PLOT:
It's been a year since the Cybeasts threatened the peace of the world. Lan and his friends think life can't be better living in a quiet, peaceful net society. Deep inside, Lan wants to relive the days of defeating net criminals, and saving lives... Soon he will get his wish, because a dark secret is about to threaten the earth.
Many years ago, a beast was unleashed upon the Net.  This beast was eventually defeated by the duo none other than Lan and MegaMan.

A mysterious group named "Red Infinity" wants to resurrect the beast. Its members are gathering "Z Parts" from around the world. While Lan is at Sci Lab one day, a mysterious navi attacks and steals an old document from Sci Lab's computers... What could be in this old file that Red Infinity would want? What do the "Z Parts" have to do with the beast? What did this navi steal from MegaMan, crippling him at the scene of the battle? Stay tuned for more updates from MegaMan Battle Network - Chrono X to find out!

Note: X, Zero or any other non-Battle Network characters will NOT appear in the game. Same goes for Shooting Star MegaMan.

MegaMan Battle Network Chrono X is a fan-game by MegaDudes Production that aims to replicate the experience of Battle Network to perfection to deliver a theoretical Battle Network '7.' The story will continue from the adventures of Lan and will connect in some way to the Distant Finale as seen in Battle Network 6.  It is currently the most progressive Battle Network fan-game on the Internet. This project started in 2009 and has made enormous amounts of progress since.  We have downloadable demos to try.

Demo 4 Download (http://www.mmbnchronox.com/play.php)  -- This contains the whole first two chapters of the game. This totals about 4-6 hours of playtime. Yes, the first two chapters. Enjoy.  You can try the game with a plug-in controller, too!

Demo 4.1 will feature online mode! Stay tuned!

Demo Requirements:
Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7
DirectX 9 or better
DirectX 9 compatible graphics card with at least 32MB (128mb recommended!) of video memory

512 MB of memory or greater (1GB recommended!)
800x600 or greater screen resolution with 32-bit colors
100 MB of free space on HardDrive

Android Test Build for 2.2 and upwards -- This is not the two chapter demo, but a test of how the Android plays on certain devices. Give it a try today!

Android Requirements:
Android 2.2 & up, 256mb of RAM, armv6/armv7/mips CPU + 17mb of free space.

I was expecting something horrible coming in.
I was dumbstruck when I found I was wrong.

Haha, well thanks.  Our project is well polished compared to the other projects out there, so I can't blame anyone for having low expectations when a fanmade Battle Network game comes to mind.   Thanks for taking the time to look even still.

Oh, this game! I played it. Was cool.
I don't really have any suggestions to the game.
Can't wait for the next demo.

Dawm! This is looking quite cool!
Im gonna download that soon. I am quite the battle network fan, And quite sad they stopped after 6... I was hoping for at least the amount classic megaman has gone to.
I know many people see star force as a sort of follower of the battle network series but i think its not. (though star force is quite awesome in some ways)

You really got my attention by posting this here ;) Keep up the work.

No problem, our team aims to make a BN7.  The point is to make it just how Capcom would make it.  Let me know how you like our demo!

Thanks for the positive feedback so far guys.  I'll keep you all posted

Ive just played the demo and i must say it has the feeling it requires.

Though i'd like to add some suggestions.

Make the reflect shield (from the mets) stay just for half a second longer. Its just a bit to hard to time when to use it. The orignal games (wich had this chip) had it a bit longer than this.

I'd also like to see the shockwave chip reappear. (also the one from the mets)
Just because its an easy to use weapon that always works fine. (exept for VS ground breaking stuff ofcourse.)

Also i noticed a few bug's.

The cannon virus stopped aiming this once... i have no clue what could have caused that.

And the reflect chip doesnt always damage all the enemy's in the row you are using it in. As far as i know its supposed to blast an entire row and not just 1 enemy.

P.S. If you need someone to test your game and look for bug's... I could be your man ;)
I tend to think of all kinds of awesome combo moves in mmbn. where i notice what works and what doesnt.

This looks very promising.
I am something of a newcomer to MMBN, and I have only played 1-3 in this past year. I am currently in the middle of 4.
Hopefully this will be complete once I finish with 6.
If there is one thing I have learned from MM8-bit DM, it is that one should not be too quick to underestimate fan-made games. :)

Hehe fun !

A fangame is always cool, but i hope, a day, capcom will do a new "4,5" xDDD

Yes it's just a dream.

Because, play with just Rockman is boring for me (except with soul or cross) D:

Your game looks very worked, i like! :D

Hello guys, I am bringing you the latest news about the game.

This is a Netcafe.  What you see here is a subchip dealer and the coffee seller next to him

A fountain was added to this map. I think it adds a nice touch.

This is the second major dungeon of the game.  As you can see by the name in the lower right, it has 3 areas.

Oh look, a bathroom.  You don't see too many of those in Battle Network.

There was only ONE in Earthbound.

