Okay, taking Knux's advice and sticking to schedule. Today offers half of TBGCTF (around 8-9 map), as well as Knux's CTF pack and the NEW versions of some of the compo maps. Hopefully today, we can manage as many folks as GvH and get a lot of good CTF rounds going. Not sure though, but that would be nice.

Last day of Capchella's started now. All maps have been thrown into the mix and the playlist has been set to random. I tried talking to Messatsu about a mode that changed CTF into KOTH, but Mess never gave me back a response. Ah well.

I don't think it was GvH that sole the spotlight the only reason this was not very played. I think most people don't like CTF unless it has classes. That, and this topic feels kind of hidden. All locked up with locks, and buried deep away.

Still, I appreciate you taking your time for this. I had fun with the few games I had.

This. I will upload the demos I took of both days later. Fair warning, they are very long and the max players ,IIRC, was a 6v6 or 5v5.

That is the worst reason I have ever heard.

Honestly, I enjoyed the event even if very few people actually bothered to show up. Personally I'm saying it was GvH sucking away all the players; the server stayed consistently full or pretty darn close to it until Mess finally took it down. Standard CTF is a real treat, and I enjoyed the server, the maps, and the players. Well... most of the players anyway.

If there's another Whateverchella in the future, please don't add classes to it.
My face will become unrealistically distorted with the huge frowny face it will suddenly grow.

Anyway, thanks for (an attempt at) resurging CTF popularity, both with map makers and the player base. I had a blast.

Wadseeker cannot get the necessary wads, and the problem seems to be coming from the bestever website.

Ah, you need to add http://www.best-ever.org/wads/  to your list of wadseeker sites in Doomseeker. I think I should have specified that in the first place. I'll probably redo my installation/online tutorial once v3a comes out, so stay tuned for that.
Well folks, I assume you all had fun without me. Galaxy told me that as many as 24 players went and played on the Capchella server before momentum died down. I'm sad that I wasn't there, but still very thankful that you folks all took the time to play a good round of CTF. Okay, now for some slightly appropriate good-bye music:

I don't know what kind of event I'll have after this. Maybe I'll just stop until next year and continue working on stuff. Or maybe I'll have Modchella, where lots of different obscure mods are showcased throughout a single week. Not sure, to be honest. I definitely know that I should never schedule an event near a project's release, though. That's for certain. So I'll have the improved CTF map link removed (since v3a is close to coming out) and I'll just have this topic locked. If anyone else wants to have their own showcase event where they bring deserved attention to all kinds of wads, then be my guest. My only word of advice is that you keep yourself in contact with a few good hosts who can put up servers for anything you need. Even with 5 different options, I had to resort to asking Mess for a server. Some people really don't like hosting, or probably just don't like me in general. In any case, hope you folks enjoyed yourselves. Now, if you excuse me, I have to go back to my basement and listen to a pile of chiptune vinyls, all labeled "Hipster Crap".
Mods/Admins, please lock this topic.
