i hope if the new update is there more people see this game and gonna playing.
is sad if you are on the order way of the world and the only time you can play is 10:00 pm .
its a good fan made game and its got extra,s like cscc and saxlon hale (and more what i enjoy :) )

No.  7 and 8 come after 1-6, but the main storyline still concludes after Gamma with the next two being their own entities.

The way I see it, if we're ever going to make everything cohesive, it'll be after MM10 is completed.  There's no sense in continuously changing the story just so it ends on the latest addition only to add yet another chapter.  For the moment, though, it works better to say "THE END.  Now there's some extra missions you got for beating the game!" than "THE END.  No wait, that wasn't the end of the story, NOW it's the end of the story.  NO WAIT, NOW it's the end of the story.  Wait a second, there's a bit of the story we left out from last time, HERE'S the ending.  NO WAIT!"

The whole trophy part is actually supposed to be remains of the player used. It said when it reached the date of being scraped by law (MM9 Reference), instead of being turned into scrap metal. They actually used it's parts into gold and kept in a memorial place because of it's efforts to stop Wily in MM8BDM.

And all of that scraping it into a trophy part is many years later.

While for the MM7 and MM8's chapters. That's probably just a happening that happened directly after Wily's attempt to takeover in the MM6 chapter. Or atleast it happened 6 months after the 2nd Tournament.



But for a game like MM8BDM. We really could care less about plot.

Ok, so...

The original campaign shows both the results of the tournament AND the final fate of the deathmatch tourney robot.

The extra campaigns are "what if" scenarios where the rest of the games take place in a DM spinoff instead of the canon Jump-N-Shoot stage games. That is, they happen right after the main campaign, but way before the deathmatch tourney robot's expiration date.

By itself, MM8BDM is entirely a fan made retelling of what happened after MM6 and Wily's capture, adding the Mr. X character as a real person.

I'd be fine if the post-MM6 expansions had their own story and left off on "To be continued..." until MM10 when it finishes up. It would be a bit of an episodic thing, and leave players curious as to what would happen in the next expansion. Actually, this could be applied to the main story as well; for instance, after beating Yellow Devil in MM1 you're given a bit of information about the fight, be greeted by a "To be continued..." screen, and then get clearance for the Mega Man 2 tournament.

I'd even be fine if each post-MM6 chapter had its own unique, self-inclusive storyline. You'd still have the main MM1 to MM6 story, then a Mega Man 7 chapter with its own mini-plot, character events, and boss, then a Mega Man 8 chapter with a mini-plot and dialogue of its own, and so on. That way the need for "tie-ins" after MM10's release is minimized, and it offers a more "complete" experience for each expansion at the expense of having 1 main story and 4 "side stories" as opposed to 1 giant story (MM1 to MM10) or a story and its sequel (MM1 to MM6 then MM7 to MM10).

However, what I'm not fine with is the extra expansions dropped on the player with little to no explanation and THEN being accessible only when you clear the main storyline. If Mega Man 8 was locked, sure that would be acceptable if you could get to it after clearing Mega Man 7 for the reason of lacking a plot, but the way it sounds now it just seems sort of a mess.

Just trying to make the campaign less of a slog, is all. :ugeek:

Well, regardless, we're at the bug testing phase at this point so what we've got storyline-wise now is what you're going to get.  Maybe next time we'll (or whoever is in charge will) change it up.  Either way, the campaign's seen enough changes for one expansion and we're not delaying it now for plot reasons.