I always thought it was amusing that there was only one toilet in the whole Resident Evil mansion, or even worse, the one urinal in all of Resident Evil 4.

Heh... Or the 1 usable toilet in World Of Warcraft :p
There is only one outhouse in that game that players can use.
The others are decoration/npc stuff.

I can't give you the PET itself, but I can give you the fanart that contains Chrono X's new PET.  This was made by a user on our forums, not by the team. If any of you guys want to submit any fanart for us. then go ahead!  You can use characters found in demo3

Hi everyone, SoulRed12 here, Chrono X's musician.  I just wanted to post to tell everyone that we are having a particularly important poll this week concerning the game's music.  YOU can help us discover what the fans want by voting.

If you've played the third demo, you've heard the original style of music used with Chrono X.  It uses much higher quality instruments, synths etc. as it was made on a computer using software intended for actual music production.  But, a lot of people have been continually commenting on the music to say, "it's not enough like the GBA version."

Now, as people ought to know, I can't perfectly recreate the Battle Network GBA sounds exactly for 2 reasons: 1) I don't even have a GBA soundfont (whereas the battle network musicians used GBA-software in an entire studio dedicated to GBA music), and 2) even if I did, it still wouldn't sound exactly the same as the GBA lets you choose your own sound wave for the wave channel (the third one), and includes capabilities for storing and playing two sets of samples, which is used for things like the orchestral hits and some of the sampled drums you hear in the original music.

Nevertheless, I decided to have a little test.  I recreated the GBA sounds to the best of my ability, and used them to re-voice the original boss theme.  You can listen to each version here:

Original: Link to youtube vid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYCo-X_WX6U)

GBA-ified: Link to youtube vid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nGlkk-OzGk)
(embedding wasn't working)

So please listen to each version, and then vote at our website (http://mmbnchronox.22web.net) to help your preferred version win.

Also, please leave a comment somewhere telling what you like/didn't like about each version.  It helps me know just what fans are thinking.  The comments can be wherever you like (here, on the youtube vids, on the website, the poll, etc.) but you have to vote in the poll for your voice to be heard in the final tally.

Thanks for reading!

Well, I like the GBA version better. Not because it sounds like a GBA - I don't think that should be a goal - it has a more cyber-feel to it(think like chiptune music) and also adds a little kick to the music (which is not an incredibly upbeat boss music). You might consider a more fast-paced/action-paced theme for things like the final boss, secret bosses, etc. (although those are a long way to go).

I did vote btw. However... this is something that applies to your whole team, not just the music. You need way more publicity! Go post something about this on every large site you can; i'd try gamefaqs, and other big megaman sites, Mega Man Network/homebase(forgot the name atm), but gogogo. The more support that you can get for this the easier it will be to do things like this, and the more talent you can draw from (not that you don't have a great start - you just want things to pick up). Part of it is that MMBN is a completed franchise, but you can find fans who still want more. Go huntin'.

Hello fans! I am informing you that the GBA version has won the poll!  The screenshot right there is proof of this.

All the music in the game will now be switched to GBA version. Thank you for your time.

As far as i know there might be older navi's included...
At least in the new fusion (M.E.M.E.N.T.O.) system.
And customs by them ofcourse. (I joined the forums)

We will be including a list of familiar navis and original ones that we have invented.  We will try to put in as many favorites as possible but I can give no promises.

BUMP!

It has been one month inside an advertisement topic, so I feel it is appropriate to update this with new information.

Hello guys! I am bringing you yet another update from Chrono X. We are nearing completion of demo4. Soon you guys will be able to play through chapters 1 and 2!

As we near the final stretch we ask that you guys still continue to check our site for updates.

You guys may still apply for a spriting position. Send your application to this email: ziutek340@gmail.com

Please make sure to send your best work. It must have only been made by you.

Time for some screenies!

Our first screenshot shows off a minigame of sorts. Yes, you will be able to do this in demo4. Kill that Hell Navi!

A battlechip seems to have caught Lan's eye.

A new area. Could this be a basement of some sort?

Heya folks! We're getting closer to release demo4, so, we've decided to host a HelpBBS contest. In case you're rusty, a HelpBBS is one of the boards that give you jobs to do. In return for completing these jobs, you get prizes.

What we want from you guys, our fans, is to post in the topic linked below with your best ideas for a HelpBBS quest. Please follow the instructions written there and think hard about the one you want to submit. Remember that if you're idea is creative, it has a higher chance of being featured in the game.

http://mmbnchronox.22web.net/phpBB3/vie ... 229#p21229 (http://mmbnchronox.22web.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=848&p=21229#p21229)

You guys... REALLY need to get a new forum.

I've tried on FOUR distinctly different days to connect to the site, and ALL FOUR TIMES ended up in failure, as I was unable to connect. Nonetheless I have some great ideas for requests, so I guess I'll email them to you or PM them to you here...?
Title: Re: Megaman Battle Network Chrono X!
Post by: Hallan Parva on April 25, 2011, 08:16:42 PM
Rawr. I'm submitting an idea not only for the HelpBBS, but for a sidequest as well.

