It's time for another community poll, where the community says what's what! This week's topic is... Slopes!
Yes slopes. You've seen them using in custom MM8BDM levels, but how about seeing them in some of the originals? Sure slopes aren't technically in Mega Man, which is why I stuck to using 32x32 stairs everywhere. But speaking in terms of map flow, having to jump up stairs to get to new areas really breaks up the map flow. Haven't you ever lost a match simply because you couldn't jump your fat robot ass up some tight staircases? With slopes, you could just run up those things and avoid enemy fire without struggling up a staircase. Here's an example of what I'm talking about:

This would not mean all staircases and ladders would be changed. Just the ones that I feel completely break up the map flow (Shadow Man, Centaur Man, Mr. X Fortress etc).
Have a think about all those times you've tripped up stairs in this game and got busted before voting! Poll ends in one week!

I say that both from design and gaming standpoints, so I'm with Korby and Ivory on this. From the design look, the wall textures becomes a botched mess.
While from the gameplay standing, this would cause a horrible catastrophe in games. Both Skilled players, and TROLL's would end too fast in Deathmatch, and cause a flow problem in smaller Team and Duel Modes.

now that i think about it, i think we could use some slopes. they would reallt help but only where they are needed

Stairs shouldnt be the main tactic and/or source of kills by poor gameplay implementation. I mean, do the enemies in the Megaman games rush at you as if they're pumped on kamikaze drugs and ready to explode on you or die trieing while moving at top speed!? In here where the enemies are actually that vile and aggressive the least thing we need is being blocked by a poorly implemented map design(bad stairs) in the heat of battle(or running away/restocking).
Well if you ask me: General Gameplay > Accuracy. Having no more bad stairs should be fine. This reminds me of Santa being implemented in GVH... (off-topic old man-like rambling :P)
The idea had some significant resistance and most people wanted something else, in the end we still got Santa and it just became part of GVH. Though the Engineer later on replaced Santa, mostly same gameplay as Santa but different sprites and similar weapons, too.
By now there's absolutely no resistance to the idea, people just gotten used to it, it remains an optional addon to GVH (one that needs serious fixing, heh).
It will be amusing to see people getting owned indeed if they played those tactics and reasons.
EDIT: Looking forward to a new MM8BDM with slopes/better stairs and whatnot. Perhaps that will revive the european servers, even if just briefly.
