1. Do you know the TV Series?
2. Do you like them?
3. What was funny?
4. What did you hate?
and the last one: Does Megaman look better or worse?
I really laugh about Megamans old look, but i cant hate the TV Show. i love it, i watched any episode.

It's so bad, it's good. That's all I can really say about it.
-
Never saw the original one... Couldnt find a good download link either.
-
Its definitely not as bad as most people say. Sure it could be very silly, some of the episodes were downright stupid, and Megaman looks weird all muscular, but I think they really did put a lot of care and detail into it. The voice acting was cheesy sometimes, and people made bad puns every 4 seconds, but I enjoyed it. I kinda wish they made more episodes, actually.

It was a part of my childhood, and I enjoyed it.

That's my job. :geek:

The show as a whole was somewhat decent for it's time. The lame puns and one-liners are to be expected from a show such as this. Cut Man has a rather fitting voice in my opinion. (I've always imagined him as having an annoying voice. The same could be same could be said for Guts Man's stereotypical big guy/thug/henchmen voice.) The designs of some of the Robot Masters are kind of retarded(Especially Mega Man, who I swear has a permanent "derp" face), but they're pretty accurate overall. I still like this show, and occasionally I'd watch a couple of episodes.

The only really REALLY inaccurate design I saw on the show was Bright Man, really.

Bright Man was awesome! What about Air Man or Ice Man? Or X?

Yeah, Bright Man did look pretty decent, but Air Man looks scarier than usual(Probably because he has a face this time.), and Ice Man looks rather bland. I still don't know why they gave him glasses.

Probably to make him look like a nerd. I like Vile/Vava, but two favorites are:
Gutsman's Ass! (DUN NUUUUUUUH!)
Pharaoh Man owning Megaman

Yeah, I watched this as a kid, but it was weird-- I loved, and I mean LOVED the Mega Man games, but barely watched the cartoon (whereas my step brother never really played Mega Man but was REALLY into the cartoon). If I recall correctly it was because it was kind of embarrassing to me, even though I loved watching it I was embarrassed of what people (particularly my big brother) would think, and I was like 9 years old at the time it was on, so, y'know... I had to look cool and watch only grown-up shows and play Mega Man X, all that kinda thing. How silly I was, seeing as now I'm 24 years old and openly watch Adventure Time and Regular Show.
I've read a bunch about this show though and the creators made it really cheesy with plot devices like the Lincoln Memorial, puns every 5 seconds, and generic or really silly voices for the characters purposely, as part of the fun. It was to be an homage to all those cheesy 80s cartoons with similar styles, and considering the NES Mega Man games it was based on were something like '87-'91 in release (it had no reference to MM6 afaik) that style would be pretty accurate for the characters anyway. Supposedly they were having loads of fun with it and really wanted to continue it, too, but goodness knows every time there's a cartoon that people enjoy making and that has some semblence of quality it has to be taken off air immediately (especially back then, where it was getting to that point where almost nothing worth watching animation-wise was on for a good 10 years except stuff brought over from Japan on Toonami and such).
But yeah, check it;
Watch from about 0:04 to 0:07. Check out how the designs are very close to Inafune's drawings and look blasted awesome in animation--that's supposedly the "beta" of what the cartoon was going to be, before they made it sort of "altered" for American kids at the time and likely to make it feel more like an 80s Western cartoon. I actually kind of applaud their decision to make the characters stylized despite obviously knowing the original designs (whereas the creators of Captain N: the Game Master, I heavily believe, made it a point to never, ever look at a single image or Inafune's Rockman art) and really making the series their own, but overall I think I'd have much preferred them go with that beta idea. Man, I've always wanted a cartoon series or anime like that, like Super Adventure Rockman but as an actual animated series... I almost wish they'd do a short animated thing for these new-retro games, instead of just the 1-chapter-long manga that of course only exist in Japan.. Oh, well!

