Pokemon Cutstuff Region (YD's mad that nobody posts)

So apparently I'm working on a Pokemon fangame where I intend to have the region based on Cutstuff's community. The engine I'm using is Pokemon Essentials, which is a really really good replica of the main cartridge games, gameplay-wise, it's made for RPG Maker XP though.

Alot of people in Cutstuff would be either trainers or Pokemon. Not everyone will get the roles of a Pokemon, it really depends on how known they are, I still want to use the Gen 1-4 Pokemon in, since they were already programmed in the engine used. Gen 5, I do want in too, since they're part of Pokemon as well.

As of the region itself it is, it's still in WIP process, with no planned names and gym themes yet. And it's using FR/LG tiles. Only 2 routes and 3 cities/towns are made so far.

This is a really early prototype, so the tile usage may be very different in the final. And I'm starting it by making a layout of some sorts for the region.

Now what exactly you guys can contribute?:
1 - Request to be Minor Trainer or have a Pokemon Role (Throughout PMs)
2 - Suggest things on who should be who in roles list
3 - Beta/Alpha Testers
4 - Database Editors (To make it more closer to Gen 5, since apparently the engine has customizable txt files for Pokemon data and other stuff which vary on the gens. Too tedious for me.)
5 - Spriters (Whatever it's for tiles, or making Gen 4-5 Pokemon R/S/E styled, otherwise they clash and stuff if I just use Gen 4/5 and 3 sprites together.)

And other things that don't really pop in my mind right now.

Q: Can I be a Beta Tester?
A: You can be! But don't expect to get the latest beta so soon.

Q: Can I be a *Insert Gym Leader/Elite Four/Important Role here*
A: It really depends on the way people think of you. Important Roles are usually done something as of respect for a person. Only certain people in Cutstuff actually fit for it. So don't expect it to be given like free candy, however if you want to appear in this game, keep reading the FAQs.

Q: This seems a bit crazy, how exactly you plan to fit all the Pokemon in this game?
A: Since the region is consisted of two sub-regions, and there's basically going to be alot of routes and splitting paths, we'd actually have enough room to fit all the normal kinds of Pokemon in this game. Finding the legendaries from offical games actually another story, which I won't spoil just yet.

Q: What Starter Pokemon we can choose?
A: Basically you can pick one of the 3 starters from any Gen, that being Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott.

Q: Will this have Dream World?
A: No.

A: Sorry, but you got no room to be in anyways. We're only adding custom pokemon for the Legendaries. And the slots are already full anyways. Even if it's full, you'd have to be extremely known to Cutstuff to actually get in.

A: I killed it. And I'm doing this now.

Q: Why do you need Generation III styled sprites for Gen 4 and 5 Pokemon?
A: Simply put, they clash weirdly together and I really don't really feel like replacing all the pokemon sprites to Gen 4 or 5 style, that from what I seen. The Gen 4 sprites that initially were in the engine are poorly resized.

(1/8/13):: [NOW]
So apparently today marks the day when Pokèmon X and Y is announced. And that means we got more Pokèmon to use now (Even though it was just only announced with 5 Pokèmon). And naturally for someone like me whose leading this project.

This is defiantly a want for me to use, but the chatroom of Cutstuff Region argues whatever or not we should use them. After what we did with the process of inserting Gen 5 Pokèmon. The only problem with them is just the backsprites, but however the fandom seems to the work for me.

So I'm questioning. How should I execute the new starters?

Not really much updates. But.

I'm taking a break with this project for myself. Right now I'm looking for anyone's interested in taking over in making maps, beta testing (Epic's the only guy testing), spriting and fun tile stuff, and other ideas for the plot/game while I'm working on other projects.

Any volunteers are fine. To join, I'm going to need your Skype address, a Dropbox account, and the email used for Dropbox.

The Dropbox should have the current version of the game, a keygen and installer for RPGXP, and a bunch of music stuff. There's also some txt files here and there.

Also Treecko, Cyndaquil, and Mudkip won the starters.

(11/6/12) Starters Poll n' Updates::


I'm deciding I'd just stick to 3 instead of 15 starters. Realizing it would leave me with headaches in making so many versions of HD with every possible team he could have.

But the thing is, I need YOU to vote on which grass, fire, and water starter to make it in. It don't have to be specific gen, it could be a mix actually.

Also it's going to be really soon that we'd have a playable beta soon. I'm working hard polishing the game, and programming at the same time.

(8/11/12) Essentials Update::
Welp an update of Essentials changed everything.

As the screen size is no longer GBA sized. And yes this is the first town.

And now we got a Gen 4 battle screen. HD is Steven for placeholder reasons.

It's ridiculous I'm using Gen 3 overworld sprites/tiles and Gen 4 battle scene. What sanity is this?

And a few other screens in this game were actually changed.

So technically no need for the spriters who would have to sprite the Gen 4-5 pokemon to Gen 3 style. That never actually got started though.

And Epic is now doing DS renditions instead of GBA. So yeah, I think we don't have to be limited to GBA style.

7/26/12: TM Contest:
So okay after a fair amount of working, remapping, and programming shit. I can safe to say it's time to decide to hold a contest thingy.

So what's the contest? Simple as it sounds, it's a contest on who can come up with the best list of Technical Machines.

The only rules would be that you won't able to decide the HM moves, and don't feel limited to the moves that was a TM move before, try thinking of moves outside TMs. To contribute, just PM me your ideal list and the best list would obviously make it into the game.
