to see a miscellaneous, maybe a CTF map, based off of Dan Habuki's training room (Use your imagination).  Also Akuma doesn't get a weapon...alright.

Also there had better be boss battles or I'll go on a psychomaniacal rampage

EDIT:  Oh, yes; it seems that Dusty will be making a Blanka skin in the future. (http://www.cutstuff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=2858)

I don't see the issue here, it was DOS vs MI before, both are rather dead now with the only things complete and actively shown being my maps (and skins) maybe even NC vs PU in which one was done and the other so close to done it isn't even funny. Roboenza vs BotApoc. YD classes vs KY classes. CSCC vs Teaparty classes (not really a rivalry here though).

No true expansion would be complete without a boss battle. Otherwise its just a mod + map pack.

Small Update: VGMaps has all of the stages ripped now. I'm going to be doing Seth's tiles and Balrog's tiles within the next few days. I'm going to hold off on Urien.

Working on Seth's Lab now. I'll probably have it done in a week or so.

@FTX: I sorta think Sagat's skin needs to be redone a little. Some of the rotation frames bug me (I.E. Front, Back / Right, and Back.) and the walking frames (They are good, they need a little tweaking, that's all.)

Also, sure you can do Balrog.

Ok i have put balrog's walking sprites too and i think i can't fix those problems in sagat if you do it give me the fixed sprites to me so i can finish it p.s i can't fix those problems in dhalsim and ryu too.

It's fine with Dhalsim and Ryu. As got Balrog I'd like to see his frames based on these walking frames:

Well i don't like it i think blaze will not like that skin becuz is standing like street fighter dan is not street fighter x megaman dan standing and the expansion has only megaman edit skins but not bison and sagat oh yeah balrog's walking was from.....pls tell was balrog in marvel vs capcom 2 becuz i toke the sprites from Mvc2 one.

I have a stupidiously high standard that expansions should come with classes, and this is one that absolutely needs them.
If there WAS an Akuma class, give him ridiculously high damage input, however modify the super bar to fit that so he can actually use the special.
Instant hell murder.

Ryu would probably have the chargeable Hadouken regular fire and the spin-kick alt, with the large-hitboxed Shin Hadouken as an item when the bar is filled.

Chun-Li? Low gravity, lightning kick regular fire, drop kick alt only usable in midair, special item when bar full; generic stuff.

Sevipe- I mean C. Viper: Rip-laser with minimal damage, alt fire flaming columns w/ cool down, super has columns go in four directions to fit three-dimensional gameplay;
And so on.
Scratch the Akuma class or change the special, we do not want to start another "v2c rolling cutter" incident. We all know how broken it was.
If you make a chapter with the stages, make Akuma or Bison the boss, probably Akuma, but make it so the rage meter is empty at first so the fight doesn't open up with Shun Goku Satsu.

Assuming Blaze doesn't screw something up, the weapons introduced should be fairly balanced.

Lightning Kick is planned to be a more consistent counterpart to the damage output variance hell that is known as Flame Sword. While Flame Sword seems to do drugs when you use it (sometimes OHKOing with little difficulty, sometimes dealing barely 20 damage), Lightning Kick will consistently produce the same damage with every hit. Players caught in Lightning Kick are also frozen temporarily, locking them into the rest of the combo. To balance this, Lightning Kick not only stops the user in his or her tracks, it also has a short delay after attacking to prevent infinitely stun-locking an enemy. If a class would ever be made for him, it would probably work a little something like another (http://www.cutstuff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=3118) class (http://www.cutstuff.net/forum/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=776) instead.

Long story short, there aren't going to be classes included in the expansion, simply because it's an expansion. That's not what expansions do.

Even if he didn't appear, someone has to go and make a Seth skin.

That's something that should have happened in Street Fighter x Mega Man. Instead of refighting the bosses directly, Seth should have appeared and copied the boss patterns and weaknesses Doc Robot style (and he would warp away each time he was defeated, until he finally explodes after the 8th and last fight).

Anyway, I wish you all luck on this expansion.

Although not much of the stage is shown, I am certain the big control panel/screen thingy to the left of the screenshot would look better as multiple textures, instead of one big texture slapped onto the wall. That is, have the base of the control panel as a 32 height ledge, with the buttons as an upwards slope. Then, push the top of the control panel and the big screen back 32 units. It's a 3D game, you know? Take advantage of that third dimension.

Hey Blaze, it would help if you went ahead and prepared Crimson Viper's textures. I'm punching out a map and it would help a lot to have the specific textures for her windows, especially the red S.I.N. banners hanging from them in her boss hallway and boss room. Basically I want to keep everything in a good size, and I don't want to make window areas or pillars too wide or too narrow.

I'm probably the only person who actually gives a shit, but the tiles in MMxSF don't stick to NES limitations.  Just saying.
I noticed that when doing the texture compile for Seth's maps. It can be tricky cause that also makes them harder to fit to the 32 rule of 8bdm. Especially for height.

versus mode-
it replaces duel mode, both players(only supports two players, but the rest can spectate) pick one weapon from the sfxmm mod(megabuster excluded), then the two duke it out until one dies. then a round two comes. a person who wins both rounds wins the game, then fights another player.

Stoneman's walking is far more exaggerated and he lifts his knee above waste level. Urien's walking is far more relaxed and powerful, giving the sense of composure as opposed to recklessness.

Also, Urien is a megaman edit, not a stoneman edit.

Probably because none of his sprites are poses that Megaman has. That doesn't necessarily mean he wasn't based off of Megaman, though. Hell, the height of the standing sprite is incredibly similar.

Althrough there are so much expansions and new Mega Man games that are made these times I'm not sure what's the most important to do now. Without talking of MMUnlimited's quality that will without any doubt get its thread one day or another (or even in some weeks because some can't wait)

On-topic, I'm not working on any important project right now, so please, hire me for making non-secrets weapons of this mod if it can help.
I don't cost a lot, I love making them and the pack comes with my average spriting skills.

The weapons for 4MI have been done for a while. I haven't released them because they are part of DIRP (my weapon pack) that's not ready for version 3 yet. I've been working on other things instead, such as LMSGames and (may as well say it) Mega Man Unlimited Weapons. I know YD is working on the expansion already, but they are for something completely different.