I think I've posted this at least twice here now
When I was first introduced to the ruby spears MM cartoon I dismissed it almost immediately because of it's horrible plots, corny dialogue and incorrect robot master powers and designs. I watched every episode though because I thought it was laughably horrible.
But I realise the error of my ways. I mean, to be fair, it's pretty damn good fan service. Sure some of your favourites may not be in the show, or may not talk or fight as much as you'd hoped, but the fact they're THERE to begin with and look enough like the little sprites from the NES, is what all a kid like me needed. If the show aired here while I was playing 1-6, I think I'd be even more of a mega fan than I am now! It's the same with the Street Fighter cartoon. It has all the characters from the game, and even though most of the dialogue is terrible it could have done FARRRR worse (see mortal kombat, battletoads cartoon, Captain N (YES CAPTAIN N DAMMIT)).
And actually come to think of it, some characters were portrayed just the way I wanted them to. Capcom may not have wanted gutsman being as big as a doofus as he is but he was big and strong so that automatically makes him a dumbass in a kid's world. Dr. Wily is also as crazy as I wanted him to, if not BETTER. Dr. Light is fine as a general wise old dude too even if he was... fuckin' scary sometimes. :drlight: Proto man wasn't exactly what I imagined, being sided with Wily FULL TIME but he was a cool ONLY I CAN KILL MY BRO kinda thing which I did like. Oh and Rush being a scooby do ripoff couldn't have been better
So I salute you, Ruby Spears cartoon, for bringing the robot masters to our tv screens as often as you did. I mean, how many times have you seen your favourite robot master appear in a cartoon OFFICIALLY from Capcom? A lot friggin less.
I think a lot of people who criticize (those retarded youtube poop lovers) the show need to lighten up and realise that the budget probably wasn't there to make it as epic as they hoped, and of course IT WAS FOR CHILDRENN

I do remember liking what I saw of it. Mostly for Scott McNeil's voices, I think. He's kinda done a number of things I liked.
-
Well, it DOES slightly fall into the category of "so bad it's good" but it's not the worst thing ever. Does anyone remember the old Darkstalkers cartoon?
But...They RUINED X's personality...they made him a reckless brute! What happened to the sweet, whiny X i know of?
All in all, I still loved the cartoon though. Especially "Curse of The Lion Men"
btw, mike, most YTP's are made from affection of the source.

Oh god, The Episode with X was the most epic one for me. O_o
There you get a bit about the Megaman switch to Megaman X teach'd

It was fun. The art has it's own narm charm, and manages to work for the show. Dr. Wily's voice actor is SUPERB though.

This show was interesting. My brother said that it was a terrible show, but I gave it a try, and when I see it, I actually like it. Like CutmanMike said, it could have taken the route of Mortal Kombat or Captain N and make things look terrible. But they didn't. In fact, I sort of think that some of the things looked pretty cool. Sometimes I immagine some of the other robot masters from the games past 5 would look and even what the ones that weren't added in would look like. Personally, I think that they should have showed some of the weapons that weren't taken in the actual show. I mean, who wouldn't want to see how Atomic Fire or Shadow Blade's analyzing designs were? Sure, the weapons themselves weren't too impressive, only looking the same way as the robot masters uses them, but when Mega Man absorbs there power, the design looks cool. My personal favorite is the Quick Boomerang, Metal Blade, and Star Crash designs. Also, if I may continue:
They RUINED X's personality...they made him a reckless brute! What happened to the sweet, whiny X i know of?
He became more epic. Okay, the recklessness is annoying, but I HATE whiny X! It makes him seem annoying! When you look at X's design art, does it seem like he would be whiny or bad-ass? If you said bad-ass, you win! You get a hypothetical cookie.
In general, the cartoon is nostalgic. It's got a lot of cool robot master designs, interesting characters, and the back-story holds true to the original games. So...why do people hate it? My guess is that it was too far ahead for it's time.

anyone who knows me will know that i LOVE this cartoon.
lets be honest here, the robot masters of the original games were very cheesey, i'd be shocked if they didn't throw around loads of one liners overy sentance!
alot of people claim ruby spears knew nothing about their source material but that couldn't be further from the truth! they knew alot about the games, but they changed alot of things to make it more popular to the amaerican audience
and god damn that theme song is so damn cool, and the opening sequence too!
