Blah, I'm an idiot.
-
So much for "DON'T EDIT THE PK3".
-
Don't edit the pk3 has a few exceptions.
However why are you doing this? When MM8BDM updates, your changes are lost. Wouldn't it make more sense to make the base skin it's own .pk3 file, throw it in the skins folder. and done. It's now doing sprite replacements externally. No editing required.
Least in theory that should work.
-
Yeah, I supported this idea provided it didn't edit the pk3. NOBODY EDIT IT.
-
Don't say I didn't warn you.
Enjoy being kicked from servers.
-
It doesn't mess with online, I can join any server and not get kicked.
Also, I can find no way to make any skin in the skins folder the base. So yeah. This is as safe as changing the music in the game.

Oh for the love of...
Make it a Patch WAD! Don't edit the main PK3 you boob! >_< This particular edit may not prevent you from playing, but it's still never a good idea to edit the main PK3 when Patch WADs work just as well.
-
How would we do this as a skin, how would we do the skin info
-
Anything that can be runned in your skins folder can be put into your MM8BDM .pk3. It's just that its dumb and unnessessary without a good reason.
Besides, I'm sure you could of saved a lot of time by making the skin definition lump use the sprites for Sniper joe rather than replacing all the sprites.
-
Probably, but I didn't want to mess with that stuff.
Plus, you can make it custom skins too.
-
You didn't even need Slumped. You just need to rename the .pk3 to a .zip and work with it from there.
