Closed / [Bug] Single Player Training Room not giving weapons.
« on: October 23, 2017, 06:15:44 PM »
Pretty straightforward. The training room won't give me, or the Sniper Joe bot, the weapon that I select for either of us.

I assumed it to be just an issue with the weapon I picked (Top Spin), but every weapon I tried to select would not be given.

MM8BDM Discussion / Your least favorite gametype?
« on: March 16, 2016, 03:53:51 PM »
We've had discussions as to what we prefer to do in 8BDM, but what are the game modes that you just can't stand?
For me, I've got to say that Possession and Screw Scramble are the most frustrating. It's always that last second jump that someone gets on me that really grinds my gears.

"One more second to win i-" *BOOM*

"Got like fifty screws to du-" *BLAM*

How about you folks?

...also, please keep it civil. There's no wrong answers here.

Mega Man Discussion / Your MMX ROM can now have custom music.
« on: March 27, 2015, 01:32:15 PM »
As in, CD quality music.

Quote from: "Protodude's Rockman Corner"
The Super Nintendo homebrew scene has been having a blast with byuu's MSU-1 chip. It's an aftermarket cartridge expansion chip (similar to the SuperFX) that allows native playback of CD quality audio. With it, modders were able to recently add streaming CD audio and full motion video to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Natively! Today, the chip is breathing new life into Mega Man X.

This article is actually a couple months old, but I noticed it just today and that nobody mentioned it here.

Thoughts on this? I'm personally gonna give it a shot later.

Perhaps other MM games on the SNES will receive this treatment? One can only hope.

MM8BDM Discussion / User accounts and MM8BDM: What can we make of this?
« on: September 29, 2014, 05:17:52 PM »
So, Blazko mentioned something about Zandro 1.3 coming out soon, and I decided to search around the Zandronum forums, much to my surprise something potentially big caught my interest.

If I'm reading the alpha's patch notes correctly, there appears to be an online database for Zandronum which allows for storing data, as well as the addition of an optional user account system.

This all has me thinking, how could 8BDM take advantage of these new features? I'm not entirely sure how the database works, but if what few hunches I have of it are correct, this could open up a whole world of potential for modding. May it be statistics (Target Test records saving after a server closes?) or gametypes with long term progression of some sort.

What do the rest of you folks think of these new and upcoming features?

Events / [LIVESTREAM] Turbo's streams!
« on: September 10, 2014, 10:00:58 PM »
OKAY SO
Rather than making a couple hundred threads per stream, I'm just gonna post this big thread here.

For those who don't know, this is my unprofessional little livestream where I play old games. I tend to play quite a bit of Doom, so check it out if you're a fan!
The stream can be found at this link~

This coming Friday, my plan is to finish up what I was playing last stream: Final Doom with DoomRPG. After this I'm gonna take a break from streaming Doom and focus on other games.

The stream will be held at 9 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. Hope to see you all there!

Hey, Cutstuff! It seemed that last stream of mine was quite a hit, so I'm gonna try doing this more often now!

Tonight, I'll be streaming TNT: Evilution, the first and objectively easier part of Final Doom with the DoomRPG and DoomRL Arsenal mods!

The stream will be at 9 PM Eastern Standard.

And here's the stream link~!

Hope to see you there!

Events / [LIVESTREAM] ...What the (literal) hell is this?
« on: August 31, 2014, 05:03:05 PM »
SO
Some of you may have seen me pop in the various Skype chats, posting spontaneous streams here and there throughout the summer.

My summer vacation is now coming to a closure, and senior year will be kicking me in the rear, so I decided to get one last big livestream.

What am I going to be playing? A very crazy ZDoom mod known as Reelism!
A good way to describe Reelism is 60-second rounds of Smash TV-like running and gunning in randomly generated situations. You could be toting shotguns against a wave of robots, or doing your best to survive a swarm of exploding Imps in a Turok-style fog, all in tune with a huge assortment of classic vidya music.

The livestream link will be here!

The stream will start at 9 P.M. Eastern Standard.

Hope to see you there!

Events / [CLASSES] "Back to Basics" (ALL SLOTS FILLED)
« on: April 21, 2014, 05:21:30 PM »
Hey, everyone! Some of you may know that it's been some time since the last competitive Classes event happened. I want to change that!

