[Petite Map Pack] Lilypack v1b

Hello and welcome to Lily Pack!

>Download v1a Release Here<

What is Lily Pack?

Lilypack is an, as of now, small map pack composed of six maps. It was created in a team effort* by Kapus and Yuri Sakazaki. The layouts and general design of most of the maps are done by Kapus, while Yuri focuses primarily on decoration, polish, and tying up loose ends (a lot more important than it sounds!). The maps in the pack are fairly simple, and while they may consist of some custom textures, they generally do not have any innovative gimmicks or features in their gameplay. Just basic layouts. I do hope you will enjoy playing on the maps despite that.

Each map has a Yasichi hidden somewhere, as is tradition. There may be extra easter eggs hidden somewhere, however..

*Captain Barlowe (and maybe some other guy) has volunteered to contribute in future versions of this project.

Well, what happened to Kappak then?

For all intents and purposes, this is Kappak! The maps in this pack, with the exception of the first and last, are all old Kappak maps brought back to life in a much more playable and enjoyable form. This project started off as an effort to revive Kappak with our new mapping experiences. We decided to add additional original maps into the mix and to change the name of the pack since it is no longer a solo effort.

Currently, only 4 of the old maps from Kappak have been brought back. However, later releases will revive some more old maps as well as bring in more brand new ones!

What are the maps?

The Sapphire Caverns spoiler has a screenshot from the map before it.

Anyway, I'm definitely trying these out!

Was about to mention that screenshot screw-up.

I've already played through these, and they're a whole lot of fun!

Alright, there are a few things that jumped out at me:

- General: the size of the pack is kinda big for the quantity of maps it has. I suggest looping your music more efficiently (looking at LILY06 on that, too.)
- LIL01: You should probably have some cloud platforms going up from the Gravity Hold platform so that players that reach there have a chance to go back if they ran out of Item 2.
- LIL02: There's a teleporter that makes players face a wall when used, and it also has a wrong texture. Here's a screenie.
(click to show/hide)
- LIL04: The music sounds incredibly muffled.

Nothing else at the moment. LIL03 and 06 were great, though. The sparkles and recolored Shade Man rocks look fantastic. I wish I was able to decorate half as good as these maps look, too.

Treble Boost is on the map too btw.

Also love that you used that map.
Only thing that stuck out to me was in Wily 4 Stage 2.

It is like that on both sides of Screw Crush, just the far wall.

I can't believe I forgot that. I had uploaded the wrong version of that song into the pk3, so it doesn't loop properly. It takes a long while to fade out though so it's hard for me to notice and remember. Hrk.

Thanks for mentioning that, I'll get to it.

That would make plenty of sense, not sure why I didn't do that in retrospect.

Does it? I'll look into finding and comparing higher quality rips, then.

Thank you for the comments. I'm glad you liked LIL03! It was a lot of fun to decorate. LIL06 was more of a novelty map than anything (it is based off of a Final Fantasy Tactics map), so I'm also relieved to know that went well.

EDIT @Gospel: Lego just pointed that bug out to me. Not sure how that went over my head during testing, but it's a serious bug and I've taken note of it. Thanks.

I said it before, and I'm gonna say it again.

LIL01 and LIL03 are my favourite ones in this map pack.

I can't wait for the rest of the Kappak maps to be remade!

MM6WILY is definitely making a return, as is most other maps from the old Kappak. I think the only map that's a definite goner is Gurgu Volcano.

Glad to see people enjoying em~!

LIL03 I spent hours upon hours decorating and polishing and I'm really proud how it came out!

LIL02 Was probably the second most time spent on.
