As for the skin, I tried it out, and it is ok for a first skin, but you could do on some tips...

1: The entire skin doesn't have to be Blue, Cyan and Black...try recoloring the armor from Simon's armor in Simon's Quest, don't make the skin change color with the armor.

2: It needs walking sprites for the back.

3: Make the walking sprites have both feet, not just one.

4: This is optional, but I suggest having a second attack sprite of the whip before it's fully extended.

5: Make the legs slightly wider.

Do that, and you're good to go.
