Some questions about core features and music credits.
« on: September 25, 2016, 08:19:30 AM »
Hello everyone!

I started to do a MM8BDM album for my own sake; maybe when it's done you'll want me to share it.

But I have questions about the delays; in the core files we can easily see something like this:

Code: [Select]
sethudsize(800,600,0);
SetFont("CUTSTUFF");
hudmessageBold (s:"A"; HUDMSG_FADEINOUT, 1, 9, 400.0, 300.0, 4.0, 0.9,0.9);
Delay(4*35);

I really wonder what is 4*35 like in seconds, and how many of this delay thing we need to do one second.

Now, for my second question: who made the MM7 / MM8 / MM&B / MMWT arrangements? And who made the custom music tracks like the Evil Robot theme, the Genesis Unit theme, the Fakeman Chase theme? I need credits of every of these chapters' music.

Thank you so much!

35 tics is a second. * is the multiplication sign so 4 x 35 is 4 seconds.

I lose track of who made what  in terms of music, I'll have someone else answer that for you.

I might be able to get music credits to you later, I have most of them but not all of them. There's a few things I'm having trouble digging up sources for.

However, I would recommend against releasing any sort of soundtrack publicly because
A. Later on I plan on doing that with all the fancy schmancy things
B. Given how the only way you can reasonably access some of the files is through the abruptly cut off ingame files

See, I want to do an album for my own sake. However, when yours will be released, I'll think about downloading it and keeping the best of the two.

On the subject of an album release, I know some video game soundtracks like to have exclusive songs created for the album in addition to songs that originate from the game, like the following:

As you can see, the majority of my reference pool comes from Nintendo game soundtracks.

Anyway, the point is, I'd like to hear what the V3 and V4 Final Boss themes would sound like if they were done as if they actually existed in Mega Man 8 and Wily Wars, respectively.

Well you see, the Final Boss themes are only made for MM8BDM, and I don't think anyone would remake them. At least, I won't because I'm really bad at it.

But I'll add extra items, like the pre-v5 MM8BDM soundtrack, since v5 add this whole music revamp and loops.

Might not be what you're after but someone did cover Evil Robot's theme in a SNES soundfont

Oh yeah, this. I listened to it, it's great, really. Would be wonderful if we added Trio in a MMX game!

Well, they do have loop points, which also work in things like RPG Maker and Super Mario Bros. X with the SDL Mixer.
