I find heavy irony in this Kickstarter project. Why?Do you know what that word means?
Honestly, i hope this bland ripoff never sees the light of day.Excuse me?
I find heavy irony in this Kickstarter project. Why?If it's made by the creator, how exactly is it a "ripoff"? It's meant to be a spiritual successor, as Capcom is doing little with the series at the moment.
IT'S A MEGAMAN RIPOFF, CREATED BY THE CREATOR OF MEGAMAN!
Honestly, i hope this bland ripoff never sees the light of day.

It's the creator of the franchise taking back the glory that he earned.
It's not him creating a "rival" franchise, it's him giving back to the fans what they trusted him for. Many broken dreams were established with Legends 3's cancellation, and he's basically apologizing to everyone for Capcom's ignorance. He's doing this by giving a similar claim to fame with Legends 3 in which the fans had a lot of close ties to the establishment of the game itself. If anything this game should be treated as a new Mega Man series rather than an alien bootleg made to draw in Mega Man fans.

With capcom, we have only......the new.... Rockman XoverB ;_________;I relate with you buddy, a demo Xover was made into a flash game in a couple of days.
I am thrilled with it.I think it's a great idea as well! Megaman 10 was a blast for me (and I made an enemy with Blademan but whatever), Inafune and co.will be able to pull this off and make it awesome.
Good graphics, mega man-esque gameplay, not 8 bit, etc. This is what I've been waiting for from a "Mega Man" game. What would never occur because the bulk of the fanbase screams for 8 bit. I got tired of 8 bit. MM9 ate up all my 8 bit nostalgia. This is exactly what Mr. X and I would always sit around discussing when it came to a future mega man title. I am excited and I pray this gets financed. Only Kickstarter thing I found worthy of my funding.
hypeHahah! I knew this would happen after reading that post of yours where you said you'd like a Megaman game that wasn't 8-bit. I'm aware wishes can come true, but it sure came true quickly for you~ :p
I really like how the artstyle is equally reminiscent of not only Classic Mega Man, but also of all the spinoffs (A lot of the designs remind me of Mega Man Zero in particular.)
Just going to drop this here:Lol, gotta love satire.(click to show/hide)
I can see why Inafune-san would be weary of us after how we handled Power Stone. Fortunately, we have never done anything like that to any of our other franchises.

-_-
It's 2/3 of the way to its goal already! The fans are being supportive!
I find heavy irony in this Kickstarter project. Why?Ok, how about YOU give him a couple millions so he can reclaim Mega Man's IP, which is currently owned by Capcom?

Nope, no audience. As a Megaman fan who will probably get Mighty Number Nine, I would not have gotten Legends 3.
I like how Beck could technically be the ninth Mega Man itineration, if you countQuote from: "Stardust"(click to show/hide)

I'm getting Vectorman vibes from this [concept of morphing].
Mighty No. 5 confirmed.

Vectorman was the first thing I thought of too.
Only 1 stretch goal left and its for the consoles version. They make that happen
I'll be interesred only if it's on PC.It's already on PC, that's what it was originally coming out for but if it reach 2,2mil it will be released on consoles as well.
Reminds me of Ms. Fortune from Skullgirls, somehow.Ears? Check.
WE HAVE CONSOLE PORTS NOWYES!
Also Communituesday as usual check it out if you haven't already - pretty neat stuff
... I'm not sure how to react to Mighty #8. If you ask me, he looks like they tried to put more than two concepts in one design...Yeah, but those concepts seems to work well together and that's better than having only one theme, IMO.
Guys, licensed products are nothing new, quit calling capcom Satan for making a board game; we don't even know how it'll play yet, and I for one, am optimistic about it.
I think it's important to note that some designs may appear a bit odd simply because of the person who designed them, they'll match the style of the rest of the game when the chosen design is remade and finalized.Yes. Thank you.