It involves a new NPC who is one of Lan's classmates: Trip Draxler.

Trip Draxler is a local NetBattler who attends Lan's school, and this year, he is in Lan's class. Trip's dad works with Mr. Hikari at the SciLab Complex, and has learned a few things from his father. However, Trip uses his knowledge for personal gain, and is known as a Virus Trainer. They're what might be the futuristic 20XX equivalent of modern-day hackers.

Trip is able to modify organic code generated by the Net and can create his own programs by utilizing said code. He is able to make friendly versions of viruses like Mettaurs that help people and NetNavis instead of trying to harm or endanger them. Due to his unique and useful skills, he has earned the nickname "Hacker Draxler" from his friends.

The player can first meet Trip in class (possibly after the tutorial segments at the start of the game) and talk to him to learn about Chips, their controls, and basic stuff like that. Basically, he seems like another unimportant NPC that spouts "advice" of which you already know. Later in the game, though, Trip offers a very unique service in that he can take Bug Frags off your hands and convert them into rare items and Chips. You can also battle his NetNavi, Enker.EXE, after reaching a point in the game. Depending on the player’s progress throughout the game, you can find Trip either at school somewhere or in his house at ACDC Town.

Enker.EXE uses close-range sword attacks like ProtoMan.EXE, but he can't invade your play area, as if he was another player. He does not have a shield like ProtoMan.EXE, and he also has noticeably lower health than ProtoMan.EXE. He will either slice with a three-panel Long Sword (so he can hit you if you're in the back row) or a sweeping Wide Sword. Sometimes Enker.EXE will stop and "charge" an attack. Damaging him during this phase will increase the power of his special attack! His attack has a power equal to 10 times the damage he recieved, capping at 9001 (in other words, barely over nine thousand).

After charging up power for a bit, Enker.EXE shoots a beam down the center row of the field. If the beam's power is greather than or equal to 1000, the beam will be large enough to hit the top and bottom rows as well. The beam WILL pierce Shields and cannot be Reflected, but can be dodged with Invis. The beam only hurts the player once and cannot "combo-hit" a player multiple times. The beam attack also has a semi-long animation, so AntiDmg chips can counter, yes, but you'll re-appear in the beam and take damage anyway.

Whew... that's a lot of text, and we're just getting started! And now, for the HelpBBS suggestion!

Trip is complaining that his Home Page has been infiltrated by some sort of "super-virus" that is deleting all of his adorable pet Mettaurs! Normally, he'd handle the problem, but Enker.EXE is with his dad and helping with some coding at his work. So, naturally you have to go into the Net and investigate. After accepting the request Trip will be at home, keeping a watch over his computer and his “personal hacker network”. Talk to him to recieve the "DrxlrKey" that allows you to log into his network.

To get to Trip's HP, you have to walk along an invisible pathway... sigh. However, it's relatively easy to find once you know where to look; just keep walking along a dead end and you'll cross the invisible pathway. If you're having trouble finding it then buy some coffee at a Net Cafe while the HelpBBS request is accepted; the clerk there will tell you that Trip's HP is "hidden behind a dead end".

Access the network to enter a one-screen mini-dungeon of sorts. At the end of the area you will find Rogue.EXE trying to delete another pet Mettaur. He tells you that because he hacks, Trip is a bad person, and his "malicious coding" needs to be brought to an end. You try and say that Trip's "hacks" aren't bad, and show the friendly viruses as proof, but Rogue.EXE doesn't listen and challenges you to a duel in order to prove who is right. When you're ready, talk to him again and say "yes" to battle. You have to fight him in his V3 form, so be ready for a challenge.

After the fight (assuming you won), Rogue.EXE rethinks his perspective, then hides his feelings, insults you, and leaves. Go back to Trip and tell him the problem's fixed. He thanks you for your troubles and tries to think of a cool way to repay you. After thinking about it, he tells you that he'll have your reward tomorrow, and suggests that you take a break and visit him the next time you’re in town. What he means is that he will have the reward the next time you load the save file. No, really, you literally have to save the game outside of his house, turn the game off, boot the game back up again, and go back into his house and talk to him.

When you talk to him again, he gives you the "DraxHack", which he says is his most powerful and useful hacked program. It's a key item that has a Navi Compressor Code in its description if you investigate it. However, it’s not just an everyday Navi Compressor Code… no, this code has the power to compress and expand EVERY NaviCust part in the game! Think of it as a universal remote or a skeleton key. Once you acquire this item, you’ll never need to have a long list of codes ever again!

You're having trouble as well?  I honestly don't know what could cause this issue. Perhaps it's the host?  It works for a lot of our regular users all of the time.  Hopefully someone can shed some light on it. Also, feel free to email up to two more submissions.

BLORP BLORP, SPAGHETTI-O's
Sent a new submission!

