Title: MM99 AND 10 Music Pack! * Updated 10/22/12
Post by: Messatsu on November 19, 2010, 09:23:08 PM
Hey Everyone. Here's a music pack (http://www.mediafire.com/?b7anpsqv7sj7oro) that I whipped up.
UPDATED 10/22/2012: Complete re-rip!

I recently relooped all the songs and adjusted their quality to be in line with the core songs.  The pack is now much smaller, the song names will not conflict with any in game maps either.  ENJOY!

here's a tip. Put the music file in your "skins" folder. It'll be loaded up. Works with other .wad files too.
To change a song in game bring up the console (`) and type changemus <songname>. (Ex. changemus metmus).

Here are the list of songs in this pack:

Dunno what the easter egg is, I've tried lots of combinations when it comes to musics... but I dont know if it even IS a music.

Can you teach me how to create a music Pack because that way I can add a bunch of music I have that can make enjoyable for me.

How to Install Music Packs:
Open my computer, then click on the drive you play on(most likely C:)
Then just drop it in there(like you did with robenza)
then when you want to play just click the Add File and find the music file you just dropped in C:(Like you would for robenza)

Enjoy! Changemus gouhadou is the easter egg

I used XWE to create the WAD. oggdropXPd to create the ogg files and adobe soundbooth to chop the songs so that they looped properly.

Now where's Fakeman's theme and Wily Machine?

Both those songs have a fairly long intro and since looping them would either sound a bit funny or I'd have to chop off the beginning I said forget it for now. If there's a high enough demand for this kind of music pack I may expand this in the future.

Korby and other community members are already working on a MM&B expansion (http://cutstuff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=846) pack so I'm sure they already have someone doing music for it.  In addition I'm not aware of any 8-bit renditions of the songs so I don't have the material to do it anyway.

I'd be happy to help out on that expansion.  Only problem as I mentioned is the lack of 8-bit versions the soundtrack.  I'd use the 16-bit tracks if that's what you all are looking for on that project.
Title: Re: MM9 Music Pack
Post by: MagnetMan497 on November 22, 2010, 07:46:09 PM
I believe 16 bit tracks are fine; let me check with Korby.
Title: Re: MM9 Music Pack
Post by: Alucard on November 22, 2010, 08:43:04 PM
Make sure Cutmanmike allows 16-bit.
It would be epic if he did so. Imagine Simon's theme from Castlevania IV playing while you're pwning some bots? OH HELL YES!
Title: Re: MM9 Music Pack
Post by: Max on November 22, 2010, 08:44:23 PM
Korby is NOT using anything other than 8-Bit.

It just wouldn't fit.
Title: Re: MM9 Music Pack
Post by: Mr. X on November 22, 2010, 08:58:37 PM
Yes, we're taking the time and effort to make all of the sprites and tiles 8-bit for the MM&B expansion, but leaving the music the same because that makes sense.  Hell no, we're using 8-bit remixes.

I've done everything right, but the music doesn't change when I do the changemus command. The music just stays the same, and it doesn't even show up as a command on the log. I added the file and everything.

Try instead of using the add file command try manually adding the line manually.  so put in -file musics9.wad in the field.  If that doesn't work try changemus with a known song such as finamus.

here's a tip. Put the music file in your "skins" folder. It'll be loaded up. Works with other .wad files too.

Btw, if we had music9, do we delete that?

Learn something new every day I guess. Didn't know about the skins folder trick.  That's definitely the easier way to do it.  Also yes, you can delete the MM9 pack, though you may wanna quickly redownload this pack. I screwed up Magma Man again and had to fix it.

The file's Musics9-10.wad
The first was Musics9.wad

1.) no need to do mm7 since cmm's doing that officially
2.) Korby's doin a MM&B expansion so I won't be releasing a separate music pack on that as it should be included with the expansion.

great music pack but the only issue that ive spotted was that since we added mm7 in mm8bdm that only means that cloudman comes into the changemus codes so changemus clo for cloudman and changemus clo for clownman but the 1 who works over the other is cloudman. AND OUR WINNER IS CLOUDMAN!
