Rockman Dash 3 FC?
« on: July 14, 2013, 05:18:21 PM »
Seems the fans are getting tired of waiting and are making their own MML3. According to the Facebook group "100,000 Strong for Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3", this is just a prologue demo and the Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype 8bit, is scheduled for a free release this August.

On note, you will need Applocale to load the game.

I have NO idea what an applocale is. Is that iPod speak for application or something? please do tell me.
On another VERY related subject.... YES, YES YES YES YES!
However, if this is an 8bit sidescroller version of MML, I'll be like, "meh".
I'll try it though. Thanks Tsuki for letting us kbow about this.
8bit servbots anyone?

Microsoft AppLocale is a program that allows you to run applications with the proper language for them without having to change your computer's language.

Megaman Legends 3... Being 8-bit?

Why?

I don't follow the Legends series, but why would they make it 8-bit if it's supposed to be a 3D Playstation era game series? If they made it a sort of above-view type thing with sidescrolling levels, shouldn't they use more updated graphics? They should make it AT LEAST 16-bit. The fact that they're making it 8-bit just screams "lazy" to me.

You're getting even a slightly remote glimpse of the "amazing" MML3 and you're complaining about its graphics.
What.

Try to cram the many functions of MML into a NES controller. The guys did it, and did gracefully

I guess it doesn't help that I'm indifferent about the series. I'm just questioning the approach.

(Though I still haven't gotten a solid answer WHY it has to be 8-bit.)

I can only answer this with the question: "Why not?". Lately Mega Man has been receiving much more love in 8-bits style than in anything above it. Plus, it is easier and quicker to design 8-bit sprites and yet make them look good.

I guess. I'm just getting tired of 8-bit Mega Man. Why can't we have a game that looks like it's from this generation for once? The retro style is overused at this point.

My opinion?
Not that it really matters, but why not?
Well, first of all, I loved the intro with the Megaman 1up sign and the 25th anniversary logo. A servbot litterally ran over, and stole the 1up, and left. which was okay. But I really only got tp play the game for a mere 36 seconds before closing it and trying again. But while I played it that small amount, I was Placed directly ingame as Barrett in a "city-Like" area. In the demo, I had to take down 50 reaver bots. which I only killed seven. And Barrets gameplay was cool, as he could cling to the edges of walls and ledges. One thing I was expecting, is that I was going to run around the city collecting servbots, which this actually surprised me. However, this wasn't actually a game DEMO, just a demonstration to show off the engine. Which I loved the The 36 seconds I played through. And no, the game wasn't difficult, I just closed it down to see if it worked again(which my computer does a shittily job of re-playing games). And It didn't work for me again. Instead of pausing the title screen for me, it went back to the scene which the servbot stole the 1up. This is the only bug i experienced(which it is VERY gamebreaking) I really do look forward to seeing what this'll turn into. But. from what I saw, I'd rate this a 3 out of 5 Happy Colonel ServBot Heads.

On another note, I agree with FiniteZero, I think some people are going over board with the 8-bittedness. We have alot of games here now and soon to be coming out, MegaMan Unlimited, MegaMan 2.5D, MegaMan Revolution, MegaMan Twenty Fifth Anniversary, Street Fighter X MegaMan, RockMan 7 and 8 FamiCom Dont forget about the nine million other mods of it, and alot more. Heck, even Sprites Incorperated is trying to pop out another game. which it gets pretty boring watching the same blue figure run around on the screen again and again. Don't get me wrong, I love MegaMan, but theres just...a little too much of it recently. Now try doing something original like a MMX4-6 styled game

You have proved yourself a worthy reviewer Colonel.
I probably not gonna get this unless they add Trigger. Other than that, I don't mind it being 16bit. It should be similar to the original.

If you wish to satisfy your yearning for a Legends game that's 16bit

If you want 8bit-
