Resetting the dragon would most likely imply that the whole ender dimension gets reset, aka it loads a new one when you enter it and are required to defeat the dragon to get out. Hm, and that reminds me, i read the egg was a temporarely portal out, not a permanent one, i could be wrong but in the case it is temporarely a reset would certainly be in people's favour, if they want to get the achievement online.

Hm, and some poorly picked mods can be horrible indeed, lets hope it wont ever come to that, it was bad enough to warrant leaving said game just because the admins where complete idiots.
Fun times though when the server's systems shut down and only the raw game itself worked, causing everyone to frenzy and some others formed a group to defend themselves from attackers, quite litterally using a fortress to defend themselves. Of course afterwards admins would back on with their regular kicking/I-am-God behaviour.

Well chugga made a bit monster-killing device pillar thing near the starting zone, so if you see a extremely tall stone pillar with a box on top in the sky, you're nearby.

And that is why i highly suggested monitoring software/mods. My store is no stranger to thieves either, and any such activities will just become undoable untill we can and will actively deal with thieves.

Well, if there is any for chests, at the very least... I certainly hope there is. I recall you had one monitoring and altering blocks destoyed by players, so chests cant be that easily an exception... :P

Oh, and i suggest you hide your valuables in some secret rooms, or buried chests. Its not perfect, but its better then nothing. Pistons do greatly in the right hands to make it as accesible as putting a switch on a surface, using it and the secret room is open.

There are server-side modifications out there which allow you to lock your chests, as well as logging and backup tools to hinder/prevent people from griefing.  Installing any one of these would probably be a good idea, if these thievery and harmful shenanigans become a huge, recurring problem.  Until then, complex traps or secret rooms work quite well in deterring people from stealing your valuables.  Or, if you have room, just grab your valuable crap from your chests and hold it on your person when you log out.  That makes it physically impossible to steal from you, though does very little to stop people from killing you and taking your stuff while you're actually online.  Then again, if you have a wealth of goodies, chances are you can defend yourself from a would-be mugger.  I hear the Poison enchantment does quite a number on people and mobs alike.  :x

Critical Edit: Oh god oh god oh god, I don't even know what just happened!!  Alright, there's a big building on a snowy hill a bit away from the town, right?  It has a pink-wooled sheep and a sheered sheep in a pen up top.  Well, I went into there and started poking around, looking for an egg for a Cake recipe.  As I was looking for a bucket to borrow to get a third thing of milk, a Creeper casually waltzes downstairs from the observatory.  Before I can even react, it blows the feck up and takes out practically every chest in the area!  I spent five minutes trying to cram everything back into chests, but I'm afraid some stuff may have been lost...  Whoever lives up there, A. fortify your damn observatory, and B. I'm really, really sorry if you're missing a chunk of inventory.  >_<  I'd only intended to borrow an egg and a bucket, not cause property damage and lose a crap-ton of inventory, if I did...

Critical Edit 2: Today's going to be a day dedicates to fixing messes I made, isn't it?  On top of possibly losing a chunk of the above person's, I also let the cows out of Solarblast5's public range... and got three cows and a calf (I was breeding them) blown up by a Creeper.  Which also blew up one side of the pen.  -_-  Today is not a good day to be DocLithius.  All I wanted was a cake and some god damn beef!

Wow... God damn those Creepers eh? I always told everyone they're the ultimate scum of the world, just look what they did, and can do! Hence i light my properties like they're a neon sign or a christmas tree, yet that only partly stops them from spawning there. They practically cheat...

Well i hope you put down a sign as well, i can only guess not everyone keeps up-to-date on the forums as well.
Hm, i could help anyone with the how-to on making a secret room with a 6-piston entrance, completely undetectable without any er, cheating, if i happen to be on.

Edit: Stories like these make my day though, guess everyone tends to have 'that day' on Minecraft every once in a while.

So, i was thinking, Do you think we could use the animal bikes mod on the server? or portal gun? The're both Grief free (if you configure animal bikes right) And are Built for smp.

Plus, The Enderdragon (Cant destroy land, dont worry) and the pony can fly.