You probably won't use them since you'd have to go in and manually code new stuff (read: Trip's shop, Enker.EXE, the DraxHack, etc.) but they're really creative, maybe Trip could be some sort of cameo if you don't program him in!

Bumping thread to add something.

Greetings! I'm here to serve you the latest happenings on our game. We've entered our betatesting phase and are working really hard to find all the bugs. It's not easy, but we'll get it done.

The next thing I want to display is a brand new wallpaper depicting another scene from ch2 and will be shown in demo4. Enjoy.

Hello there, fans! Today is a very special day! Why?  Because our trailer for the fourth demo is finally finished! Demo4 will contain 2 full game chapters. You will get to play through all of the story from demo3, plus the entirety of chapter 2. This adds up to about 4 hours of gameplay. Not only that, but the bugs from the third demo have been fixed, the graphics have been improved, smoother gameplay on older computers and much more.

But who am I kidding? Just watch it already!

Amazing. Simply amazing. Keep up the great work guys!

Oh yeah, are there any plans for multiplayer connectivity? And if possible, you should be able to change your Navi's "skin" to look like a Norm Navi, or a Dark Navi, or Mr. Program!
Title: Re: Megaman Battle Network Chrono X!
Post by: giver336 on August 04, 2011, 11:41:26 PM
That is quite possible!  The only reason why we haven't made much multiplayer progress as of yet is because we would need a PC that runs 24/7 to host the server because most players don't know how to portfoward when they're hosting a session. Until we find that, we will focus on story.

I have new relevant information to post in this topic.

Hello there, fellow fans. It's time for another update on Chrono X!

What does this picture mean? Well, we, at Megadudes, are hosting another contest, only this time it's not the BBS kind. This famous person needs a new netnavi! That's right. MMBN CHRONO X will have Mr. Famous in our game with his own fighable netnavi! This time, however, we want you, the fans, to decide what his navi should look like. If you're interested, details are below.

Date:
The competition is held from August 26th, 2011 (YES, TODAY.) to Midnight October 2nd, 2011 (GMT+1).

Rules:
-ONLY ARTS!!! They can be in any style you want. For example, traditional, digital, or sprites! Use your imagination!

-Arts can be only submitted to the following e-mail:      "ziutek340@gmail.com " ONLY with the corresponding e-mail title: "Chrono X competition no1-Mr.Famous".

-If you've done artwork for us, and we used it, then you CAN'T participate.

-Each person can submit only ONE art.

-Arts not related to the topic and/or not having the proper e-mail title we gave you above, won't be viewed, and will be INSTANLTY DELETED.

-Any submissions given not within the specified time-frame will NOT be considered. If you live in radically different timezones, then please try to submit your work earlier.

Besides art/scan/photos of the art, please include the following:
-Name of the NetNavi
-Element
-Attacks/Attack Style

The best ones will be posted in an update at October, along with the winning art!

The best design will be sprited by our team's spriters and put into Chrono X as Mr.Famous's NetNavi! This is your chance to be "Famous" too!

Downloaded demo, it is great!  Keep up the good work and what do you mean Navi's "skin"  can you do that in story mode too?  If not I wish you could......

Thanks for playing our game.

No one from our team suggested anything about a Navi skin. That was an idea suggested by someone else that got deleted.

Well if there does come a time where this game has multiplayer it would be nice for having skins for player's Navis.

This next update is a small sample of Chrono X's PVP function. Max made this out of boredom while Max needed to await for some key sprites. This example shows how the process of networking works in Game Maker using 39dll. The network is as optimized as possible. (Be mindful that GameMaker sucks with online play). Any bugs you find are lag and not programming errors. After you tested it, please voice your opinion if you think it should be incorporated into demo4.

Setup:
1. Download Hamachi
2. Add player-to-be-versed in the same Hamachi network
3. Choose a player to be the "Host" and "Client" after successfully running the game.
4. The Client types the Host's HAMACHI IP and then clicks OK.
5. Have fun.

Welp, our previous webhost decided to cancel our service based on the fact that we didn't have at least 5 unique visitors in 30 days (lie)and allowed anonymous posting (also lie). So, we had no choice but to move to a new TEMPORARY webhost Site:

Site: http://mmbnchronox.0fees.net (http://mmbnchronox.0fees.net)

We will get a paid host in the near future, but this is here just so the fans can still check updates. The forum is not up-to-date however, as our latest backup was only from 8/14/2011. So if you've registered any accounts, or made any posts since then, they are lost.  We apologize for any inconveinence.

Bass.EXE will be in the game for sure (he was in demo3 as a secret boss), but as for the last two, I cannot say.

Hey guys, time for the results of the Mr. Famous contest + some info about the project.

Before I say the winner though, I'd just like to thank each and everyone of you guys who took the time to enter. There were a lot of good entries and it was really hard for us to decide on a winner.

That being said, the winner is...Sheri Young with the Navi Cactus Man.EXE!

