My new hack changes every single level (excluding the occasional boss fight) in Arkanoid - Doh It Again to a level featuring a character from the classic Mega Man series. Almost every single classic Mega Man game is represented in some way (excluding 11 and some very obscure titles), with main characters, prominent villains, famous enemies and bosses, and loads of robot masters for you to destroy block by block! Play through every level to get a few surprises at the end in the form of cameo appearances by other popular Mega Man characters.

You can download it here: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5675/

The README file included on the download page on Romhacking.net has all of the levels and their represented character listed at the bottom, so be sure to check that out to find the location of your favorite robot warrior!

Help & Editing / Doomseeker refuses to work
« on: January 12, 2021, 03:08:21 PM »
Can anybody help me get Doomseeker to work again? For some reason, it's not showing any servers at all, despite all settings being correct and having it work just a day before (letting me get online and play on several servers). I've tried using a brand new version from the Cutstuff tutorial page (where the information to set it up for the first time is found) so I could start over again, but as soon as I opened up the program from the new zip file, it opened up my old program with all the appropriate settings. Maybe the server is down? Any help would be appreciated, and I do have V6 of MM8BDM installed (and it worked fine playing online before now).

Mega Man Discussion / Brand New Mega Man Podcast!
« on: January 11, 2021, 07:16:32 PM »
So I posted a topic about an amazing podcast called New Game Plus a while ago, and recently a member of that community started his own podcast completely devoted to playing each and every Mega Man game in release date order. He has a decent amount of episodes up so far and is putting them out every two weeks for people's enjoyment. His commentary is always light and funny, going in depth with lore as well as mechanics, music, game design, and characters to create the best and most well-rounded experience. Check him out here: https://waipf.podbean.com/

Anything Goes / New Game Plus - the Best Gaming Podcast Ever!
« on: December 30, 2020, 05:23:00 PM »
So about a year and a half ago (sometime in the spring of 2019), I was looking for something new gaming-wise to delve into, something that I could listen to and enjoy without having to put my full attention towards if I'm working on another task. After some research, I stumbled upon this podcast called New Game Plus - a Retro Gaming Podcast on Spotify. I listened to one of their then newest episodes: Castlevania Symphony of the Night, and was immediately hooked. I then spent the next year going through their back catalog of always entertaining content and finally finished all 230 episodes by the end of this July. And there is still more content coming!

They have several Mega Man episodes to listen to, including content on Mega Man 2, 3, X, Legends, IV (GB), and Battle Network 2.

If that sounds interesting, here's an excerpt from their website:
"We are New Game Plus! We have been making weekly podcasts since September 2015. Every episode is devoted to a different game that is at least fifteen years old. It can be any genre and on any console. It can be a game that is overwhelmingly loved OR a game that is universally hated. Each week’s game is randomly selected from our ever-growing, listener-generated Retro Master List."

In addition to that, they have a wonderful and inviting Discord that you can join (link is in their website: https://ngppodcast.com/) that is most likely my favorite online community of people. Just know that this podcast and it's Discord server come highly recommended, and I hope you give it a try!

PS - you can find this podcast almost anywhere you can listen to podcasts, Spotify, Soundcloud, etc.  :)

Mega Man Discussion / Mega Man Deathmatch Music in MP3 form!
« on: December 12, 2020, 11:31:36 PM »
Hello guys! I have been an on-and-off Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch player for a few years now, and every time a stage from a originally non-8-bit or 8-bit styled game came up and those wonderful remixes played, I would get a huge, goofy grin on my face as I traversed the level. Eventually, I wondered if there was somewhere I could download these amazing covers of classic Mega Man songs, but after extensive searches, I could only find a few ones on Youtube (mainly on CutmanMike's channel). But being the completionist I am, I wanted to hear these songs on the go without having to pull up the game or Youtube to enjoy them. So I decided to rip them out of the installation files myself and edit and lengthen them to form individual "albums" or compilations for each non-8-bit game that was remixed. After several months of working with Slade and Audacity to get this done, I finally finished compiling all of the remixed music used in 8-bit Deathmatch, and wanted to share it with everybody for their own personal use and enjoyment!

In the above Google Drive link, there are (virus-free) Zip files for each game that contain MP3s that should work on almost any media device. They include remixed albums for Mega Man 7, Mega Man 8, Mega Man and Bass, Mega Man - The Wily Wars, Mega Man: Powered Up!, the four Mega Man Gameboy ports, Mega Man the Power Battle, Mega Man Soccer, Super Adventure Rockman, and Mega Man V (I realized that these songs were already in an album after I had already done the work, so I decided to put it in there anyways, however, you can find the original album here: https://isabellechiming.bandcamp.com/album/mega-man-v-gb-2a03-soundtrack-remake). The link also contains an amazing remix of the Mega Man II (GB) Title Screen Theme by RushJet1 (using Gameboy instruments, which you can find originally here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dM-zRumhbM&ab_channel=RushJet1) and a compilation of MarktheRence's Mega Man 11 8bit cover (found originally at: https://www.youtube.com/playlistlist=PLfKXSSLuoPbgZLB0ulHScIWkbwW6g_coj) as a bonus!

Hope you guys enjoy these albums as much as I do! I tried as hard as I could to get every track lengthened smoothly and correctly, as well as appropriate crediting on each track (as far as I could find on the 8-bit Deathmatch wiki and forums, a special thanks to NESBoy and Super Craig 64 for their work). Let me know if there are any inconsistencies or crediting problems in the comments below.
