Greetings. I kept on looking at wads for multiple Doom-based games and found that not even the mods put all the features of Zandronum to the test to make a unique gameplay experience. Thus, an idea formed in my head, "I'll make my own Doom-based game that puts all the features of the Doom engine and Zandronum source port to the test and make it as good as possible!".

Currently, I already have some scripts done, though I will have to edit them multiple times and add more as I go along. However, since this isn't a mod and is planned to be a full game, I need a team for sprites, music, models, and maps. Yes, it'll have to be a team effort just like any full game you'd buy at the store.

Anyways, I'll post concepts, progress, scripts (once they're done or I need feedback), and other things I do for this project in this thread. I will also use this thread as a means of seeing whom is interested in helping out.

I guess I'll start by posting what I currently plans to put in the game.

World/Region Name: ???

Story: ???

Primary/Vanilla Class: Adventurer

Weapons:

Ideas will be taken into consideration as usual. If you want to help out in any way, just say so.

Also, the current name is just a code name and will be changed later on.

As for requirements for being of help. Spriters must be able to make images that at least meet the quality of 32-bit games. Mappers must be able to make co-op maps that connect to each other instead of being set in a linear path. (more like Hexen instead of Doom, I suppose) People whom make models must be able to use MD2 and/or MD3. Musicians must have basic musical knowledge.

Some of these are for the reason of aesthetic quality, others are to make the game feel more immersive, and any of the rest are for compatibility reasons.

Events / Mod Monday (Weekly Event)
« on: December 27, 2013, 04:40:25 AM »
Hello, all! Due to how little attention multiple mods are getting, I decided to invent what I like to call 'Mod Monday'. Basically, a mod that's not-so-popular will get picked and hosted on the server in order to boost its popularity, it will be hosted until the end of the day.

The mod may be anything that's not Saxton Hale (as much as I love it) or YD Classes.
I only say this due to them being the most popular MM8BDM mods hosted on servers, of course.

I'll put up a poll of mods to be hosted and you guys vote, yadaydaydaya, on Monday the server will be hosted.

Oh, I just realized that if I don't lay down all the rules in an orderly list, the same mod could easily get voted for every week or somethin' similar.

General Gaming Discussion / General Doom Engine Based Game Discussion
« on: October 04, 2013, 02:51:49 AM »
I didn't see a thread for talking about other games based off the Doom Engine around here, and since I love all the games made on it (aside from Chex Quest), I just had to make this.

Talk about anything that runs on the Doom engine, this means Doom, Doom II, Heretic, Hexen, Strife, Chex Quest, and any mods for those games

I'll start off the discussion by mentioning a Doom II mod called "Doom the Mercenaries", it basically gives Doom II gameplay similar to that of RE4 and gives it new sprites for these gameplay changes.

You can get it here: https://mega.co.nz/#!pIEXiBYT!S4AcMGeln2-l_p6g77WtaCfJk_klIvsP0POMhehC1BU

« on: October 01, 2013, 02:31:07 AM »
Up until now, I've only used decorate to script, but something I'm working on requires ACS and I have no clue what I'm doing wrong.

Here's what my script looks like so far:

And here's the error I get:

Any help I can get would be great, I just want to get this fixed so I can test out my leveling system

Skins & Bots etc / OtakuAlex's Music Shop
« on: August 05, 2013, 01:36:09 AM »
Hello fellow MM8BDM players,I'd like to share with you any music packs I make (you should already know that from the title though)

8-Bit Anime Themes-To get this started I have made a music pack with 8-bit renditions of themes from various animes. There's also one Vocaloid song in here just because I wanted it to be there, once again,in 8-bit.
