Title: Problems with Skins
Post by: MuscledGamer on July 23, 2016, 08:14:34 PM
Hello.

A while ago, I learned how to make custom skins. I was having so much fun making my own skins and putting them in the game.

Unfortunately, very recently, when I tried to put a custom skin in the skin folder to make sure it was good, I couldn't retrieve my skin in the game. I didn't know what was wrong. I did everything the same I always did, but I still couldn't find it.

I don't know whether it's outdated pk3 files or something I did and it screwed everything up, I just can't use my skins anymore.

Can someone help me solve this problem? Appreciate it.

Is your skins folder named "skins"?

Yes. Yes it is.

Did you try loading someone else's skins? For example, Geno's Demo skin (http://www.mediafire.com/download/l0168mono7jmk9p/Demo.pk3). [that was the first one on their forum page]
If that works, try making a new pk3 and putting it in the same place as the skins you know work.

If that doesn't work, would you mind pasting the SKININFO to be sure?

Okay.

The demo skin worked. So, yay; I haven't lost the ability of customs skins completely.

Secondly, I was finally able to get the skin I made to work! I don't know what fixed it, but I was able to play as that skin.

I guess it was saving it as a zip file first, and then a pk3. I don't know. All I know is that it finally works.

Thanks for giving me help. This is the second forum I've been on that has actually been willing to help me, and I appreciate it!
