MM8BDM Discussion / PLAYPAL NOT FOUND? UBU server error
« on: June 28, 2015, 07:47:34 PM »
I am currently working on a ubuntu server and I just ran into a roadblock.  I am getting an error that says W_GetNumFor_Name: PLAYPAL not found! No idea whats going on.

This is my current launch script.
/home/lladmin/MM8bdm/zandronum-server -host -port 10666 -iwad /home/lladmin/MM8bdm/megagame.wad -file zandronum.pk3 -file mm8bdm-v4c.pk3 +exec server.cfg

This is what my screen looks like.

Any fix for this?

MM8BDM Discussion / help with linux server?
« on: July 18, 2011, 07:46:32 PM »
I know its been a while since I have been on here.

Currently I am an server admin for a clan that has a dedicated linux box and I am interested in hosting a mm8bdm server on it. However I done it on a windows machine long ago and I no longer have those files or remember the details. I did find some guides to running a standard skulltag server on linux, I just don't know how to do the mm8bdm details in.  Also I remember back in the day I used internet doom explorer to make the files and server config need to run the server, I figured I can modify those to get those working on linux.

Also on the server we are running a "screens" application so that we can deal with servers via ssh.

How do I create a mm8bdm server for linux using what I have got right now?

I also found these links to help me. ... 9b#p139930

MM8BDM Discussion / CTF?
« on: July 31, 2010, 05:04:07 AM »
Are There going to be CTF maps?

I just had a thought that it would be exactly right to have ctf maps based off one level. You have to distinguish between red and blue base. I am also thinking that maybe it might not work to have a ctf map that uses 2 robot master levels (CUT MAN VS ELEC MAN).

MM8BDM Discussion / Comprehensive SERVER GUIDE (WIP, HELP WANTED)
« on: July 26, 2010, 07:42:02 PM »
I am currently working on a guide for running different types of servers for mm8bdm, and I have a few questions that I want to ask. ... 0GUIDE.doc

If I change the port number in the RSP file would the server still be listed in skulltag's server list or cause any problems? (This is for running multiple servers in one machine). Internal testing says yes, you can run more than one server on one machine.
Quote from: "server.rsp"
+deathmatch 1
-config ideserver.cfg
-iwad "E:MM8BDM~1megagame.wad"
-file E:MM8BDM~1mm8bdm-sgc.pk3
-port 10666
+exec idemmcnfgtest.cfg

On the configure server option box there is a option for  "PWADs Dowload url:", is this the same thing as a redirect in other games? "Don't download from the server get it from this site"?  what kind of link should I put in there?

Can I get an advance copy of the mm8bdm launcher, map list, and/or other file names so that I don't have to rewrite everything once the full version is released?

Will the basic server program change when the new version is released?

Is there any way to start/stop/restart a skulltag server remotely via telnet or webpage just like tcadmin?

Anyone here a linux expert?

Is there any info you guys want me to throw in?

Skins & Bots etc / A very odd list of skin requests

I am not that good at photoshop and image editing, so I can't really do this sort of thing. If you decide to do one of these or you in the progress of doing it, just say so. These are just some crazy ideas for custom skins that I and a few friends have come up with.

MM8BDM Discussion / MM8BDM SETUP GUIDE (Work in progress)
« on: July 19, 2010, 08:31:15 PM »
I started working on this guide on how to setup MM8BDM, because alot of my friends had a real hard time setting it up. I figured to let you guys have a hand in this. I got it win word .doc format, so you just need openoffice or anything to write to it. You may notice that some things are highlighted as reference, RED is for need more or something missing, Yellow is reference, light blue is for Pic place holder.

I would just like to hand this off and let somebody else pick it up so that I can get work on a server guide.

Help & Editing / SERVER CONFIG WITH IDE & Batchfile
« on: July 16, 2010, 08:03:28 PM »
I am currently looking at this guide ( ... 43&t=15797) on how to set up a server. What modifications to this do I have to make to get it to work with MM8BDM? Will the server be on the skull tag server list?

If I can get this working with this program then I could possibly convince my clan to host a server instead of me doing it from my basement.

MM8BDM Discussion / BEan's Server (DOWN)
« on: July 15, 2010, 02:24:27 AM »
I got a server going, everything updated.
using the mm8bdm offical launcher

Title: BEan's MM8BDM
Location: St. Louis area USA
Random map rotation
It is showing up on the server list

send me a PM if there is any problems
also I may change the name of the server or move the server, If I can convince my clan to pick it up for me. I would only shut it down if It causes problems for me.

BTW could somebody tell me if they see my server on any doom server list program like doomseeker or ide.

I updated to the new skull tag engine and I have a problem. The internal server browser shows ALL skulltag servers, not just the ones running the MM8BDM.

I am trying to convince my clan to play this game and possibly host a server for mm8bdm, this skulltag update just screwd everything up a bit. Is there a temp fix for this, or do I have to wait for a new version (with more levels and characters)?
