So I'm back to messing with MM8BDM, and I'm trying to make two Actors : one that, causes music to be played around it and fade away when you get away from it (like a kind of radio) and the other causing a set of pictures to show up on the screen when getting too close to the Actor, and fading when you get away from it.

I've already figured out the first one ; A_PlaySound should do the trick.
But, for the second one - displaying pictures on a player's screen-, I don't know what could be used. Does someone happen to know?

So I'm coding a little weapon, and I'd like it to have a chance to throw something different at random.
Let's say it's normally firing Dust Crusher bullets, but I want it to have a low chance to throw a Knight Crush spikeball instead, and a even lower chance of throwing a Super Arm block instead of the normal bullet.
 How would I do that? I digged into SH' Scrooge code, seeing he has a random chance of summoning Hogales instead of Mobies, but I don't get it all, even when looking at the zDoom wiki..

Hm. Excuse my bump, but when I open The Moon's texture set, all I get is a DKT folder, with a picture of a chest. Is it supposed to be this way or is my decompression utility screwing up?

EDIT : Nevermind. It works perfectly with anything else than WinACE.

Sorry, Lego, but I don't really get what you're saying. Which sector do I extend : The "sky" sector (the one filled with ! textures), or another one?

EDIT : DB2's overhead view with sectors highlighted. Which one are you telling me to edit? (Don't care about the sector with the Wily logo.)

I'm not at my computer right now, and I'm still a newbie to DB2, but here's a little something that can help : The Heatman map has Yoku Blocks inside the main structure. Export it from the MM8BDM pk3 and take a look at it in DB2. I'm sure that'll help you, or at least give you a hint at how it works. Good luck for your map!

So.. I'm kinda a newbie to DB2, and I've tried to make a rather simple map for a *secret* project. In DB2's view mode, everything looks right..
but once loaded in MM8BDM, a wierd white texture shows up. Rather than describing, here's two screenshots.

In Doom Builder 2 :

I have a little bit of experience with weapon coding and I know it'll take patience, trial, error, hard-work and determination to have it turn out how I want, but my main problem is that I can't even get it to show up in the Player Select menu.

So, I randomly decided to try making a class, for "fun" and a bit of experience.
I opened up the good ol' Class wad to take a look about how it's done, but it's ..kinda messy, and, even using the guide and templates inside, I can't manage to make a new class. I can't find a tutorial about it either. (no thanks to the search function, who sees "classes" as a common word and doesn't want to search for it.)

Soo.. how do make it so a Class can be chosen in the Player Setup, use a particular skin, etc?

I weren't aware of that. :/ I decided to make it using the original sprites BECAUSE I didn't find Quote skins made with them. Oh, well, at least it was some kind of training for me.

Hi! So following a conversation with a fun guy wile I was playing MM8BDM, I've decided to start making some skins.

First up (and first ever):
-Quote (Cave Story) (V1*) Download!

I know there is other Quote skins existing, but that one is made using the original Cave Story sprites and some edits based on said original sprites. It also comes with custom sounds, so pay attention when you get hit or fragged. I had to fight with offsets for a while, I hope you'll enjoy that skin!

(*May upgraded to be prettier or closer in size to the skins in vanilla when I move my lazy butt, so if you really like that skin, come check back from times to times.)

To do next : Curly Brace!
