Not only does this look like a good replica, it actually looks like a very fun map to play DM on. Good work.

Also, yeah, that tree is hideous.

I think he's asking why Triple Blade isn't in Blade Man's stage.

Yeah, I figured that after I made that post!

As for the answer, Triple Blade was made long after that map was released.

Meanwhile, the map was updated with Triple Blade for the X Pack.

Told you that tree is ugly as heck.  Thank you, the goal was to try to have nostalgia and a good layout simultaneously, hence why I picked Whomp's Fortress over any other Super Mario 64 stage (that, and it's my favorite).

And as Korby stated, The X Pack version of Blade Man's stage has Triple Blade as well as a slightly reworked back section of the castle.

Whomp's Fortress is done!

I imagine there must be something special at the top.

I think X pointed out somewhere that Star Crash is at the top.

Yes, I pointed that out. It's Star Crash because that's where (arguably) the most recognizable star was.

I made a new map today!  I'm on a roll!

Deathmatch map - Sand Sea

Here is the outside main area.  The entire center of the map is a giant quicksand pit.  Being near the outside slows you down a little bit.  As you go further towards the center, you sink more and walk slower.  Hit the different textured center and you die.

NOTE - Quicksand is the same texture as regular sand, but moves.  The fast it moves, the deeper it is/the slower you move.

Random room inside the temple.

While it looks like there's a lot of platforming involved, the only true death area is the center of the pit, so there's still plenty of open area to fight in.  I'm not sure whether I like this map or don't like it.

D-d-d-double post.

I finished my 3rd map in 3 days!

Deathmatch Map - Alpha Sector

Story time!  Back in the good old SGC Demo days where there were only 4 maps and Quick Boomerang was one of the hottest weapons (why, I don't know, we all just seemed to rush for it in Metal Man's stage), I was trying to make my first map.  It was basically a remix of Skull Castle Interior.  It was going fine until I made a small boo-boo and deleted half of my work with no way to fix it.  Whoops.  Naturally, I rage-deleted it.  A few weeks later, I started Blade Man and that became my first map ever.

So, until last night, I actually forgot about that map.  Once I remembered it, I decided to try to remake it from memory (albeit with a few slight adjustments).  To add to the nostalgia, I only put in weapons and items from the SGC Demo (and by items, I mean none) and I only used textures from the demo (and by textures, I mean Skull Castle Interior since the 4 demo levels kind of clashed when put together).  And so, I made Alpha Sector.  Sure, it's not the prettiest map in the world, but from testing it plays surprisingly well for being a very very old design.

To fit with the "good old days" theme, the song for the stage is an old song I made in a midi maker a few years ago remixed into a Mega Man style song.

Sweet. It'll be good to go back to the SGC days.

Does it have the SGC Needle Cannon? 'cause that would be nostalgia overload.

That's a no on that one.  I don't want to add any more new weapons beyond Triple Blade so Mess (and anybody else) can run both the Ivory pack and the X Pack on a dedicated Map Pack server.

Plus, I'm sick of doing weapons stuff.  Unless it's a class, I don't want to do it.  I also hated the SGC Needle Cannon with a passion.

EDIT:  I also forgot the small problem that is I don't have the SGC Demo any more.

I wasn't around during the SGC demo days, so I won't be getting much nostalgia from this!

Still looks genuinely fun, though
