You wouldn't really lose anything, all you have to really do is reconfigure the wifi password.

I don't know what happened. Ever since I changed my masterserver address on doomseeker I'm not able to see my server anymore.  

Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem, but what is the ini file?

Unfortunately, a majority of people seem to be suffering through this "same problem".
Even since I changed my ini file, I can host servers, they just don't appear on the list. I tried port forwarding, I've tried changing the ini file again, it just won't work.
I can host if I actually post the IP, but that's tiring Doesn't really make it a public server, per se. Is there any way to fix this?

Ever since I got a new ISP, the same thing is happening for me as thatguy74. I follow the port forwarding instructions, the server works but is not open to the public. (A.K.A doesn't show up on doom seeker and whatnot.)

Well, for Port Start and Port End, put 10666.

It doesn't seem to ask for IP right there.

Hosting a server gives away where your country (unless your unheard of, like me for a bit) your IP info and your ping from the present location. I think that's all, but not sure.

I think I found the solution for servers not appearing on DS's list, and I'm not quite sure it involves ports.

3. My server does not appear AT ALL on the master server list. Not even <NO RESPONSE>. I can't find my IP on the master server list.

Make sure that 'sv_enforcemasterbanlist' is set to 'true'. Just type 'sv_enforcemasterbanlist 1' into the server window.

4. How can I check if people on the Internet can see my server?

There is a very simple way to do this. Just type 'sv_showlauncherqueries 1' into the server window, hit ENTER and wait a while. After a very short time (usually less than 10 seconds) you should get messages like this one:

(and so on...)
NOTE: To turn this off, just simply set the value to zero.

If you get these messages then everything is fine. If you don't it means that your server is not visible from the Internet.

I did three, and it worked, whoop whoop. This darn problem is finally gone, and I can host again!

Hosting is a major security threat. If someone sends an attack (typically loads of malware/spyware), whether targeted or automated, at whatever port you have open, your computer will accept it. "Zombie computers" and hackers send these attacks out: if they hit a port you're hosting with, you're screwed.

Yes, but you're not going to host a very good server if you're not accepting connections  

You can make it more secure by closing the port after each hosting session, but it's a pretty low chance of being nuked from orbit unless you've pissed off some internet tough guys.
