The story of Quint in this game is a tad tragic, and it's intended to be.

BASICALLY. Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch's main character is not Mega Man. It is you, the Player, who is the hero. This game takes place after Mega Man 6 and its story completely overwrites everything that happened afterwards.

A number of years pass, with you, the Player, being regarded as the greatest robotic hero the world has ever seen.
This part is me speculating, but it's implied that Dr. Wily points out that Mega Man is no longer the greatest hero and that he was supposed to be, and that the world had forgotten the greatness Mega Man had once been a part of.
You crushed the life of a powerless Mega Man and stole the glory from right under his nose.

Mega Man, having been modified into Quint, returns to the past and attempts to return the timeline to the way it should be, by removing you.

At the end of the fight, Quint dies, having lived the past several years of his life in your shadow. A mere scrap of the robot he used to be.

I may have exaggerated a little bit, but that's what I gathered from the story.
Don't you feel good about yourself for beating this game's super boss?

Spark Shock is technically worse than Top Spin. It's not a good stunning tool, considering if you switch out of it while an enemy is stunned, it immediately becomes unstunned. It's only ever good against Magnet Man.

I noticed that MM4DW1 is a reskinned version of an older version of MM1FIR.

Closed / Minor Bug: MM7SLA's Bot List has a typo.

When you're playing Slash Man's Stage in the Campaign, Pharaohman is apparently supposed to appear, but the bot list has his name misspelled as "Pharoahman," causing a minor error and causing Pharaohman to not show up.

I have not checked to see if any of the other stages have any similar errors, but we'll need to check, just in case.
