Wait, you won't need it to be open source to not need Game Maker.

Open Source means that the creator gives people the source code and allows them to edit and use it as they wish. In fact, if its open source, you'd probably need GM to use the open source version.

On the other hand, if its not open source, you won't need game maker anyway. Instead, it will be an .exe for you to run and play like any other game, and the coding and such will not be available to anyone. You will not need game maker.

So wait let me get this straight, you guys are basically having a Smash Brothers like game, where you play as atleast over 80+ robot masters from each game (plus side games), and have the engines done in seperate files?

Oh okay good luck merging them all in the end. Can't tell if that's crazier then having to sprite all Gen 4-5 pokes in Gen 3 style.

Also I'd like screenshots of the engine, so I can SEE proof of this "game'.

I'm guessing you didn't read the whole topic for this game, so I'll explain it.

1. It's not exactly like a Smash Brothers game, it doesn't have punch-kick combos or anything like that. It's more like you being able to play as the RMs and fight each other 'till someone dies or falls of the cliff. However, the modes I'm thinkin' of are a lot like the modes in SSB, as there is going to be stock and score (score will have a scorelimit unlike SSB).

2. We are breaking it up into sub-games which we will release as soon as we are done*. Here's what I was thinkin': Mega Smash: Cossack Returns, Mega Smash: Light to the Rescue, Mega Smash: Wily's back, Mega Smash: Misc., Mega Smash: Complete.

3. There's nothing wrong with doin' them in seperate files, because if I put them seperately It's more organized. Plus merging them is easy.

I guess if you guys really want some screenshots I'll make some.

*Mega Smash: Cossack Returns, I'm finishing quicker than I thought so It'll probable done in probably a bit shorter than a month from now.

Okay, so I want to get a discussion of the potential game modes underway.

Firstly, the adventure mode... I'm opting for an adventure mode akin to SSBM, where one follows a stage, then fights a boss, then a stage, then a boss, ect... Until a final boss. I'm thinking that as the adventure mode goes on, it'll pick a random stage from each game and have you play through them. In the end, you'll fight a random Stardroid. When you beat that Stardroid, he is unlocked.

Then you've got Multi-RM whatever. Just throw a bunch of Sniper Joes in for that.

I want something akin to trophies, and I have a pretty good idea. I'll expand on that later.

Can I just say how beautiful this is?  The only characters I can think of from games missing are R-Shadow and Constellation Droids. Edit: Oh wait, Wave, Oil and Blade DOS as well, thought something was off.

Now, from what I'm reading with the way you are setting up the gameplay, there is no reason to be "No DOS" except to just exclude them.  They would only be visually similar but have different Z X Y or what ever attacks from other characters.

Also look at that selection screen, can you say no to a roster like that? That rivals Marvel Versus Capcom 2, and that has had one of the biggest character selections of any fighting game ever.

And no one complained about Ryu, Ken AND Dan all being in it.  Also don't forget Wolverine and Bone Claw Wolverine both being in it (though I think people complained about that one).  Even Roll in MVC1/2 shared some attacks with Megaman, the buster, was the same, her supers, and she had leaf shield and tengu hold as well.

And I see this as more Megaman Mugen Simple.

Nobody wants DOS in besides you. Even though I think this isn't going to end too well, this is Fyone's game and it's up to him whether certain characters get in or not. Whether or not other people disagree.

I apologize if that sounded rude.
