an adventure in romance, deception, and custom special moves

hey who remembers this post about a month ago
well now it's time for the most unexpected thing in the history of bad ideas

PLAY MAFIA SUPER FAST WHOOOOAAAAA
so you get a role at random, then everyone is added to a Skype group chat where you can talk and such
phases will last roughly 10 minutes, or end early when all players have taken actions
abilities are triggered with 1-on-1 Skype PMs, similar methods are used for mafia team night kills
suggested player pool: 10 minimum, 16 maximum
estimated game time: 1 to 2 hours (3 hours at the absolute worst)

after the game concludes I'll post a summarized log of each turn on this thread
then this thing will get locked up and hopefully forgotten about for at least two months
if anyone wants to volunteer to co-run the game in case I get sucked into the AFK zone, go for it
also if for some reason this thread is super bad, mods have permission to lock it without warning

Lego was under the effects of a Metal Box. Basically, he resisted the Smash Attack from voting... for now. If he's voted off again he's gone for good! Also, Lego is stunned for this Night Phase, rendering him unable to perform any action.

Korby: You are a Brawler fighting to survive! Your special move, Head-On Assault, lets you Stun a target player during the Day Phase, preventing them from taking action during that phase! However, it also prevents you from taking action during that phase as well... so use it wisely! Head-On Assault works normally against Launched players. Head-On Assault can't be used to target the same player two Phases in a row, but you can target the same player twice in a row if you wait one Phase between uses.

Spikeboy: You are a Brawler fighting to survive! Your special move, Burning Dropkick, lets you deal 2 damage to a player with your daily vote! In addition, both you and that player will be Launched from the force of impact. While in Launched state, you are invulnerable to most special moves, but some special moves have added effects against airborne players, so be careful!

Myroc: You are a Swordsman fighting to survive! Your special move, Gale Strike, lets you Launch up to three target players (including yourself) during the Night Phase! While in Lauched state, players are invulnerable to most special moves, but some special moves have added effects against airborne players, so be careful!

Rui: You are a Swordsman fighting to survive! Your special move, Blade Counter, automatically activates during each Day Phase to deal 2 damage to everyone who votes against you! Blade Counter also works normally against Launched players. However, the counter will not activate if you are Stunned, so be careful!

Alice: You are a Gunner fighting to survive! Your special move, Cannon Uppercut, can be used during the Day Phase to Launch yourself into the air while targeting one player to attack! If the target player is also Launched, you deal 3 damage to that player with your skyward strike. While in Launched state, you are invulnerable to most special moves, but some special moves have added effects against airborne players, so be careful! If Cannon Uppercut lands a hit, it cannot be used during the next turn's Day Phase. However, if you whiff your attack, Cannon Uppercut can be used again.

Llama: You are a Gunner fighting to survive! Your special move, Echo Barrier, automatically activates during the Night Phase if you are targeted by a special move! The energy shield reflects moves back at your attackers, using their own power against them! It's even sturdy enough to nullify the mafia team's night kill, though it won't kill the player who used it. However, Echo Barrier drains energy when it activates, meaning if the move is triggered, it won't be able to protect you again during the next Night Phase.

Raveman: You are Nido Nakano, the wandering hero! Because you also have customizable special moves, nobody seems to notice that you're not a Mii Fighter... but whatever! Unlike the townies, you win simply by surviving until the end of the game. If the mafia team wins and you're still in the game, you win as well. I guess this is because you're so darn friendly and get along with everyone? Your special move, Love's Blessing, can be used during either the Day Phase or the Night Phase to target one player. If you target a player still in the game, they are protected from Day Phase votes, and become immune to all special moves used against them. However, they will be unable to use special moves of their own. If you target a defeated player, they will be brought back in the game with an extra stock! However, their character will be changed into a new role. The revival ability can only be used once in the entire game, and the protection ability can only be used twice in the entire game, so use them wisely!

Rave's Revival (Korby): You are Plus, an advanced combat droid! Nobody seems to notice that you're a robot, and you've been able to blend in because you can also use custom special moves. Unlike the townies, you win simply by surviving until the end of the game. If the mafia team wins and you're still in the game, you win as well. Your special move, Metal Axe, can be used during either the Day Phase or the Night Phase to target one player. If that player is Launched, you meteor smash them with a downward kick, instantly defeating them! Metal Axe has a fair bit of ending lag, however, so you won't be able to use it two Phases in a row.

Lego: You are a Metal Primid, on a mission to eliminate all of these impostor fighters! Your special move, Primid Punch, is even more powerful thanks to your metal body. With this mighty punch, you can target one player during the Night Phase, knocking them far away into the stage blast zones and instantly defeating them! If the target is Launched, you can't connect the full punch to their body; instead, they take high percentage damage. Think of this as a "half-hit"; punching a player at high percent will knock them out and defeat them, even if the target player is Launched again. You also have another ability in that you can resist being knocked off the stage, due to your increased weight and metal properties. This means that, once in the entire game, you can survive being voted off during the Day Phase if you have taken less than 8 damage during that Phase.

Awbawlisk: You are a Scope Primid, on a mission to eliminate all of these impostor fighters! Your special move, Super Scope, can be used during the Day Phase to conceal your vote! If you choose to use this ability, you can vote for a player through 1-on-1 PM (message either SmashBro or Freeman) instead of voting publicly in the general chat. However, your target will be notified that they are taking damage from an unknown source. In addition, because the stealth vote works through a special move, it will not work against Launched players, so be careful!

Rozark: You are a Boom Primid, on a mission to eliminate all of these impostor fighters! Your special move, Boomerang Strike, can be used during the Day Phase as you vote against a player! The boomerang will be thrown at the target player, dealing an additional 1 damage to that player. Also, at the beginning of the next turn's Day Phase, the boomerang comes back and deals 1 damage to that same player. Everyone will be notified of the boomerang's return and the fact that a player will be taking 1 point of damage that turn, so be careful!
