Teleporter suggestion
« on: April 26, 2015, 02:45:20 PM »
Since the new Zandronum adds a new teleport script, and it is not works with older map's teleport, I have a simple request. Could it be possible to add an option to the offline skirmish and the server menu? An option to turn off the teleporters. With this the players and the bots won't activate the old map's teleporters accidentally by stepping on it.

No.
1) Teleporters create flow opportunities. Turning them off destroys flow.
2a) Just wait until map packs update.
2b) Alternatively, don't use the maps that have 2 way teleporters.
2c) If you've gone this far with it and still want them, don't go in them. Don't go this far.
3) It isn't possible iirc

I'm late.
Good.

Alright...first, we don't have control over the engine. If we had it our way, we'd still be using the old method of teleporting. It's easier to implement and likely causes less overhead from a resource standpoint.
Second, it has been stated by the Zandronum devs on numerous occasions that is it up to the mod publishers to update their own maps. Isn't anything we can do about that.

If you wish to see discussion on this topic, visit the Zandronum tracker ticket here.
Meanwhile, this is moved to rejected.
