Title: MM8BDM ON ANDROID!!! *works*
Post by: Bitblocker on June 03, 2020, 11:09:08 AM
Ok so lets get into it... ALL OF THE LINKS HAVE TO BE OPENED ON YOUR ANDROID PHONE/TABLET.

PART 1 - INSTALLATION AND SET UP

1: Get 'Delta Touch' here ---> https://www.youtube.com/redirect?q=https%3A%2F%2Fmega.nz%2F%23%21XqRGzSrZ%2147YUTCMspldAZyEnCdzjCBfp4kjMi7i9tXl7A0-b3qs&event=comments&redir_token=TWmyslV3r0b9Cd1idy_Jq0iaXI58MTU5MTI2ODgyOUAxNTkxMTgyNDI5&stzid=UgwWVMQhHtQ-yvyo5Vd4AaABAg.9-_IttIgaCz9-zfZ-63VnF (didn't realise its invalid, sorry for inconvenience)

You can also buy the source port on Google Play or any other source.

2: Get MM8BDM.
3: Download ZArchiever (or your favourite file explorer) on your phone.
4:In your file explorer, install Delta Touch FIRST. Do this to get the required folder, then open the app, then close it.
5: In the MM8BDM Folder, extract 'megagame.wad' to OpenTouch/Delta.
6: Extract 'MM8BDM-xxx.pk3 to OpenTouch/Delta/mods.
7: Open Delta Touch, and tap on the arrow on the LEFT side of the screen. Choose the Green Icon, which is Zandronum.
8: Highlight 'megagame.wad' and click on the keyboard icon.
9: Choose the icon to the left of the 'X' icon and select 'MM8BDM-xxx.pk3. Tap OK.
10:Get out of the mods and wads screen, then you are done! Tap the red arrow, then SKIP.

PART 2 - CONTROLS
THIS CAN GET CONFUSING SO PAY ATTENTION!!!

1: Go into Story Mode. When Dr.Light tells you to configure your controls, press back, the icon in the top-left.
2: Click on the gear icon, it should be in the top somewhere. When you have, the screen should be tinted yellow. Click on the blue sliders.
3:Select Hide/Show Buttons.
Things that should be enabled:

SHOW MENU
ATTACK
QUICKSAVE
QUICKLOAD
SHOW MAP
SHOW KEYBOARD
JUMP
ALTFIRE
SHOW CUSTOM
NEXT/PREVIOUS WEAPONS
CONSOLE

3:Exit out of that menu. You can choose what your setup looks like. Yellow boxes indicate where you can tap. You can stretch and squeeze things and move them around to your liking.
4: Custom things like items will now be covered. Click on the 'Show Custom' button, not in the Control Placement screen (when the screen is tinted a yellow). Go into Hide/Show buttons. You will need 3/4 CUSTOM BUTTONS AND ONE QUAD SLIDE. MOVE THEM TO YOUR AREA OF LIKING AND RESIZE THEM.
5: Go to the MM8BDM menu and go to Options, then Custom Controls. With your Quad Slide, change move forward, backward, left and right.
Now for the other ones.

USE ITEM
NEXT ITEM
PREVIOUS ITEM

These should be mapped to your other custom buttons.

Other things like chasecam can be done too, but I won't cover that.

6:Choose the show customs button. For stage select, use the quad slide.
7:Start Playing. Offline can be also used.

PART 3 - MULTIPLAYER

1: Open MM8BDM on your PC and host a server.
2: Go to the keyboard icon on the delta touch menu.
3:Make sure, apart from MM8BDM-xxx.pk3, YOU HAVE THE SAME MODS AND WADS AS THE PC SERVER, IN THE SAME ORDER.
4: On the PC server, remember the IP address on the bottom of the console.
5: Go to Delta Touch and in custom args, put in the IP address like this

+connect ip:port example - +connect 101.101.0.10:2020

6: Start playing. Same as last time, red arrow, then SKIP.
7:When you have finished online, go into custom args and then 'X'.

FYI - The Guts Dozer will be glitched in a way.

Questions.

Q: Can you use other mods and maps?
A: Yes, put them in the mods folder, make sure MM8BDM is loaded first.

Q:It doesn't work!!!
A:Respond to me with the exact problem and I will try my best.

Q:Can I use preset mods configurations?
A:Yes, use the small clock icon in the mods and wads/custom args menu.

Thanks for reading! Hope it works!

I think it's pretty fascinating. Do any noticable hiccups or bugs happen on mobile?

Actually was trying to use this recently and connect to servers, but I think with TSPG's recent updating of ZDR version, Delta Touch is out of date with no manual way to update the version of Zandro that it comes with as far as I could see. Would like to be proven wrong on that though.

The only noticable bug is the Guts Dozer, in which it's wheels are tilted to the side.

I wouldn't try to connect to servers, although the developers do work on updating Zand. If you want to get your hands messy, you could try to replace the newest version of Zand with the one on Delta Touch.

Actually, just turns out I was using the wrong version of Zandro in Delta Touch, it offers two versions and most TSPG servers are now on the one that it labels as Zandronum 3.0. I assume once they go back to trying development builds of the next version, that's when the 3.1 Alpha version would work.

You got the idea. Anyway, did Parts 1,2 and 3 work for you? Do you need any help?