This event, as suggested by the title is a bit more old fashioned than some of the more recent tournaments. We've had a lot of interesting changes to the ever familiar game type, such as draft picks, or changes to the pace of the game itself. Though all of these are fun and exciting in their own right, I think it'd be time to go back to our roots for old times sake. With this I hope not only to bring back some good memories of way back when, but to also open up with a more lenient system to invite a broader audience.

The tournament will be done in a typical 'Double Elimination' bracket. You got your winner's bracket, and your loser's bracket. There will be deadlines set for each stage of the tournament, those who neglect their match until said deadline will be disqualified. If you wish to back out of the tournament prematurely for any reason at all, please contact me immediately and I will allow your opponent to advance.

There are no longer any prizes due to the time taken for this tournament. I hope you all enjoy yourselves for the matches coming, however!

Events / [LIVESTREAM] Turbo's Ultra Combo of Fighters!
« on: January 17, 2014, 08:27:25 PM »
Heyo, guys! This may be kinda short notice, but it just occurred to me that I didn't really advertise this idea I've had for a while now on here yet. As one would guess, I am in fact playing a bunch of fighting games, but mostly ones that are sort of obscure, practically unheard of, or just plain weird or unique. Expect some hidden gems, a few MK knockoffs, and others!

To kick off the stream, I'm gonna be playing something that isn't exactly...obscure, but certainly not the most popular, that being Killer Instinct. I don't mean the downgraded SNES port, I mean the real deal. The arcade version!

As for the games in general, this is how I'll play them to keep things interesting:

1: The difficulty must be set to /at least/ default settings, I can up the difficulty if I want/feel necessary, but I cannot tone it down once it goes up.
2: I will be limiting myself to 5 continues per game. If I cannot beat the game within 5 continues, I lose…unless the stream audience requests I continue.
3: Because the new years stream was such a hit with challenges, I decided to bring them back with this: If the stream requests a character, I HAVE to pick them if at all possible, no exceptions or bias from me.

The stream will be at 6:30 PM Eastern time, and you can find it as always here!

If anybody has suggestions for fighters to play on stream, I'll try and get them to work too, hope to see you folks there!

Events / [Livestream]Turbo blindly plays through Mega Man X8 (SUNDAY)
« on: June 13, 2013, 06:49:50 PM »
Earlier today I thought to myself. "Gee, I haven't done a stream in a while."
I guess now that I'm out of school it's time to fix that.

On Sunday 9 PM EST (May or may not change) I shall attempt to play through X8 as thoroughly as possible.
Let it be known that I've seldom played the game yet, so I will probably die, a lot.

The stream url is the same as last time when I streamed for Smash's MM x SF event.

I may or may not be able to talk during the stream, but either way, I hope those who are interested will enjoy.

Events / [FINISHED] Turbo's Movie Night: Wreck It Ralph
« on: March 06, 2013, 12:43:35 PM »
Today, I will have in my possession a copy of Wreck It Ralph, and what better way to enjoy it then with a stream!
EDIT: This is done and over with, thanks to all who came!

So if you haven't seen the movie yet, today's your lucky day!

I'll obviously update this when things happen.

Anything Goes / What are your hopes and dreams?
« on: January 04, 2013, 11:43:30 AM »
The clouds have passed, it's 2013, a worldwide apocalypse theory has left us with expected results, and the road to tomorrow is bright as day. How do you wish to walk this path?

I've always considered myself a dreamer, almost always looking into the future and hoping for the best. Some people dream of having a nice family, others dream of being a billionaire or having successful jobs.

So, Cutstuff, let me ask you...What are some of your hopes and dreams?
It can be small, like excelling on something you're working on, or obtaining something you've always wanted, or it can be  big like having a successful future or discovering something fantastic.

Let's not make this too silly and post about how you want to see pigs fly, or how you want to rule the world with Servbots.

Come on, now, I want to hear your thoughts for the road ahead!

Have that game you've played that nobody or hardly anybody you know, knows what the heck it is?
I'm sure you have at least one or two.

I'll start with this one:

The WWW board / Tumblr, anyone?
« on: October 10, 2012, 11:44:38 AM »
So, How many of you have tumblr blogs, Cutstuff?

If you have one, post the link here. If you don't, why not consider making one? It's fun just to take a few minutes and see all sorts of new stuff involving things you've followed. May it be video games, music, or practically any hobby or interest, you're sure to find it on Tumblr.

Now, to stop myself from sounding like a walking advertisement, here's mine. Nothing too fancy, but it gets the job done:
