Buster Upgrades - picking up and using another of which you have already used will revert the upgrade back to Mega Buster. This is to add some more strategic value to picking up buster upgrades the player already has farther than just impeding the opponent from getting said support item.

Noise Crush - in order to make it less of a "free Hard Knuckle", make it so that the charge shot splits into a spread of three uncharged projectiles at mid-range. This would also make sense with the weapon's theme, as sound only travels so far before scattering into nothingness.

Wanted to add-on to that buster revert idea
When you use the same buster adapter to revert to the mega buster, you gain Megaman 8's Shooting Parts. This gives the mega buster a slightly higher rate of fire, no other changes. Just some love for the mega buster in general while keeping it the mega buster.

As a matter of fact, I was working on a buster overhaul patch a while back, which, among other things, gave the player a buster revert item whenever they used a buster upgrade.

I don't think it would be a bad idea, but admittedly, it does clutter one's inventory pretty quickly.

1) Buster upgrades are supposed to be a step above the normal buster. Additionally, with the altfire to use uncharged shots coming in some version for Zandronum 3.0, this would add even less merit to swapping back to a normal Mega Buster.

2) ... eeeehhhhh... Noise Crush is getting a light hit in v5, we'll consider changing it more if it's a problem.
