Title: The order you beat the Robot Masters in Megaman
Post by: Alucard on January 12, 2011, 07:55:53 PM
Quote from: "scrotoman.exe"
I didn't know until fairly recently that the common way to play MM2 is to beat Metal Man first and use his weapon throughout the whole game. Growing up I somehow got the idea or heard somewhere that you had to do him last because he was unbeatable without the Quick Boomerang. Of course, now it's well known that this isn't the case, but back then (i.e. when the game was new) it wasn't like you could just hop on Gamefaqs and have the in and outs of every game laid out for you.

Also didn't know about how if you pause in MM3 right when Protoman shows up you can hear the extended version of his whistle and not just the first few notes.

AAAND I must say that "W" thing all the robots do in their artwork is creepy and first I thought it was some secret Illuminati thing, but of course, it must stand for Wahwee.

The way I go is beat Airman first, since Airman is weaker to Arm Cannon than Metalman, and Item-2 can allow you to get the 2nd E-Tank and 1-Up in Metalman's stage.

... (cheezy face) :)

I deserved that.

On the topic of MM2 boss orders, the way I always did it was Bubble Heat Wood Air Crash Flash Quick Metal. Not optimum but I think some kid at school convinced me to do it like that.

Or Flashman first (because he is easy), or Airman for the item 2.

For mm1, It's gutsman, for mm3, Topman i think, but i prefer Shadowman for the Shadowblade

Often, i begin by the robotmaster with the weapon i prefer! After, i use a lot this weapon:

Airshooter, Firestorm, Shadowblade, Flash Stopper (so great in mm4) xD

Really? For MM1, my order is:
Bombman gutsman Cutman Elecman Iceman Fireman

That way you can get past all the bosses without having to revisit Elecman's stage.

For MM3 I start with Hardman. Mainly because they kill those damn cats in Topman's stage so quickly.

For MM4...I've never even beaten Toadman because of those goddamn snails.

For MM5 I start with Stoneman

For MM6 I start with Centaurman.

The way to do MM3 is start w Needleman, you get his bitchin auto gun and the Rush Jet right off.

My order:
Megaman: Cutman (He takes a long time to attack and his trolling cutter's path is easy to predict)
Megaman 2: Depending on the difficult and my humor, I take on Metalman or Airman first.
Megaman 3: Shadowman or Geminiman
Megaman 4: Pharaohman
Megaman 5: I don't like it. I'm random on who's my first there.
Megaman 6: Flameman
Megaman 7: Burstman (I want to take that rock out of my shoe first)
Rockman 7 FC: Cloudman or Shademan (Both have easy patterns)
Megaman 8: Tenguman!
Rockman 8 FC: Clownman
Megaman & Bass: Groundman
Megaman 9: Never played, but I'd probably go for Splash Woman first
Megaman 10: Never played, but I'd probably go for Blademan first
Megaman X: Chill Penguin or Storm Eagle
Megaman X2: Crystal Snail or Whell Gator
Megaman X3: Toxic Seahorse
Megaman X4: Magma Dragoon (with Zero) or Web Spider (with X)
Megaman X5: Grizly Slash
Megaman X6: Random
Megaman X7: I'll never play that again
Megaman X8: Maybe Burn Rooster.

For 10 go after Sheepman or Pumpman first. If you go after Sheepman, then go after Pumpman. If you go after Pumpman, go after Solarman next.

1.) Cut Man: Bomb Man would be smarter, but I just love fighting him with the Mega Buster.
2.) Metal Man: Metal Blades = Game is already halfway over.
3.) Top Man: I don't fully understand the usage of his top spin, but he is super easy.
4.) Toad Man: Easy and rain flush is cool.
5.) Gravity Man: Also very easy.
6.) Yamato Man: It is fun to dodge those spear tips.
7.) Freeze Man: Force of habit. I always would pick Freeze Man and Chill Penguin first for no obvious reason.
8.) Clown Man: Hard to get the timing down, but I just can't resist, "See you in my dreams..."
9.) Galaxy Man: I have no explanation. Maybe I just hate Jewel Man.
10.) Blade Man: Avoiding those blades is fun; when you understand the pattern, he is quite easy.
Rock Man and Forte.) Cold Man: All bosses in this game were hard, but Cold Man was less hard.
Wily Tower.) Mega Water S.: I like fighting these guys lamest to coolest. Mega Water is first, Buster Rod G. is last.
Mega Man X.) Chill Penguin: See 7.
X2.) Flame Stag: Silly jumper.
X3: Blizzard Buffalo: As long as you keep moving, he can be beaten by simple contrition. Just wear him out.

