CONQUEST OF MECHANUS

Hi there. Welcome to a new forum game story thing inspired by similar things the mid-2010s community did here. This game would play out like a turn-based RPG.

Playstyle: Harold's a supportive dude so he isn't that offensive, His weapon of choice is the Water Gun.

Water Shield: Creates a water shield that protects the selected ally for 2 turns, Lightning will pierce & destroy the shield. POW: 0 PRB: 95 ELE: WTR ENR: 10

This... actually doesn't look half-bad. Consider me surprised.

It sounds like the elements have a fixed weakness order, like in Pokemon or Mega Man Battle Network. If that is indeed the case, how does the order go?
Also, can a player/enemy unit have no element? (Mettaurs, Cannon battlechips, etc. are "Null" element, which takes neutral damage from everything.)

Actually, there are no weakness orders here. Sorry. I originally intended to make a Pokemon-styled weakness system, but I scrapped it after realising I can't compromise making a balanced elemental system while making it still make sense.

Also, as for a non-element player, I guess it would work if it made sense with the character and abilities. I guess only the user knows...

So it's more like Etrian Odyssey or something, where weaknesses are on a per-unit basis? Like, this green slime is weak to Lightning but this blue slime is weak to Metal, despite both slimes using mainly Water attacks.

And speaking of Pokemon, I noticed there wasn't information on basic attacks, only a placeholder formula for special moves. Does this mean that all attacks are technically "special moves", like in Pokemon?

The weakness thing is pretty... Yeah... Different weaknesses per enemy unit.

As for basic attacks, I'll edit the main post on that.

Appearance: Black hair in a pomp. Black clothes. Black Tattoos. Wearing at least 10 belts and an eye patch as accessories, as well as a broken ankle chain.
Likes: 9 inch nails, being badass, anarchy, alcohol, 9 inch nails (the band), satanism, stepping on legos
Dislikes: Vegetables, the color pink, boy scouts, friendship
Primary element: Dark
Playstyle: Offensive.
Weapons:
Unlimited supply of disposable katanas
Bare fists
Abilities:
Swordsmanship. Kung Fu,  Dark Magic, Teleportation, Shark Taming

Tl;dr specializes in hitting single targets harder than a sock full of quarters. Slays enemies with high attack power and precision, and goes for the vitals for critical hits. Also calls upon the powers of the dark lord to make himself darker and edgier. Lacks speed and defense.

Appearance: Silver hair, sideswept bangs with red tip, purple hoodie, sometimes wearing a lab coat when experimenting, but keeping the hoodie for some reason

Personality: Young scientist prodigy who created energy gloves for battle, capable of manipulating every creation of her, kind of a psychopath when experimenting succesfully

Element: Metal

Playstyle: Ashie sits in the back lines, can deliever punches with her fists, increasing them in size for the period of the attack, also has a whole arsenal of machineguns, pistols, missiles and pocket army that can summon using energy from her gloves
 
Offensive role, mage style, but with Heavy Metal, some of her attacks induce certain weaknessess in exchange of firepower and PRB, has low endurance for direct hits

ATK: 7
INT: 55

This is one hell of a sting operation.

Name: Yellow Jack
Appearance: A disheveled, lanky old man wearing a gaudy yellow beekeeping veil, a black-and-yellow striped shirt, a pair of black cargo shorts, black socks that are entirely too long, and a modest pair of brown loafers. His backpack doubles as a synthetic beehive and also a repository for his bug net and endless jars of honey.
Personality: Old. Crotchety. Always has something to complain about. Longingly reminisces of "the good ol' days." Enjoys bees.
Element: Nature
Playstyle: Jack commands an army of angry bees. He can wield them to attack by releasing them as an aimless swarm, or he can order them into formation to attack with a sword made of bees, wear bee armor, and the like. He can also throw jars of honey to affect enemies with sticky debuffs, or outright consume them to restore health.

He's a really tall skinny skeleton with red eyes and one of them is big and one of them is not so big

Personality: He really likes to boner people
by which I mean he annoys people until they make big fat boners

fail, miscommunication, error...

Primary element: Water

Playstyle: He specialises in being really useless and annoying - he has low endurance, low attack, low power, low int, and low accuracy
I repeat
he is not good at anything
except annoying his team and the enemy and maybe status debuffs

Abilities: He can shoot the Raging Boner (a rocket-propelled femur) and release lasers from his eyes
However the lasers are just laser pointers and don't do anything
He can also stretch his limbs but they tend to flop about uselessly and get stuck everywhere

EDIT: here are some ways he can annoy people

* Distract enemies with laser pointers or shine them in their eyes
* Stretch his arm out past someone and tap them on the opposite shoulder to make them turn the wrong way
* Make a really bad pun about bones