No matter what Call design wins, it'll go pretty much like how it went with the entire Mighty Number cast:
Devteam: "We're finished with this character's design, Mr. Inafune! What do you think?"
Inafune: "I like it, but you have to do it like this. *draws a new design based on the devteam's design*"
Devteam: "Wow, we like it a lot! Let's use your design!"
Also, both Call B and Call F could end up being redesigned a little to match the feel of combat.
Also regarding Call B not looking good enough for combat as it is, remember Pallette (http://images.wikia.com/megaman/images/7/7b/Palette.jpg)?.
Also, is it so bad if the design that's chosen is cute? Really, is it?I definitely don't think so. I love cute designs like Kirby. Video games and cartoons are great because you can have cute characters still do awesome things.
No no, this is all just an example, none of this is to reflect the finished product.
And nobody's pointed out the Mighty No. 4 boss reveal yet?(click to show/hide)
Unreal Engine.Is this bad?
Wait... Unreal engine? It's not bad, games like Infinity Sword run really good!
Uh oh...
It's what Antichamber (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antichamber), a game I had an absolute blast playing, ran on. Besides making my laptop bluescreen, I'm alright with the Unreal Engine as I have my brother's computer to play it on.Quote from: "Ceridran"Unreal Engine. Is this bad?

The engine isn't bad, it's just that my PC doesn't like it. :/
And if this push continues we could even get cool handheld versionsHas a game running on the Unreal engine ever been ported to a handheld console?
What I ment was that, has any Unreal engine game ever been ported to the 3DS or Vita?It seems like plenty have or could be ported to Vita; the only title that comes to mind is the latest Mortal Kombat, but I'm sure there's others (I'm not familiar with the Vita's library).
The handheld stretch goal was reached! Woo!AAAA REALLY?!
You do know there's a second phase, right?Wasn't it choosing a colour scheme for the girl, or summit along those lines?
Unless I misheard.
Quote from: "Ceridran"If so, inb4 blond hair with red jacket.
Dante has black hair :ugeek:Yeah, in the reboot.
Gotta love that waitress design! What? It's Panty in a military uniform.
It is? Oh, my bad then. It just kinda looked like a 60's waitress-styled outfit to me.Quote from: "VGS2"Hurp derp hurp! What? It's Panty in a military uniform.
The fact people started stalking her on twitter and are making hate videos about it just goes to show how people have way too much time on their hands. Who cares if she hasn't played a mega man game before? I bet there are people who worked on 9 and 10 who didn't either.
New footage!
I'm still not a fan of this game, but i have a two theories on how it will end.
A: The community will skyrocket the sooner the game comes out; and 5-10 weeks before the game comes out, there will be a countdown. And then, when the game is released, the game will have a terrible soundtrack, it will be a bad execution, the game will have a very laggy multiplayer mode, the game's physics will be terrible and everything will have a very small hitbox and it would be very, very cheap. The fans will dwindle, one by one and join the Megaman fandom once more.
B: The community will get so large, that it will eventually be destroyed, mainly due to the Dina Disaster, and a horde of angry megaman fans.
Is the promotion for getting that game after getting Azure Striker Gunvolt still going on?
Hey, in case you missed it, GamerGate discussion is being blocked on the Mighty Number Nine forums. Twitter users who support GamerGate are also getting blocked by @MightyNo9 by Dina. I'll give you three guesses who Dina's been very, very friendly to on Twitter recently.Gee uh

Gee uh>Why should I care that people I disagree with aren't allowed to follow video games they may have spent hundreds of dollars on because they don't like the fact that one of the employee's friends is a morally bankrupt harpy who is part of a bona fide, proven conspiracy to destroy video games? I mean, it's not like I'll get blocked, right?
that's great
But why should we care?
We REALLY don't need drama like that here. the "#FiveGuysBurgersAndLies" thread was closed for a reason. The reason that the thread was closed because everyone went "this is triggering me, please make it go away." In my opinion, you shouldn't get to force people to be silent about an issue that they are discussing in a civil and respectable manner just because it makes you feel bad. That's called a hugbox, and hugboxes are the worst kind of willful blindness.
The reason that the thread was closed because everyone went "this is triggering me, please make it go away."The funny part is that the entire thread was either people calling Cutstuff a cancerous forum or stating their lack of care.
I want to hold another robot design contest so bad!! Backer or not, send us a message if you’d like to participate! If enough people ask for it I’d love to do it again.
There's a new trailer:I think it looks pretty good.(click to show/hide)
I wouldn't mind if they kept making 8 bit Mega Man games for classic IF they also continued stuff like the X series and didn't revert that back to 16-bit style and kept it advancing. I doubt they'd pull something like that if they made another game in the latter Mega Man (zero and ZX) style though.8-bit is dead, Megaman classic needs to enter 20XX already. Besides, 7, 8 and Megaman & Bass had 16-bit graphics, and I still regard those as the last proper games in the series. 9 and 10 should have had the same visual style, and the ability to slide at least.
