Talk about anything. Keep it clean and don't post pointless crap. Topics without any hope of becoming a relatively sane discussion will be locked/deleted.

This is Earrape, more so that aforementioned vids:
Cover art is fucking badass too. A bible, covered in blood, with nails that make a pentagram. Fucking awesome.

This post made me happy. A good kind of "earrape". ^_^
VOCAL EARRAPE COMING RIGHT UP!
That guy is fucking nuts. Had to get used to the vocals to even like the band (Mercyful Fate too). But they are fucking awesome, especially A Mansion In The Darkness. I always liked King Diamond's non-high vocals, though. I really wish they'd focuse on that, with the super-high ones only appearing on a few places (like in Judas Priest).

Now the question is, are you going to act on your plan to never post again?

Of course.

Of course.
How did your post count not rise with this post?
-
Deleting old posts to keep the post count correct is my hunch.
-
Yupp. Anyway, having 1337 posts is nice, but I must move on

Hey Vyreman, I don't mind that music at all, but yeah, the vocals are kinda hard to get used to, lol. The instrumentals are pretty good, and the voice is all right but yeah, something hard to grasp at first (i think he sings pretty high, lol).
I agree, I wish he wouldn't sing high all the time too (like Rob Halford of Judas Priest) but yeah, I can see myself getting into King Diamond if I got used to the singing, lol.
He sings much higher than Michael Kiske of Helloween:
Though you can tell he was Rob Halford and Bruce Dickinson inspired, though he put his own style to it (this is late 80's, am guessing King Diamond is similar?)
P.S. I got into this band some 20 odd years too late. > < (though I was but a baby when this song came out, ha ha).
-
Yeah, musically King Diamond are freakin' marvelous, this song being my favorite (as I mentioned):
Can't stop listening to that song.
It's funny, though. I always thought Rob Halford's high vocals were REALLY high, at times a bit unbearable to me; this guy beats him by miles. It doesn't get much brighter than this. Only song I can recall (of those I've heard) in which Rob Halford comes close would be Metal Meltdown. I think I've become a lot more tolerant because of King Diamond -- most of the high vocals in Judas Priest feel pretty tame to me now, which actually makes me enjoy it (and them) more. I just see it as "fucking metal! m/" now, you know? :P So thank you, King Diamond, for providing me with more enjoyment outside of your area!
Haven't heard that Helloween song before, by the way. That kicks ass! The vocals are good too. But it's kind of funny how King Diamond has higher vocals than that, as King Diamond are regular Heavy Metal (or some Danish NWOBHM-like thing?) while Helloween are of the high-vocal genre itself, power metal. Although I guess that's a bit of a generalization....power metal doesn't NEED those high vocals to be power metal.
Meh, all this heavy metal talk. I can't help myself... *runs off and listens to Priest's Painkiller*
-
No more 1337 for you :P
-
Hey Vyreman, I really liked that second King Diamond song! The double bass pedals and everything, it was nicely done! Ha ha, I know what you mean about the stereotypes of metal. Some people hate labeling metal and simply say "it's all metal! Who cares?" but yeah, I understand the distinct genres out there.
Ha ha, it is funny that the "normal" heavy metal vocals in this case are higher than the power metal ones. It is normally though that power metal have those high vocals. I reckon sometimes certain bands sound a bit cheesy doing it, but most of the time it works, and I much prefer the high vocals and high power chords than those really low and dark ones from death metal. Don't get me wrong though, coz I dun know many death metal bands so i can overly criticize.
Glad you liked Helloween. I only got into them recently, and I thought I had to because they were one of the fathers of power metal. Having said that though, the song that got me into them was more "commercial" and less power metal.
The rhythm guitar plays my three favourite power chords. lol.
They're so catchy though, and yeah, metal is metal! m/
As for Priest, I agree on Halford's vocal range. You get his "normal" range in songs like Breaking the Law, Hell Bent for Leather, Before the Dawn, You've got another thing coming etc. and then you get higher ranges like in Free Wheel Burning and Screaming for Vengeance (the latter two have guitar solos which I think inspired video game music, like Mega Man X).
I'll be seeing Iron Maiden next year, so I'm looking forward to that.
And Vyreman: rock on my green metal bro!

Let's continue the discussion here, if you don't mind: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1476 (http://cutstuff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1476)
Please? :D

For sure man. :) I think DTD got his achievement and is now officially (and literally) beyond 1337, lol.
I'll have a look at that topic shortly.
-
Indeed.
You won't like what you see. XD My post there is ridiculously long.
-
Long post is long.
-
That's how I roll.
-
Arrghhh! Accursed similar palettes! I keep thinking Vyre/Snake are triple posting!
-
Rofl. I apologize.
EDIT: See what I had to do?
-
Ha ha ha Korby. What if I put my name Snake in white text with a blue ba... oh wait, that would now be even more confusing, lol.
Nice work Vyreman =P I wonder if I should put my name in another colour, or have some crazy gif of a dancing Snake Man or something, that doesn't give seizures? I'll think about it. :p
-
You didn't have to change it, Vyre!
...Especially into something I can't see.