MM5; Starman, Gyroman, Chargeman, Napalmman, Waveman, Crystalman, Stoneman, Gravityman
MM6; Knightman, Flameman, Windman, Plantman, Blizzardman, Tomahawkman, Yamatoman, Centaurman.
MM7; Freezeman, Burstman, Cloudman, Junkman, Slashman, Turboman, Springman, Shademan

Title: Re: The order you beat the Robot Masters in Megaman

MM1: Bomb, Guts, Cut, Elec, Ice, Fire (I do Bomb Man first because I like Super Arm crushing Cut Man)
MM2: Metal, Flash Quick, Bubble. Heat, Wood, Air, Crash (I do Quick Man 3rd because I hate him and I want to get him out of the way.
MM3: Top, Shadow, Spark, Magnet, Hard, Snake, Gemini, Needle, Needle Again, Gemini Again, Shadow Again, Spark Again (I go with the Needle Man redo first because I want it done as fast as possible)
MM4: Toad, Bright, Pharaoh, Ring, Dust, Skull, Dive, Drill (Toad Man goes first for obvious reasons. Plus, the Rain Flush is somewhat useful.)
MM5: Gravity, Gyro, Crystal, Napalm, Stone, Charge, Wave, Star (I usually go after either Gravity, Stone, or Charge Man, but because of how useful Gravity Hold is and how much Power Stone and Charge Kick suck, I go with Gravity Man first most of the time.)
MM6: Flame, Blizzard, Plant, Tomahawk, Yamato, Knight, Centaur, Wind )Although Plant Man is the easiest, I go with Flame Man first so that I get the Jet adaptor, pick up the Power adaptor, and then I can get all the Beat Parts.)
MM7: Burst, Cloud, Junk, Freeze, Spring, Shade, Turbo, Slash (Although, you can pull off a funny glitch if you use Noise Crush right before you enter either Spring Man or Turbo Man's rooms.)
Rockman 7 FC: Spring, Shade, Turbo, Burst, Cloud, Junk, Freeze, Slash (Spring Man's the easiest)
MM8: Tengu, Clown, Grenade, Frost, Astro, Aqua, Sword, Search (I go after Tengu Man for the first half because the Tornado Hold is very useful. I also go after Astro Man for the second half because Astro Crush can absolutely destroy Aqua Man)
Rockman 8 FC: I never got around to actually beating it.
MM9: Splash, Concrete, Galaxy, Jewel, Plug, Tornado, Magma, Hornet (As much as I like Splash Woman, she's the easiest robot master in MM9, so I have to go after her first. Besides, the Laser Trident is a very useful weapon)
MM10: Sheep, Pump, Solar, Chill, Nitro, Commando, Blade, Strike (Sheep Man is the easiest robot master in MM10, plus, his Thunder Wool, while practically useless, can get me the Water Shield easily. Which is good, since it's probably the second best weapon in the game.)
MMX: Chill Penguin, Storm Eagle, Flame Mammoth, Spark Mandrill, Armored Armadillo, Launch Octopus, Boomer(ang) Kuwanger, Sting Chameleon (this one is complecated. Even though Shotgun Ice isn't Storm Eagle's weakness, it is Flame Mammoth's weakness. Plus, by defeating Storm Eagle, that makes traveling through Spark Mandrill's stage easier. Same thing with defeating Chill Penguin to make Flame Mammoth's easier and defeating Launch Octopus to make Sting Chameleon's easier.

I couldn't give an order. I don't even follow weakness orders. I just close my eye, hit the control pad randomly and select a random robot master!

Repeat for every robot master in every game.

There's a code for mm7 that unlocks all the robot masters right from the start.

I usually fight the bosses in weakness order (even if doing buster-only runs).

MM1: Bomb Man (would be Cut Man but it's so I don't have to re-visit Elec Man's stage for the adaptor).

MM2: Start with Bubble Man > Heat > Wood > Air > Crash > Quick > Metal > Flash.

MM3: Start with Spark Man > Magnet > Hard > Top > Shadow > Gemini > Needle > Snake (save the best 'till last, lol).

MM4: Toad Man

MM5: Stone Man

MM6: Blizzard Man

MM7: Burst Man

Haven't played 8 or MM&B

MM9: Hornet Man

MM10: Sheep Man

I've played four of the X series.

MMX: Chill Penguin

MMX2: Wire Sponge

MMX3: Crush Crawfish

MMX4: (only played as X) either Web Spider or Frost Walrus.

Usually I fight the easier bosses first, but in this case, Frost Walrus's weapon works well in an annoying mini-boss on Split Mushroom's stage.

Let's see here...
MM1: Cutman, Elecman, Iceman, Fireman, Bombman, Gutsman.
MM2: Metalman, Woodman, Airman, Bubbleman, Crashman, Flashman, Heatman, Quickman.
MM3: Magnetman, Hardman, Top Man (I also sometimes go for him first), Snakeman, Geminiman, Shadowman, Sparkman, Needleman.
MM4: Toadman, Dustman, Skullman, Diveman, Drillman, Brightman, Pharoahman, Ringman (although sometimes I go for Ringman earlier.)
MM4MI: Dive, Drill, Skull, Ring, Bright, Dust, Toad, Pharoah.

Haven't played MM5, MM6 or MM7 yet.

MM8 (FC version): Frost, Clown, Grenade, Sword (though this may be subject to change, as he upgraded), Tengu, Astro, Aqua, Search.
MM9: Splash, Concrete, Galaxy, Jewel, Plug, Tornado, Magma, Hornet.
MM10: I really don't have an order, as they're all easy with the buster now :) .

