Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit - PS1

I used to love this game SO MUCH!!!! Along with Crash Team Racing, I used to play this game for countless hours! Unlike all the newer NFS games that we have, this one wasn't filled up with necessary visual upgrades and performance parts that you progress and be faster, instead you start with high power and great cars from the start! The slowest car (the other one in the video) is capable of 175mph! Sure this game might not have had the best of graphics, and the physics may have been wonky at times, but that did not at all stop the amazing game play! The music was great too! Why must it be filled with typical hip hop and gangster music? The soundtrack on this game is way better! AND if you listen closely, you can hear it change depending on where you are in the track, along with whenever you crash! Oh, and then there's hot pursuit mode....Like what you see in the video, when that mode is activated you must avoid the onslaught of police cars that are fighting for justice. But thing is, they have VERY good AI! They're not too difficult or easy, and yet they still know how to trap you and PIT maneuver you and they can even set up roadblocks and spike strips!

EA should really have been more careful with the more recent NFS games. I still love this game and I always will. Just thinking about this game makes me want to take out my disk and put it into my PS3!

EDIT: I just played it now and I realized that one of the tracks has a blimp in it!!!!!!! HELLS YEAH!!!!! I love this game even more now! The blimp is just there as a mobile decoration like many other things in the game

Tetris Attack: Entirely unrelated to Tetris

Well, perhaps it just doesn't see discussion, but I'm a huge fan of the Tetris Attack / Puzzle League series.

Why is it awesome?
It's the fastest paced puzzle game ever. And probably the most competitive, too. (If anyone knows otherwise, please do share.)

One game I'd say is not that known is Iggy's Reckin' Balls. It's a kind of action/racing game that involves climbing towers. Thing is, even the towers themselves can get crazy (few kinds of enemies, and the terrain varies a bit). It's for the N64.

Tetris Attack is so amazing

Not sure if it counts as awesome, but it was the most obscure game that came to mind:

Gameplay footage because it makes more sense in action (beware: sound quality will make you want to stab your headphones/speakers):

I would also add onto here Rune Factory, but I only got it recently and don't know how well-known it is.  Definitely would say it's an awesome game, though

IGGY'S RECKIN' BALLS FTW!!!!!111

I absolutely love the Rune Factory series. Just make sure you do the series in order. It's a series that gets far, far better with each installment and it's very, very difficult going backwards in it.

Why do I not find out about awesome game series sooner
« Reply #26 on: November 29, 2011, 05:48:06 AM »
Just got the first DS one for my birthday party, and I find the Animal Crossing/RPG/Somethirdthinghere mix to be amazingly addicting.  I definitely want to get the later games if I can get some munny for them.

I have two from HAL Laboratory, and I have 3 good reasons why I think I should share them.  :)
1. One of them is a well known series, yet I have yet to meet heaps of people who have played it.
2. The other one is really good but I have heard it was not released in the US.
3. It's not Kirby, which while being great, always steals HAL's limelight, lol.

While all three are similar, the third one seems to be the most complete of the series, and is the one I personally grew up with.
It's a unique game, and a very fun and intriguing puzzle game, I am surprised there has been no DS remake or something.
Essentially you collect hears (some give you ammo) and then activate the jewel box and progress through the level. Easy to learn, hard to master.  :) Add an awesome and catchy soundtrack and you've got yourself a winner!

The next game by HAL Laboratory is the New Ghostbusters 2 (a lot better than the er... Activision one?).
I learned later that this wasn't released in the US? (I'm from Australia so I wouldn't know) but this game was awesome.
You control the zapper (Button A) and your buddy follows you and is the trapper (button B) and your buddy can't be hurt.
Easy to learn, good graphics, and a killer soundtrack based on the movie, this game was very well polished.

These 2 and Kirby's Adventure all share the awards for representing HAL Laboratory, and some of my all time faves in my collection.  :D
