I recommend a indie platformer called Lyle in Cube Sector :3. It's a bit short, but hella fun. Kinda based on Doki Doki Panic xD

And of course, Minecraft: probably one of the most interesting and unique FPS I've ever seen. You just need to see it for yourself ;)

BTW, how come nobody has yet mentioned the Spyro PSX trilogy in a thread that contains the words "Crash Bandicoot"? xD

How the heck is it a FPS? It's a Sandbox.

Since there's a lot of Mega Man fans out here. I might as well suggest Rosenkreuz Stillete. a great doujin Mega Man platformer. It's easier then your typical Mega Man game, but the story and gameplay make up for it.

Also the Lost Vikings1&2. A puzzle platformer. It has an amazing soundtrack, awesome gameplay and great dialogue.

Bow and arrow hurr durr. Meh, a first-person-view sandbox game where your main goal is to survive the hostilities of a randomly generated blocky world by collecting resources like iron or coal and crafting them into useful tools, while you fight skeletons with bows, zombies and fluffy creepy monsters that can denotane themselves.

Just to quote this out, because it's common for a lot of people to confuse what an actual FPS is.
"First-person shooter (FPS) is a video game genre which centers the gameplay around gun and projectile weapon-based combat through the first person perspective" -Wikipedia

It's like arguing that Metroid Prime is an FPS. (It's a First Person Adventure) Just because you can shoot, doesn't make it a shooter. I'm done with this argument now.

I also like to recommend a little graphical freeware roguelike known as Elona. But I don't recommend it to anyone. It's a rouguelike afterall. Though not as difficult and deathfriendly as Nethack.

Kingdom of Loathing!

I don't know about how it is now, but it used to be funky back in '07-08

I found a topic on the Steam forums(tf2 section) somewhere that told you how to massively decrease computer memory usage in exchange for less eyecandy. Plus, it looks like a game of Goldeneye now.

By the way, squidgy, there's always DooM,

Really? I heard TF2 runs worse on newer computers for some reason. You can get really low quality skins and turn off particles, you can decrease the graphics so it looks like a phone game!

Actually, I just looked, it can handle it quite well. It meets the minimum requirements, and BARELY doesn't meet the recommended requirements. So I musta read it wrong or somethin'.

Anyway, after looking into it, I plan on buying it. One thing, though: Due to my strict family and my hatred of gore, I searched up this: Clicky. It seems if I followed all these steps, there would be no blood or gore, and instead be random objects. My question is, would this change these things on ALL servers, or just servers I make?
Also, does this game have any bad language at all? I want to know if I should stick with headphones or just have my speakers so my whole family can hear what I'm doing.

EDIT: Oh, while I'm at it, does it come packaged with Steam? I don't plan on getting the OrangeBox, just the game alone.

Steam is free to download.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/440/
That link lets you buy TF2 alone. Nothing else.
And, if you buy it, we can murder each other!
Unless you mean in-store. 'cause if you do, I dunno where to get that.
