I can't believe I've been making skins for 10 years at this point, time sure does fly huh?

This time I've made a skin that was already made yeeeeeeears ago, but I decided to see if I could do a better job with it; that little wizard man from the first Final Fantasy. I think I managed to not make it look hideously ugly this time, the NES Final Fantasy had some pretty weird looking sprites as is.

I know I've run out of room on the big roster on the front post, I don't feel like expanding it right now but I will eventually when more skins come out. Speaking of, I'm hoping to get that Heat Man skin based on the Rockman Battle & Fighters game done eventually, it's my oldest unfinished project! The sprites are really awkward and weird though, that's why it's been so hard to figure out how to draw the rotations.

Maps / Cut Man Event (Halloween reskin) revision released! (700th post?!)

With no Halloween event this year (or possibly ever again) I've decided to go ahead and rework a lot of the reskin of the Cut Man map I made last year. The most major change is the color palette, giving it an actual night time setting rather than sunset.

What??? Where is the Yashichi? It was hidden in that weird tree that used recolored Wood Man textures for some reason! Well, that area was renovated to look like an entrance gate (with gate textures ripped out of Scarlet Devil Mansion huehuehue)

Oh, it's that ghost again! Wait, what's that thing on his head?

Hey it's been awhile.

I don't normally post on here anymore because I've been uploading all my skins to GameBanana.

I neglected to mention I updated my skin for the cat from Syobon Action: Cat Mario. Now with passable side-facing frames and a new palette.

Anyway now we have a new revision to Storm Man, from RockMan L. Lots of small edits to make it better for what it is (being an edit of BubbleMan, it's never going to look grade A)

Thank you to Zdagger, Medalhunter, and ToastMan for contributing!

It's a bummer this expansion turned out to be just a "goodiebag", 70% of the participants dropped out of the project due to either stress, or for other projects like TTT or Freeman's map jam.
Next year hopefully there won't be any other projects and jams when October comes knocking. I'll also announce it a little earlier than this year to give more people time with their submissions!

With that said, enjoy the terrifying skins made by my 3 lovely contributors!

I would like to remind everyone that this is the last week to get something submitted!
A few people have dropped out of the expansion, and I do believe it's because of Mendez' "Textures, Teamplay, and Tango" project going on at the moment. I personally think this was a bad year to start an expansion, but I did it anyway for the sake of it returning after 5 whole years.

With that out of the way, I would like to proudly showcase my submission to this year's project.

Cut Man Event

It's your favorite robot master's battle map, but spookified!
Welcome to Camp Cutsman!

The lake contains a powerful weapon, but watch where you land!

Say hello to this map's gimmick; exploding pumpkins! Right out of Team Fortress 2's event maps. Yessir these touchy gourds will shave a full health player all the way down to 1, maneuver with extreme caution! Killing someone with these bombs will not raise your score, but it will lower theirs, so you have to avoid them as much as they do!

Bats don't come out during the day but who cares, they're there!

Some weapons have been swapped out to ones that won't interfere pumpkin bombs too much; welcome Yamato Spear and Knight Crush!

YIKES!! A ghastly specter has arrived to oversee the match, they can't hurt you though. I wonder what's with the hockey mask though...

BIG thank you to ZeroJanitor and IsabelleChiming for providing custom music for this map, I would have been stuck with the crappy NES Friday the 13th music if not for them!

One last thing; if you're interested in adding the exploding pumpkins to your own map, check out the first post on the topic, for I have updated it with a link to the actor! The instructions are set in the WAD, no need to shoot in the dark on what to do!

It's one of these "creepypasta" hacks that try to change the sprites to look scary. I managed to find 2 different builds for this so I included both versions of the sprites, though really the old ones aren't worth a whole lot. I do like HeatMan's popped eye though, that's a neat touch.

It's only FlashMan's stage right now, but this is what "even more than just sprite sheets" was. I have a lot of tilesets from these hacks people have asked me to make for maps and stuff. I only put this off because of how large the sheets for these were.

Jeez what else is there to do? I know there's a buncha stuff I could add to these other games but they're not as interesting as the robot masters.

Events / [EXPANSION] HAUNTED 8-bit deathmatch: Halloween returns!

After 5 years of silence every October, Halloween has finally returned to the deathmatch!

What will you expect from this? Terrifying, yes absolutely terrifying versions of your favorite MegaMan characters! Maps that might look familiar, or maps never before seen!

Where is this content going to come from? YOU, of course! But, not without a few guidelines:

-No resumbissions from previous events, please. We're starting fresh this time around.
-Skins should be related to MegaMan in some way. Robot masters cosplaying is fine as long as the character is at least vaguely related to Halloween. ClownMan as a mime? Yes! WindMan as a Jiang-Shi? Bingo! BurnerMan cosplaying Marisa Kirisame? Absolutely! MegaMan wearing a Ghostly Gibus? Sure, whatever! Also, I would like it if you made them compatible with class based mods if possible.
-Halloween reskins of maps should be more than just texture changes. Maybe add some special stage hazards or change up the weapon placement.
-All submissions will be reviewed and critiqued before they're guaranteed to be added in. This is to make sure that any skin submitted will look good and the maps are actually fun to play on. Remember that this won't flat out reject your submission, but rather to show you how to improve it.

Where to send them? Send them to me on my Discord, and add me if you haven't already! Blood44#0065 (my name is halloweenified right now so don't fret).

Submissions close on October 30th, 12:00 AM Pacific Time. Dedicated servers will be arranged somewhere down the line.

Oh and if someone makes a full pack of the stardroids cosplaying as the sailor scouts I will give them a discord nitro.

Bugs/Suggestions / [BUG] Some sprite files with the wrong format

While looking through the 8bdm pk3 for sprite file names, I noticed that there are a few odd sprites labeled "Graphic (SRB2)" and are shown in a pixelated mess in the preview image. Are these sprites corrupted in-game or is it nothing to worry about?

All sprites I found with the format issue were in the "actors" section of the sprites.

It's mid-august! Time for some long-deserved updates for some older sheets and stuff I said I would do.

RockMan 2 - Basic Master got a major overhaul recently. All the bosses were replaced with ones from various games instead of just vanilla 2.

RockMan 2: Another has finally been completed after 3 years in the one-offs list.

On top of BubbleMan replacing CWU01P, the "Dr. Wily" replacement is completely out of the blue. There's no context to who this character is or why the author drew this. I'll let you in on a little secret; this is Dr. Cossack's body with Doropie's head from Magical Doropie. What a weird "original character" design.

I'm aware that older versions of this had earlier versions of the sprites. I was unfortunately not able to track down a patch of the older build, so this is all I can do for now.

It's July already? Feels like last week I updated this thread doesn't it? Anyway, here's a thing I had sitting in my folder for awhile, it's Vine Man! Vinesauce has influenced like 40% of internet culture over the past decade or so, so it's bound someone has made a romhack based on a bunch of memes that stemmed off it. I know that I've done a lot of tileset rips over this past year, I don't know if I should upload them here or make an entirely new thread just for mapping and stuff, since those would fit better.

As for the thread itself, I've updated it a little by crediting the author of each hack. Wanted to give them a little notoriety for their work, since no one really does.
See ya'll when I get to the New Lands sprites.
