Well, figured I'd hop on the bandwagon.
Made these for personal use, pitched them to the devteam, got shot down pretty quick.
Someone else asked me to put them on the forums anyway, so here we go.

The idea was to make the current Mega Buster HUD, which I find to be pretty bad, better and more like the Proto and Bass Buster HUDS.
There's also some noticeable shape changing, particularly where the buster meets the hand.

I like the shape just not the fact the white glare was removed, it adds quite a bit to the default weapon sprite.

Edit: And the details on the lights are gone.

I agree, the gleam made it look more like metal, the busters just look like plastic or rubber without the shine effect.

But the white can look very out of place when darker colors are being used as for both primary and secondary like BHB.

I was never big on the white sheen in the first place. Any weapons with white secondaries looked pretty bad because of it.

I am, however, hugely fond of the HUD and would love to see it in core. I was hoping the Proto and Bass Busters would get the arm touch-ups, too.

I like how the current one is shinier, all things considered. Weapons with white secondaries just absorb it, anyway- if it looks bad because of two different shades of white, I don't feel like it'd be a big issue to just change the shade of white the buster has now.

Then the shine would be darker than the secondary colors on the buster, and it'd look even uglier.

It would just need to change the shade of the color of the weapon, just make it looking a lit bit darker, like a little bit of a gray scale, but not too much.

That seems like a bit of a stretch just for a small highlight.

The reason I like this HUD so much is because it's clean and simple. I've always felt the gleam and the shading on the meter added unnecessary noise to the current one, especially when equipped with a dark weapon like Remote Mine or Black Hole Bomb. This holds especially true for those who might refer to the buster and not the ammo bar or icon to identify their weapon.
