This thread is dedicated to the upcoming 3DS game, Kid Icarus: Uprising!
So yeah, discuss how awesome the game is, favorite weapons/strategies and junk like that. Hopefully we can use this to organize 3 vs 3 battles sometime!

is it too soon to start posting boss rush records? (because ive got one already)
aware of double post, thank you very much.
despite me being pro at the game, i finally found my weakness. light vs dark. i dont do well in team games. >.< i also hate claws.. give me a pair is like giving a child a knife.. they dont go well together..
erm.. harsh metaphor.. oh well :L
oh yes, definitely he is. So is:
Magnus: "These are my pants!" XD
Just read this for your smashbros pleasure. Also, switch this to the 3ds topic (probably friend code topic, seeing as thats how its used nowadays)

I'm pretty good with the Pandora Claws. My pair, anyway. I LOVE their forward dash fully charged attack. It dishes out the pain.
Also... I REALLY liked the single player.
This will be spoiler'd just for safety. Not everything is spoilery, but some of it is just on the edge, and a lot of it is HUGE SPOILERS. So read only if you beat the game/don't care. Man, the first half of the game I was like, "This is funny and all, but I am disappoint at the story." The trailers had given me the impression that there would be lots of really interesting characters like Magnus, and then it just seemed like every level was "RANDOM NEW BOSS THAT YOU DONT GET TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT".
Then I reached the second half of the game and BAM. Story, characters, AND humor all wrapped up in a GREAT package. By the time you meet Viridi, things get REALLY intriguing. When Pit got turned into a ring, I was playing every stage in a row just wanting to see the ending.
Anywho, characters. Here's my thoughts on them:
Pit: Seriously awesome. So dorky and funny, he's an awesome protagonist. I loved his silly video game references too.
Palutena: Don't have much of an opinion on her. She complements Pit very well and is pretty silly and such, but she's not one of my favorites.
Viridi: Awesome. Her voice actress was great. I loved her cynical personality and how she acted toward Pit.
Hades: YES. He was so awesome. I loved how he didn't seem like a generic villain. He wasn't just AWESOME EVIL BWAAAH, he was self-obsessed, narcissistic evil.
Pyrrhon: "JUSTICE"
And also for those who have beaten the game...
Anyone else think that it would be cool if Dark Pit becomes more of his own character in the next game? They seemed to be aiming for that, honestly. His personality was quite different from Pit's already, and they started calling him "Pittoo", as if trying to give him his own name.
I REALLY got the feeling there was more in for him when he lost the ability to fly. Think about it, Viridi can give the power of flight, too. Anyone else think that the rivalry will become even more interesting with Palutena/Pit vs Viridi/Pittoo? I think it would be awesome if that happened. I'm also hoping that in the next game Dark Pit will have a fairly different outfit from Pit, retaining similarities, but looking different enough to be sort of his own.
I was going to say that I love cannons more than any other weapon I've used so far. They aren't that slow, and the giant explosions their charge shots make are so awesome.
*Watch out, there's a reason for the spoiler. :ugeek: *
I really wish there was some sort of Medusa weapon with the petrifying status effect.
I usually kept it around 3.5 - 5.0, but that's just me.
Also I Love the Magnus Club. It's so ridiculously overpowered it's not even funny.
Sooooo, I've developed this trend where I've been making multiple copies of my favorite weapons just to try them out in different scenarios. I've got about 3 Skyscraper Clubs now, and 3 of a spoiler weapon:
The Viridi Palm. I can't help it, it's a cute palm. I like firing hearts at everyone~
Also, through random play online, I've grown really really fond of the gimmicky powers given to you throughout the game. They serve next to no purpose in solo mode, but in multiplayer battles, they are so amazingly fun to use. I can't really make a power set anymore online without equipping myself with these certain powers:
Jump Glide, Rocket Jump, Angelic Missile, and Super Speed. Jump Glide has proven to be useful in some cases where I can just float down into a clusterfuck from a distance, or jump around with ease in that arena with the four platforms in the sky. Rocket Jump can be a really nice surprise to use against people sometimes. Angelic Missile has saved me countless times and it's a surprisingly effective power! Being able to launch yourself at super speed away from an area, do decent damage to an opponent when they don't expect it, and it looks really damn ridiculous. Super Speed is even more hilarious, ramping up your speed to uncontrollable levels, only to bulldoze anyone you touch, it's the best.
Oh, I also love the Random power up. I know it's totally unreliable, obviously, but I like taking my chances with it. It's been pretty nice to me during solo mode actually.
Boasting about my fav of the two modes below.
My play style and dominance make me love free for all. I do play Light vs Dark sometimes, but because the majority of the time my team-mates are idiots and they pretty much commit suicide with powerful weapons, the angel comes too early, and no matter what I do, I still lose at it. Sure, me dying with a powerful weapon has the same effect, but at LEAST I take out 4-5 guys first >_>.
Actually, you just have to guess on their Health by Spamming shots with a Weak Weapon and using Idol Transformation when you think they're low enough on Health. I used this strategy Against some bosses and easily got their Idols. Just to name a Few, though:
Twinbellows
Dark Lord Gaol
Hewdraw Reborn
Pandora (Wisp AND Amazon)
Dark Pit
The Immortal Phoenix Mokou
Cragalanche
Aurum Brain
Chaos Kin (Both Moth...Bug... Thing AND Smoke form...thing...?)
Hades' Heart
Great Sacred Treasure.
Ok, for everyone having trouble with that cuddly menace...
Ok, a good strategy is to do this:
1) Use a weapon with excellent homing. Clubs and other weapons won't be much help, unless the club is an Earth Maul Club.
2) When it enraged, The best thing to do is to actually TAKE the hit, because dodging it is a pain in the ass to do. Plus, you'll be in a great position to counter-attack.
3) Using Powers can be a GREAT advantage, such as Bumblebee, Mega Laser, and Crisis Recovery.
The best thing to do is to actually TAKE the hit
Good advice, but there's one problem with that:
Boss Rush. Taking hits in Boss Rush certainly isn't a smart thing to do. I didn't have much trouble there (used my second to last/last wine before the fight), but I'm HORRIBLY dreading the Hard mode. I've tried it once, and only managed to take out Twinbellows and Gaol. -.- Oh, I'm also still using my Gaol Blade. Sure, I've come across higher numbers for range/melee and higher level weapons, (a 334 Boom Orbitars?) but when the damage comes down to it, I still like that weapon.
