MM8BDM Discussion / Re: Great Players

*Joins the bandwagon*

Hmmm... I certainly cannot pick one best player, but if I had to pick, say, five, they'd be...

Rawk Hawk
CutmanMike
Orange Juice
Rtist
Lonewolf

Each of these people, in my opinion, display a very high degree of skill, flexibility, and general boss-ness.

Not sure exactly what either of you mean; like I said, I have never had any trouble before. Doomseeker still works. The folder hasn't changed. Also, I think the only server I cannot join is the rage Roboenza. Also. I made my folder have the exact same files as one of my friend's, and we both reinstalled v1d today, within hours of each other. Our folders look exactly the same. He can join the Rage Roboenza server, and I cannot.

I am quite confused and frustrated. It probably isn't Doomseeker; if I copy the address and paste it into the 'Connect' option on the actual MM8BDM application, it still doesn't work; I get the same error.

(Sorry for the double post, but I feel this deserves a new post rather than an edit.)

I was browsing around, and found that others have been experiencing problem similar to this (although no one actually said what the rror was on the console) a little bit after v1d was released. Apparently, CMM forgot to include snes_spc.dll in the first release of V1d, but it was reuploaded with this file a day or two or whatever afterwards. I do have this file in my folder. However, I still cannot join Deathwind's RageRoboenza server. I'm not sure if this is the problem. Further, I was also unable to join someone's classes server, and I'm not sure which 'version' of V1d they had.

I use Doomseeker.

EDIT: I just reinstalled MM8BDM, still the same problem persists.

Help & Editing / Cannot Join Rage Roboenza Server
« on: April 01, 2011, 08:05:09 PM »
Hello everyone!

I am suddenly unable to join any servers using extra wads or pk3s, meaning ones that aren't required/don't come when you download V1d.

I had previously been able to join servers just fine, even post-V1d release. I keep all my wads and pk3s in the the same folder, and i have never had any issues with joining servers not using some of the extra wads/pk3s I had in my folder. Just be safe, I removed wads not used by the RageRoboenza server and tried to join, but I still encountered the same problem. After the MM8BDM console tells me that I have successfully connected to the server, it then says that the level authentication failed. It tells me to make sure I am using the exact same wads as the server, when I am.

Any ideas as to the problem?

EDIT: I can actually now join servers with roboenza-2.wad, but still nothing with classes, rageroboenza, or I-pack.

Firstly, great job to everyone involved with the creation of these newest additions! Quite the amazing work!

I am fairly certain the lag is due to either GravityMan or FlashMan, as I didn't notice it as much even when the stage was flooded with glitch Bass's (frustrating though) than when two or three GravityMen were concentrated in one area or some FlashMen.

Help & Editing / One quick question
« on: March 16, 2011, 12:45:31 PM »
Hey everyone! I just had one quick question about hosting:

What would happen if the host interface/console window was closed, but the command line for the remote console was lost?

I was hosting a server with Doomseeker, the window closed out in a frenzy of non-responsiveness, and I had accidentally copied over the copied command line, so it was no longer on the clipboard. The server still appears on the Doomseeker list, even though I have heard it is supposed to terminate and disappear if the host's hosting interface/console is closed out. Without the command line, I see no way of continuing to manage the server.

Any thoughts?

Don't mean to reply on a possible dead topic, but I figured it'd be better than making a whole new topic. Like, others, i have had no problem accessing the port forwarding features of my router (2wire), but i still cannot see the server on the list (I use Doomseeker, by the way, for hosting and joining).

Here is the definition for the application:

Application Name: Skulltag
Protocol: UDP
Port (or Range): From: 10666  To: 10666
Protocol Timeout (seconds): Default (600 seconds)
Map to Host Port: 10666
Application Type: None (Default) (Options are: FTP, Microsoft Games, H.323-based Internet telephony, IRC server, PPTP virtual private network server)

These are the only setting I was given access to. There is no box for entering an IP, although there is a box (in the preliminary screens where you would create a new application to allow through the firewall or what not) where I chose which computer on my network is hosting this application; my own of course. Once I add the definition, this application appears on the list of allowed applications, but when I start the server, the server does not appear on the list.

Any help would be immensely appreciated!

Thanks Kapus, for the input as well as letting me know how to change songs.

Arkman, I am starting it with Doomseeker. I add all the wads that I want, the PK3s, set the rules, whatever. If I start the server as an offline server, Skulltag pops up like normal, but before MM8BDM comes up, that error appears as the last lines of Skulltag console. If I start the server as an online one, Doomseeker begins to go through its normal process for doing so, but then a pop-up... pops up announces a fatal error with Skulltag, and this pop-up contains the same lines that the Skulltag console displays.

Thanks! That worked. It was: Bind X "Say [Message]" (without the brackets of course).

Anyone else have any input on the other questions?

EDIT: Thanks Chaos for the confirmation and your helpful info about the skins folder. I guess that makes sense.

Hey everyone! I have been playing MM8BDM for some time now, and I have finally decided to join the Cutstuff Community. I would like to ask a few questions regarding the game, in hopes that some answers will come in.

1) How exactly do you bind keys to send certain chat messages? And when I say exactly, I mean that I need to know the exact format and spacing so that you can bind one key to say some message or word or whatever on the chat.

2) Are infected weapons allowed or is their use punishable on Deathwind's servers?

3) When ever I attempt to start a server with the Classes mod, this error appears on the Skulltag start-up:

Script error, "Classes-v3a.pk3:wep/megaman3/snakemanwep.txt" line 57:
Parent type 'SearchSnakeStart' not found in SearchSnakeStart2

Execution could not continue.

Script error, "Classes-v3a.pk3:wep/megaman3/snakemanwep.txt" line 57:
Replaced type 'SearchSnakeStart' not found in SearchSnakeStart2

I feel like i have seen this somewhere on the forums before, but I cannot remember where, so I'll have to ask again. Does anyone know the problem, and how to fix it?

4) I have to ask: Do only skins go in the skin folder?

Thank you in advance for your time.
