Just to contribute to this new forum, here's a quick poll:
What's your fave classic Mega Man game?
Try to give a reason to why it's your fave!
Mines Mega Man 2, because it's the first Mega Man game I actually completed fully! (no thanks to the Metal Blade.

Mega Man 1. It feels ancient and awesome and I love it. It's also the hardest I think, and I love me a good challenge.

Mega Man 3. Has some of my favorite robot masters. A large level count. Also contained some of my favorite themes.

I got bored after three. To be honest, the original megaman series was super repetitive.

Gotta go with 3. Good music and nice robots. Story made no sense though. I think you need the manual to understand it...and we didn't have it back then.

Megaman 6 for me, the adaptors in it were really fun and the game had a good share of secrets to be found.

Mega Man, because it was as straightforward as a MM game could get. You had a score-board as well, which was very nice, and the 6 RMs in the game were arguably the most challenging of all MM Robot Masters. And then there's the epic Wily Stages, which were tough as hell.
That, and Fire Man rocked hard.

4. Toad Man alone wins it the award, but because I'm nice, I'll give you some extra info.
1. Megabuster, Chargeable!
2. Pharoah Man was freaking awesome and so was his weapon.
3. FLASH STOPPAH YOU FOOL
4. Wire was awesome, Balloon was just Item 1
5. Plot twist :O. I know the other games bogged it down a bit but it was hard to see coming when the game first came out.
6. Bright Man was hard, even with his weakness, which can't be said for any Robot Master before him. Crash Man, maybe, but only 'cause he was hard to hit.

Megaman 4
though if i could've chosen Megaman 8, I would've.
Megaman 4 is my favorite "Classic" megaman game just because of the fact the boss weaknesses are very strange, for instance SKULL defeats DIVE.

the weaknesses aren't strange to a person like me who has seen a toad destroy a lightbulb.