(left is original design, right is official CX artwork)

While the idea of a Cactus themed Navi might seem silly at first, we believe that out of all of the Navi ideas submitted that Cactus Man was by far the most creative and well thought out Navi submitted. Congrats again to Sheri for winning, and to everyone else who didn't, we're sorry, but there is always next time so keep at it!

Now, time for some new screenshots:

This is true. Then again, we can always use some characteristics that cacti share as a justification for being Null Element. The jury is out on this one, though.

Wow, thanks for the review. Our team appreciates it. Only thing I would like to say is that you missed a new virus that was made (inside VendingMachineComp), but it's kind of hidden, so, it's forgivable.

But, yes, we've made quite a few people happy with the game's accuracy. After all, they need to feel like they're playing a BN game. *thumbs up*

Oh, look, another update from the Chrono X team!

What does this mean? Well, if you haven't guessed, then it means demo 4 will feature customizable controls! That's right! We found a way that doesn't take a whole lot of time to implement.

A few things to note, though.

First, you would have to set these controls BEFORE running the game. This is because the game would load your control scheme before starting it up. If the game doesn't detect this file for some reason, then the controls will default to the usual (Z,X,A,S, Enter, Backspace, and the arrow keys).

Second, do you remember that the in-game text says things like: "Press the Z button!"? Well, that dialogue WON'T be changed. This is so we don't overload the game's memory, and it would also cut down on development time. Hope this won't be a problem.
Title: Re: Megaman Battle Network Chrono X!
Post by: LlamaHombre on November 19, 2011, 11:29:35 PM
You could always say

"Press the A Button!"

And hope people know what you're talking about.
Title: Re: Megaman Battle Network Chrono X!
Post by: giver336 on November 20, 2011, 01:13:55 AM
Edit: Ah, I see what you mean.  That would provide consistency when you're looking at the control customization option. But yeah, you'd only see the dialogue through the GBA interpretation, not the controls you set.
Title: Re: Megaman Battle Network Chrono X!
Post by: KillerChair on November 21, 2011, 10:38:43 PM
Awesome :D
Not that there was anything wrong with your control setup.
But its nice to be able to do this.

I suppose I could give my thoughts.

The amp defusing section looked fairly difficult, almost greater than the ShipComps and The AquarumComps of BN5 and BN6, respectively. I of course haven't tried it out, though, so looks may be deceiving.

I'm very happy to see the MEMento system looking like that, especially with what appears to resemble a QuickCross and a FreezeCross. Could there be a potential chance of seeing some BN3 navis in the MEMento system?

My opinion on the FreezeMemento:

The charge shot may need a buff. I'm not too sure about that, either, it just seemed like it wasn't fighting too well against even Mettaurs. The Freeze shield seems to last for way too long, even if you only take 1 damage during that timeframe.

QuickMemento looks really fun from what I've seen.

DarkMega seems like a fun fight. I like the new boss music, although I'm not sure if it matches the style of previous Battle Network Boss songs.

Overall, I'm rather impressed. Keep up the good work.

EDIT: Forgot to mention CactusMan.

He's looking really nice! PirateMan looks nice too, but I'm really happy to see CactusMan's design.
Title: Re: Megaman Battle Network Chrono X!
Post by: giver336 on December 30, 2011, 01:35:45 AM
Each Memento has its own theme and playstyle. Freeze Memento is planned to be more defensive. Plus, the presentation doesn't cover every nuance that Freeze Memento has because of the limited time we had to put it together, and rehearse. So, there are little quirks outside of what you saw to make it more flexible.

The boss theme you heard was a DarkMega exclusive. We're re-doing the boss theme we have now, and the theme you heard for DarkMega will play during his fight.

In cooperation with us, EXE Net Center is hosting a contest!(February 14th-14th March 2012)!

Design your own NetNavi (and NetOp, if you want) for the RockMan.EXE universe. You'll need to detail their attacks, defenses, HP, appearance, and what their chip would do. You are free to redesign a Robot Master from the original series if you so choose, but make it unique! You are permitted to draw as many Navis as you wish.

The only physical prize is a copy of the MegaMan Battle Network Official Complete Works art book (the winner to be decided by EXE Net Center's staff).

More than that, if one of the designs will be good enough, there's chance it will be featured in our fangame!
Whether to award this prize and to whom it would go will be entirely up to the MegaDudes staff (us). To be considered for immortalization in the game, your entry must contain designs for both a NetNavi and NetOp. Original submissions will all be considered, but it would be nice to see a design for the old Robot Master GeminiMan, so that's an option too(just DON'T spam the contest with entires with GeminiMan only!)

Send all entries to exenetmail@gmail.com after February 14th, 2012 and before March 14th, 2012!!

That's all for today, good luck!

I see the phrases "DESIGN your own NetNavi" and "DETAIL their appearance", yet I also read "DRAW as many Navis as you wish". Do you have to submit artwork in order to be considered for the contest?
Title: Re: Megaman Battle Network Chrono X!
Post by: giver336 on February 10, 2012, 11:55:38 PM
Technically speaking, you don't HAVE to. But, I will say that a piece of artwork can only aid your contest entry.

