I was playing Guts man's stage, untill...

I saw my rivals running against the cliff!  :shock:

I was playing against the computer

Bots have a nasty habit of doing this. There isn't really a whole lot we can do to fix it, unfortunately.

Until now, I don't understand how they don't fall, the running animation is even happening, so how they don't fall?

An inventory item gives them the MONSTER tag, which mostly does nothing, but it prevents it from crossing Block Monster linedefs. The Block Monster property is given to linedefs that are next to pits/lava/spikes/Hasselhoff.

In layman's terms, invisible walls were made that block only things carrying a certain tag, and enemies are given that tag.

This may be a little better in v5b but I can't promise anything, bots are a force beyond our control for the most part. Trying to get them to do their job better is difficult.
