Title: I am so lost
Post by: Atticus on October 31, 2010, 10:28:36 PM
I downloaded the Halloween pack earlier today, but I have no idea how to install it onto my MM8BDM. I managed to get the skins on, but now when I play, every message is "Warning, error 1000" something like that. In fact, I'm not completely sure I even installed the update. Can someone give me a step-by-step tutorial on how to install these?  :(

Hm, the only error I received is when I put the contents in a wrong folder. Well lets see...

Did you extract the contents to your MM8BDM folder? By that I mean your chosen destination.

This is just a visual of where I have it...

The pack with all the skins and roboenza mode and such. This is how mine looks like:

Now, what do I do?

Open up that roboenza-2 folder, and unzip the contents into your mm8bdm folder. That may or may not fix the error.

1. Open roboenza-2 zip folder
2. Look for unzip all contents (although for Vista, I'm not sure where this button is.On mine, it's on the left pane)
3. Choose MM8BDM folder for the destination
4. ???
5. ZOMBIES

I can't find it. Would extracting it work?

And another concern, when I look online, I see only about 3 servers with no one on, leading me to believe V.1a isn't installed.

Extracting is the same as unzipping

Extracting is unzipping, so yes. ;)
As for the servers, you might want to get doomseeker. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=728 (http://cutstuff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=728)

Ok, I followed everything, and now I have just one last problem, and I think I'll be good.

When I use doomseeker, on some games, it says

"The following files are missing:
PWADS: MM8BDM-v.1b.pk3
Do you want Wadseeker to find the missing wads?"

I say yes and it says:

"CRITICAL ERROR: no target directory specified! Aborting.

Self-explaitory

Just extract it the same way you did roboenza.

Ok, did that. Not completely sure it works (I see no MM8BDM servers on doomseeker.) But as far as I hope, it's solved.

...for now.

Search by Iwad, and don't use the search function. If you aren't, then... Kgoodluck