It will allow you to interact with the Chrono X community on another level! Ladies and gentlemen, I bring to you: a built-in Chrono X online mode!

Welcome, Chrono X fans. By the time you read this, it might be May 11th, 2012, depending on where you live, but as of May 10th, Chrono X is officially 3 years old!

We had 3 presents we want to share on May 10th, however, it seems as though one of the gifts will arrive late. Still, that leaves us with two sets of gifts to show today.

The first is the revised Chrono X history, complete with a recording on the biggest events from Aug 2nd, 2011 to May 10th, 2012, done by me.

The second is two tracks released by Soulred12 that will be heard in the upcoming demo. These are two tracks you already heard, but now with using the new soundfont. One is original, and one is a revision.

http://www.mmbnchronox.com/CanYouBreathe.mp3 (http://www.mmbnchronox.com/CanYouBreathe.mp3)
http://www.mmbnchronox.com/CentralTownII.mp3 (http://www.mmbnchronox.com/CentralTownII.mp3)

Enjoy. The first is Dungeon#1's theme and the second one should be obvious.

Now, the third and final gift is the biggest one, but, like I said, it will have to come a bit later, so be patient, okay?

Here's to Chrono X's third year!

Did you got permission to use Higure-san's AirconMan.EXE!?

Airvent Theme is Raven's dungeon theme in Demo 3.2  What you're hearing is a new rendition of it.

And Higure-san is a freelancer artist for us, so we may use any/none of his concept arts.

Hello Everyone!

I have two items that I want to give today. The first is another piece of promotional art and the other is something downloadable! As I'm sure you can guess, we got another wallpaper for you fans to sink your teeth into. This time it's...!

1920 X 1080 (http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/3834/freezex1920x1080.png)
1366x768 (http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/8093/freezex1366x768.png)
1200x800 (http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/7278/freezex1200x800.png)

Yep, It's FreezeX this time. If you like it, use it as your desktop's wallpaper!

This second gift is something that MaxRock been working on from some time. Don't worry, He has still been working on Demo 4, but there were times where he couldn't. And when he couldn't he worked on this. You will all get to download and try a piece of it today! Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you... the first public test build of MegaMan Battle Network - Chrono X on the Android!

DOWNLOAD HERE: LINK (http://www.mediafire.com/?bbob2e358do3oha)

It's not as extensive as the PC demos, as it only has one battle included, but nevertheless, we still want you guys to test this and provide feedback.
The requirements to run it are Android 2.2 & up, 256mb of RAM, armv6/armv7/mips CPU + 17mb of free space.
Also, no worries. Like I wrote above, Chrono X's 4th Demo is almost done.

Hey there! It's Killer here with the latest information behind our game. In order to tie things over until the demo releases (which, if real-life circumstances permit, shouldn't be too far now), I decided to release a few screenshots showing just SOME of the improvements we've made. We have no doubt that the 4th demo will be superior in every way, especially since we are swapping out the placeholder graphics for newer, fresher ones! Don’t worry, doing this in particular doesn't hold up the programming side of things, but it’s always nice to see some new things now and again, right?

Anyway, time for some screenies!

Despite being busy with life,  MaxRock managed to get a few more cut-scenes done. This marks the latest one. Looks like Mr.Prog will give MegaMan a helpful item!

We finally managed to put in a fresh Internet Background! Like it? Just try not to feel too bad for the Mettaur.

That sure is a familiar sight, isn’t it?

Mayl’s got some new stuff in her room! Can you spot all the changes?

Wait... Totems!? A version 2 of two viruses!? Why so strong!? I don't want to spoil it, but this is a mandatory fight.  Should be fun for most of you~

Anyone remember these doors? There’s always some sort of nice prize behind one of these, but this one is a purple mystery data. Hmm…

That's all for today.  If you're checking the site, then you'll notice the counter is at 97% Woot!

My thoughts so far i LOVE IT!!! but some minor issue's like megaman move's slower then the GBA version... but i bet those get fixed very quickly (i was using the Pc demo btw i dont have a android phone)
Edit: oh the double post got removed lol

You are the first person to say that MegaMan moves any slower. Perhaps it was a problem with your PC? Private Message me your computer's specs and we'll see.

Not to worry, though. Demo 4 has been highly optimized to run smoother on older computers.

I have windows 7 and my games work fine and i do mean ALL my games i think its because i'm used to being able to move megaman at lighting quick speeds (most likely due to me pressing my keybored buttons at super fast rate that the game can't pick it up quickly...) but the game itself works smoothly

Edit: edits are in blue

Isnt better to wait now the full version of the game? Are you afraid if the game is forgotten?....

Cause demo1,2,3,4,5,6,7...i prefer wait the final version of the game. For myself, i prefer don't be frustrated by a demo who isnt finished or who isnt the last version of the part of the game.

