Add visuals to the invisible barriers in all shark phases (would the evil robot ones be fine here...? I felt it would look out of place)

That was my SINGLE biggest gripe with that fight. Most of the times I got hit were because I tried to dodge and flew straight into an invisible wall (or floor) and just stopped moving completely.

Personally, Bass 2's difficulty feels so awful because of how early he is. To put it in perspective, any new player comes into Bass 2 when the most difficult thing they've done thus far is fight 48 bots in a row. (Well, that or new Dark Man 4.) Wily Capsule 7 was almost perfect as the chapter boss because he threw annoyances and difficulties at the player, but was still fairly simple to figure out. He has a distinct pattern, a method to his madness, and actually stands still long enough for you to be able to hit him. Bass 2 is a spastic little snot who flies around and gets stuck behind pillars or under platforms and has a stupid upward rising move that requires good RNG to avoid. And he has a lot of health and deals a lot of damage. And there's death underneath you.

And hell, we haven't even fought Evil Robot yet, much less King or the Genesis Unit.
People can actually get stuck here and never get to MM9.
That sucks.

hey so the boss music script likes to keep toggling itself every single time someone gets a frag ever
if the boss music plays and you change the song to something else, if anyone gets a frag it changes back to the boss music

Plug Ball, compared to every other weapon in the game, is really really loud. Hornet Chaser is also a bit noisy (even with just one bee) but Plug Ball is just ridiculously loud. Tone it down for v5b, please.

So I finished v5... sort of. There's still one bit of unfinished business, but apparently it's gonna take me a while.
But hey! I beat the campaign! Technically twice! That's gotta count for something, right?

Thanks for sticking through it, there were some sour spots (more like one big sour spot) but the ride was fun as hell.
Show up tomorrow for the conclusion (I hope)!

impromptu midnight stream literally nobody saw coming... not even myself!!

just skimming through maps the campaign passed over (e.g. Wily stages)
might try fighting HIM again but it probably won't end well
also I back up all my streams, so after everything's over I'll upload the videos

normal campaign progress will continue Saturday morning as previously planned

Closed / [bug] Punk is a punk - secret bosses halt chapter completion

Losing to a "bonus boss" (e.g. a Mega Man Killer) and then progressing through the chapter will have you face that bonus boss again at the end, instead of the normally-scheduled boss. It's probably something to do with the Killer flag not being properly toggled or something; winning against a bonus boss and then progressing will have you face the chapter boss, as normal. It happened to me in MM4 with Punk, and I went back and tested it with Ballade. I mentioned this in my stream but just in case (and as was suggested) I'm also reporting it here.

Unrelated note: can Punk's fight suck less in v5b? <!-- s:ugeek: --><!-- s:ugeek: -->

Wait, but then how will you be able to "staircase" your way up to a high ledge? Does it check for velocity instead of just checking for a floor beneath you?

Your velocity stops when you summon it.

Disregard me, I was an idiot and confused Item 1 for Item 2. I forgot both of them were in the game.
