It's only been said 219,439,458,401,293,348 times that this needs to be made.
However, I'm not going to lie; I am not a very good taskmaster.  My ability in that department boils down to hunting people down and asking why they aren't working.  This expansion pack will be largely in the hands of the community--but hopefully, that won't be much of a problem, since everyone and their brother wants it.

Once again, I'm not going to lie—this expansion pack will not be easy.  There's a lot of sprites that need to be ripped, and more after that to be custom-made.  Progress on maps will likely be slow, since interest dies down quickly.  I don't even know all the information we should—how many Stages of Dr. Mad's Castle do we need, anyway, and if we do get a campaign going, who should the boss be?  ...Despite all this, however, I believe that the desire to make this expansion pack a reality will override all that.
...Now all I have to do is wait to be proven wrong.

All I'd managed to rip so far is Volcano-Man's tileset...er, most of it, anyway...and three mostly unhelpful sprites of Volcano-Man.

I should've pressed on and tried to rip some more sprites of characters, but...there was just so much junk in his tileset, I was feeling pretty disheartened already.  The only thing I have to say in my defense is that I only started this endeavor today.
Maybe King-Soutuku still has the spritesheets on hand?  I'm not fluent in Japanese in the slightest, but it's worth a shot...

when I make the weapons can I make them "not boring 8BDM clones"

I have a better idea for Ice Shield anyway so





oh yeah I think Megaman made a Hockey Man stage, go ask him for it maybe

If you can think of a better idea, knock yourself out; I was only trying to give how I imagined them in the most basic form.
(And yes, Ice Circle was probably the worst idea on the list)
But does this mean you're doing them, or no?

I know nothing of Rokko Chan, but if I can see the full sprite rips I can maybe help with a skin. Emphasis on maybe.

Oh and I have no ability to make transparencies for a while, so yea. Maybe.

I played this game already, but I only beat  Rolling Man and got to use his weapon a few times. Instead of making it like Crystal Eye, why not make it like a spread Rebound Striker? Only that they'd be weaker in damage and not rebound harder each time upon hitting walls.

And Rebound Striker exists thanks to Lego, too, so you can ask him for permission to use and modify the code.

Sorry for the bump, but I wanted to bring up that I could maybe design icons for the weapons plus define the color palettes for each weapon.

Sorry, everyone, it seems I made this topic a little too early.
On December 2nd, I sent out a message to King-Soutuku asking for the Robot Master and weapon sprites of the game.  He has yet to reply, but supposedly old Kingy is a slow replier to begin with, so for now we don't work with skins.  In the meantime, you can help by ripping tilesets, spriting and programming weapons, and--God forbid someone actually does--mapping.  Once again, my apologies for not coming prepared.

I'd be willing to make a map, from my experiance with Torch and SkullMI I think I can make something plausible decent. I'd need to research Rokko Chan though. I also would not want to take a place unless I was fairly certain the map was at least Torch quality.

I also have a "God Password" I held on to, stored below, which starts you with 9 E-Tanks at the beginning of Dr. Mad's Castle.

Ok gave a quick run through of the stages (only one I managed to get to the boss was Forest and fortress 1, which I didn't beat either). All in all I think I may have an idea for Lightning or Jet. Like I said, I'm not going to claim any maps though until I'm happy with what I have made.

NEWS AND UPDATES
I have gotten in contact with King-Soutuku, and...well, there's good news and there's bad news.
The good news is, Kingy would be delighted to see a Rokko Chan Expansion Pack for MM8BDM, and he's willing to help out and lend supplies.
The bad news is, he appears to be confused on exactly what I asked for--meaning, most of my original message was destroyed by bad translators.

SO.
What I need now is for someone who can actually speak Japanese to prepare a message for me.  To King-Soutuku, write a formal letter requesting the boss spritesheets, weapon sprites, and potentially tilesets and sound effects from the Rokko Chan game.  Be polite, yet brief--but mostly be swift, as I do not know how long a reply back will take.  Please, this is effectively the only way to ensure this Expansion Pack's success, so no goofing around.

I remember someone was obsessed with Japanese awhile back, and for a good long while too.
-dramatic pause-
His name was M712.
Of course, I'm not sure if he knows actual Japanese, but he did quite abit with it.

Then there's other people, and my attempt to help this topic and this post become why.