Im happy for the new transformations but i want ask, how much time you need to finish the game now?

Also, a demo is not more than 3% of a game, here it's 5hours of playing?....

I know it's a RPG but i have a bad feeling about it...

Uhhh, we stated many times already, that 4th demo is the last major public release before the final version.
For now, the game contains 2 chapters in, so arround 4-5 hours of story-wise gameplay.
The demo is not 3% of full game, in fact, it is a lot more. The main engine is basically finished, and like mentioned above, two chapters are already programmed in (not counting other stuff, which is already done, yet not accesible in the 4th demo)
Why don't you download and try it out by yourself (or even check out the videos and material on the project's website)? The save file from it gonna work with the full release, so there is nothing to lose.

Sorry for the necrobump. But allow me to say something...
This game, this holy, blessed game. Is one of the best Megaman fan games ever, so much work was put into this game, and it's just great.
The gameplay is just so....perfect.
And the game itself, just has such a battle network feel to it.
That, and I just love the character designs, and the custom viruses and bosses and everything.
That, and the Megaman zero references. This game...is just so good and perfect.
I'm sure every body has heard egoraptors sequelitis about the castlevania games.
There are just some games where they are just like a bag of chips. You just garbage them down so quickly, and it just leaves you begging for more and unsatisfied. And there are some games that are like a dessert, which you eat slowly, and you take the time to savor each and every bite of great deliciousness. And then when you finish, you feel full, and satisfied.
And this game, this great game. Is a giant dessert. A giant dessert with a lot of demos.

Well, guys, we just recently released new website's design, and now it's time for a bit of an after-birthday present. This one will present a new page in Chrono X's story...

Art by Nico. Original Sketch by Midnite.

Ta-da! Here it is, our last and final gift that we wanted to release. What you see here is our promotional artwork for our game's 3rd Chapter! This is where the serious events in the story start happening and as such, it's one of our favorites!

Chapter 3 is filled with many cool and tense moments that I'm sure you'll get to enjoy when we show it off. Expect more exciting screenshots of new locations, viruses and characters! Can you guess who all the characters in this picture are? Bet you can't!

MegaMan will be fighting many, many enemies in this chapter... And I know we all want to see how he pulls through. That's all!

YESH! I cannot wait! also, please say that isnt a X.EXE over there. any ways, Im trying to say that this is great. I even (Re)got Mmbn 1 so i can compare the two, and i'm afraid to say.... THIS ONE IS BETTER! well, i wasnt afraid.  also...for guessing the chars, i say...
PirateMan, X, and CommandoMan. did i get 'em right?

Looking over the Image again, and noticing the weight on "X.exe"'s navi symbol, I think it's probably actually a Hardman.exe. If so, then I can probably safely say I prefer how he looks kinda like a slightly tougher Glass Cannon due to how it appears that he has light armour, and I prefer that X-like design over MM3's fat cement mixer.

I can guarantee the blue NetNavi on the group pic is not X, nor HardMan.EXE. Those which played the demo (and paid attention), know his name is Zeta.EXE (though his design got changed a bit since the release, as seen in the picture from update post).
Also, we already stated this few times, but "major" characters from other MegaMan series (like X, Zero) not gonna appear in Chrono X. This does not mean we won't have Navis based on Robot Masters, as we will, as PirateMan.EXE is example of it.

Raven.EXE is the black Navi with red eyes. I'm positive Game&Watcher asked about the one behind him, which in fact is not Jupiter.EXE.

Hello guys. I know you guys have all been aching to hear about how the Online Mode is progressing, so I'm here to deliver. But first, we need to do a bit of housekeeping.

1. First, I want to welcome our new team member, Mick Galbani. We even drew a nice, colored staff mugshot for him:
http://i.imgur.com/OxNKlYG.png (http://i.imgur.com/OxNKlYG.png)

He is very dedicated and skilled pixel artist - something we desperately need to finish this game. If you know any skilled pixel artists, remember to send them our way!

2. It's time to give the names of the characters shown in last update's picture. In order from left to right: Raven.EXE, Mystery Character(to be announced later), PirateMan.EXE, Zeta.EXE and CommandoMan.EXE. Someone manged to name them all, even the mystery character. Who named them? I won't tell!

3. Now for the main part of today's update - video showing Online Netbattle between MaxRock and I, as well as some of the menus . This is just showing the progress I made with implementing the Online Mode (as well as reducing the amount of lag you may occur as much as possible). There's also a hidden option in one of the menus, can you guys guess what it is? And no, this online component does NOT need Hamachi or any other type of VPN program to run.

You guys never cease to amaze me.

I just want you to know that your efforts aren't not ignored. I personally admire not just what you make (which is awesome), but the hard work you guys put into to it. Great job :)

Hey guys! I bet you're wondering: "Why were there no updates!? >:{ " Haha, well, I'll be straight with you. I had plans for a few updates, but things got held back. We want to add a cool new addition to online mode to increase its longevity. Not only that, but also Midnite and Mick are in the middle of remaking a few graphical assets that we felt needed to be improved. Expect to have something "old" get a much needed reworking!

