Title: FiniteZero's Skin and Musicpackmajigs (Wily Capsules!)
Post by: -FiniteZero- on July 24, 2011, 05:01:57 PM
Here, have all the Wily Capsules from 1-10. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/muxk9e1iyy8ze0j/Wily%20Capsule%20Skin%20Pack.pk3) (Note: The 1-3 ones are the ships that Wily uses in those games, since the capsule boss fights didn't start until MM4. Also, they do not have rotations, sorry. I am several things, an artist is not one of them.)

MYSTERY MUSIC PACK! (https://www.dropbox.com/s/eli75infaicmjql/Mystery%20Music%20Pack.wad) :D
The codes for the tracks are of the MYS#MUS format, from 1 to 17.

This simply replaces the item pickups in the levels with 8-bit versions of those from the DOS games. Inspired by geno's mods that do similar things.

This is Buffer Man, from Rockman Peercast. Yeah, he's a Bubble Man edit.

It's Dr. Eggman, using sprites from Sonic Drift.

And now, because yes, a Sonic 06 Character Theme Pack, with 8-bit remixes I whipped up myself. It's rather tiny.

SNCMUS - His World
SHDMUS - All Hail Shadow
SLVMUS - Dreams of an Absolution

And now, 8-bit covers of Bond musics! http://www.mediafire.com/?yujua35d7uz5w5d

Have a nice day.

Will all of these be available in one pack when you have done them all?

Once I figure out how to do that, yep.

Put 'em all in a .rar.

Or do it the proper way by just sticking all the sprites into 1 pk3 and making a new line in skininfo.

Why is your music pack 50 MB?

Also, why is your music pack a PK3 file?

And lastly, why is your music pack 50 MB?

Joseph asked the same question twice... lol.

Yeah, it's pretty big. Depending on your definition of "50 MB"...

Well, let's put this into perspective, shall we?

"musics.wad" from MM8BDM-v2c.pk3: 112 files, 42.27 MB
"IX-Music.wad" from IX-Packv1D.pk3: 53 files (and 5 markers), 31.71 MB
Jafar's "Contramusic.wad": 18 files, 19.66 MB
thatguy74's "RokkoChanMusicWad.wad": 14 files, 9.42 MB
My own "XtraMus.wad" (various 8-bit tunes): 14 files, 5.61 MB
FiniteZero's "MegaManFinalMusic.wad" (formerly .PK3): 16 files, 41.79 MB (I was off by 10 MB.  Sorry.)

See where I'm coming from on this?

/me reads as *whine whine*

So I MAY have saved it as a PK3 instead of a WAD by mistake, but there's no reason to be touchy about it.

I think you completely missed the point I was making, Finite.  So I'll spell it out for you in simple English.

Your music WAD.
Is too big.
For what little content.
It is trying to offer.

Try again.

I didn't miss any point. All I put into it was music, in the OOG format. There is NOTHING I can do to make it smaller.

Remember that Hotel Megaman thread?  Remember that OGG I linked to you?  Remember how small it was?  1 MB, despite the song dragging for for four minutes.  Compare that to your 9 MB file and tell me "it's impossible" again.

Edit: And be thankful I'm not pointing out the other quirks and flaws in this music pack, such as the overbearing volume on some tunes and the screwed-up looping on others.

Second Edit: I love you, Hombre.  Hah hah!  :D

I DO try, but why bother if people are going to keep missing the point again and again and again.

If it makes you feel any better, while I don't like the file size, I do like the assortment of tunes in the pack.  Whoever did them did a pretty decent job of it.  They could use a bit more drums, but are pretty good all and all.
And I can't name them all, but I recognize a majority of them.  :x  Lots of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 music, a couple from Sonic 3D Blast, a tune from Journey to Silius, one from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, and a random handful of others, including "Sandstorm" by Darude.

I ride you continually about the file size thing because, in my own passive-aggressive way, I'm trying to help you.  I mean, it's really not that hard to knock back a 2-minute song to a reasonable size in OGG format while keeping the sound quality decent.  It's especially easy to do with 8-bit music, but not too hard with other types.

Can't you like, do something Finite?

So, how many tracks were in that thing? I could have done the job for you and probably cut the size in about half. I mean, it's just a matter of setting some stuff up in Audacity and spamming the export button until your heart's content.

Do you plan on adding 8bit covers of Skyfall and Quatnum of Solace for the music pack?

This is quiet unexpected. But actually kinda interesting to see. Though might I request also doing the tanks to more resemble the DOS ones too? They seem rather out of place with the edited items.
Title: Re: FiniteZero's Skin and Musicpackmajigs (DOS item pickups.

I'll look into it. You want the DOS 1 one or the DOS 3 one?
Title: Re: FiniteZero's Skin and Musicpackmajigs (DOS item pickups.
Post by: fortegigasgospel on September 19, 2013, 02:39:32 PM
I hosenstly forgot there was a difference. I'd say whichever you think looks better. 1's were taller and thinner where 3's were obviously shorter and wider. Maybe the E and W can be the shorter one while the M is the taller one?

And another major bump.

This mystery music pack is... A mystery! (Hence the name!)

The first one to correctly identify which game this music came from gets... A kitty!

Well, a picture of a kitty.