1. Cut (each Mega Buster does 3 damage)
2. Metal (obviously for his weapon)
3. Gemini (easy pattern)
4. Skull (efficient shield)
5. Star (easy pattern + gives me Rush Jet if I am not wrong)
6. Wind (good weapon for breezing through small annoying enemies)
7. Junk (stage has great music)
8. Grenade (the first time I played Mega Man 8 I assumed he has a barricade breaking weapon)
9. Galaxy (easy pattern & great weapon)
10. Pump (one shield does 12 damage to Solar Man)

1: Bomb,Cut (Both are simple with buster, then to elec for magnet beam so I can beat Guts)
2: Quick (1 shot does 4 damage, but force beams without Flash is tricky)
3:Top, Gemini (The two weakness cycles are confusing)
4: Pharaoh, Toad, Drill (All easy with buster)
5: Star (Only tough to dodge him, not the Crash)
6: Wind (Only because of his awesome theme)
7: Junk, Spring (Freeze is a spaz, normally don't go there, and I have an ongoing feud with Shade because he's a wimp and stays at the top of the screen)
8: Aqua (Not too hard to dodge the balloons and water pillars)
MM&B: Cold (Come on, who doesn't?)
9: Galaxy (Easy, but Quick Draw G takes too much luck)
10: Sheep (Come on, a sheep? He's just asking for it.
Dr. Wily's Revenge: Elec, Flash (Elec's just like jumping rope, and Flash gets two hits with the rolling cutter)
Wily's Revenge 2: Metal, Needle (Everyone beats Metal first, and Needle can be knocked out with some top spinnin')

MM1: Bomb Man.
MM2: Quick Man.
MM3: Magnet Man, then Snake Man in the second chain.
MM4: Bright Man.
MM5: Star Man or Gravity Man.
MM6: Flame Man.
MM7: Burst Man.
MM8: Clown Man.
MM9: Splash Woman.
MM10: Commando Man.

I always start with either the hardest or the one that gives the best utility.

Well I haven't played all the games, but.

MM1: cutman, bombman, gutsman, elecman, iceman, fireman.

I don't know why I do fireman last...

MM2: Heatman, Woodman, Crashman, Metalman, Flashman, Bubbleman, Airman, Quickman.

I wan't crash bomber early, but i don't really like metalblade. so I need leaf shield to get past the danged birds.

MM3: Snakeman, Topman, Magnetman, Hardman, Shadowman, Geminiman, Needleman, Sparkman.

Ehh Needle cannon isn't my fav. neither is spark shot. Sometimes I do Sparkman first though.

MM4: Dustman, Ringman, Toadman, Diveman, Pharoah man, Brightman, Drillman, Skullman.

no real reason to this order. Dustman first cause he's easy, Ring man next for weapon. I honestly have trouble with Toadman.

MM5: Starman, Crystalman, Chargeman, Waveman, Napalmman, Gyroman, Gravityman, Stoneman, Darkman, Darkman, Darkman, Proto... Darkman.

I don't know why stone is last. But I like super arrow alot.

MM6:FlameMan, Plantman, From then on it is whatever I feel like.

Adapters are fun in this game.

Adapters are fun in this game.

You're not like other Megaman gamers. They usually do Gutsman last, because of his platforms, then they have to re-visit elecman, so I do Bombman first.

For MM2, people LOVE Metal Blade, since it kills Metalman in 1-2 hits (depending on mode) AND it fires in 8 directions AND it BARELY uses any ammo.

For MM3, people like Needle Cannon.

For MM4, Toadman is the easiest boss. Hit him when he raises his arms. i just can't get past dat snail though.

In MM5, I start with Stoneman first, since he's the easiest.

And lastly for MM6, I go Centaurman, because my alias before Alucard was Pegacentaur, using the Centaurman skin, his weapon is fun, and he's the only Robot Master in the game I've beaten. i would start with plantman, but his stage is a bitch.
Title: Re: The order you beat the Robot Masters in Megaman
Post by: arkman on February 05, 2011, 06:39:35 PM
Yeah, I do it in order of weapons that I like, with some exceptions.
In megaman 1 i mix it up every now an then, but I always do elecman before Iceman. (shooty platforms, do not want) Ialso want to prove hyperbomb doesn't suck.

I know why people like metal blade, but I don't. I also know that i can get 2 e tanks if i get item-1 or 2 before visiting his stage. I also have no problems with heatman's yokoblocks.

needle cannon is essentially a built in turbo controller, I'd rather blow them a way with one rocket fist then fire a bunch of needles at them. and i have trouble with needle man himself. alas i havn't been able to find a decent use for spark shock. but sometimes i do him first because there are so few enemies in his stage worth shooting.

I reccomend using ring boomerang on the snail. It does good damage, and might hit twice. I fail at toadman, cause I always mistimed the shots, and made him jump at me.  :(
(i don't lose though)

Centaur man is annoying. time freeze, teleportation, and shotgun Ice. His weapon is really cheap and fun though