But listen! I have more to tell you! We have some screenshots to show you and something nice to look forward to in the upcoming week!

And this right here sets the tone for the rest of the story. It looks like meeting Ms. Madd in the second chapter has its own set of consequences. *gulp*

Doesn't that person look familiar? He should! Make sure to observe the new mugshot for Lan Hikari! Do you think that one is better than the one in Demo 4?

Oh DAMN! That's a lot of viruses! And it appears our old friend from the first chapter is back.

If you played Battle Network 2 or 3, then this guy should ring a bell! That's right, we're bringing this old school virus back! Take a ride with me on the nostalgia train!

*whistles innocently*

Things to Note: Chrono X will be participating in this year's NCFC. That's Nintendo Community Fangame Convention for the uninformed. It's basically a conference where numerous developers show off their fan/indie games! This will be our second time coming back. I'll be giving you a link to our booth when it's ready, so when it's up, be sure to give us a vote. A friendly vote goes towards faster updates and the like!

It's come to our attention that a weird bug happens on certain computers that have Chrono X on them. Once you beat Raven, if you choose to save before you get MegaMan back, your game will freeze and you will be unable to save. An easy workaround is to wait until you get MegaMan back, THEN save. We currently have fixed this issue, so any of you users that haven't come across this bug, or have yet to play Demo 4, please keep that in mind. Demo 4.1 will be free of this bug entirely.

It's also a FANTASTIC idea to copy your savefile, and store it somewhere else. Go to CXDATA and copy your MMBNCX.sav and OLDSAV.back files to another folder/pendrive/wherever. If not to protect yourself against any bugs, but also in case something happens to your computer.

Hello, boys and girls! Despite the lack of updates about Chrono X in this topic, I can assure you the project is still going on strong.

I am cordially inviting you and any Mega Man fan you know to attend our project's fifth anniversary celebration stream. On it, we plan to reveal many, many new things about Chrono X.

New things that will be revealed:
-New bosses
-New Me.M.E.N.T.O. form
-RequestBBS contest winners
*This is the minimum amount that will be revealed

Date: May 16, 2014
Time:
Starts: 4:00PM EST (1600 hours GMT-5)
Ends: 6:30PM EST (1930 hours GMT-5)
Location: http://www.twitch.tv/mmbncx (http://www.twitch.tv/mmbncx)
Note: Times may not be exact

That's right, we'll be on twitch for this event! If you need help converting our timezone into yours, please use this: Convert! (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html)

If you go to the link around the time we put down, you should expect to see us talking to you guys live! This is our project's fifth birthday and many, many things will be revealed so we hope you guys can make it!

List of Events:
1.Presentation segment (15-20 minutes) [Check this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EadxwhMBhfo) for an idea on how it will be shown.]
2.Fan art showcase (5 minutes) [Read below]
3.Live Question and Answer (120 minutes)

Yes, right after we showcase the submissions and do the presentations, you can ask us questions about the game and our future development plans! Since our fifth anniversary is a pretty big deal, you can expect us to be more open about revealing game content. Always wanted to know what some of the upcoming bosses are? Maybe asking us at the event would be the time to ask! While we do plan to be more forthcoming with our answers, there are certain things we will keep a secret no matter what, so please ask the right questions  :)

Fanart Segment
Remember to keep sending in those fanarts! ANYONE who submits a piece of fanart will get it shown on the stream with some nice commentary by us. That should be it. Check the end of this paragraph if you still plan to submit your fanart and lost/forgot the details to do so. Those of you who did or don't plan to submit any can stop reading here. Here are the details for those who missed:

(Send to CXdevteam@gmail.com)
Subject: Birthday Stream Art Submission

Message: Give an overall idea of your piece and what you were going for. And maybe why you chose to represent that particular part of Chrono X.

Attach your art with the title and your name.

E.g., QuickFormParodyByKiller336

What can you pick?

You may pick anything and everything to do with Chrono X. The catch is, it must have been officially revealed by us, whether it be from the demos, updates we posted, Me.M.E.N.T.O. forms, or even the staff!

Your freedom extends that far. You can perform many takes on this. If you want to parody a scene from the demo (maybe do something with Lan smashing the speakers with a giant hammer), or even take characters and invent little scenarios! For example, what if Raven and RiffMan had a conversation on who looked cooler? Or maybe MegaMan decides to show off his new powers to GutsMan? It's up to you!

Type of Art: You can pretty much do this with whatever type of art is comfortable with you. The quality of the art isn't important, it's the fact that you want to make it.  smile

Make a comic, picture, sprite, or whatever you want. Really, go nuts!

What you can do to help:
And now, I have a little favor to ask of all of you. We want this event to have a relatively satisfying turnout, but we need your help to make that happen! Spread word about this on your social networks as May 16th draws closer. Post on YouTube, your own websites, forums, or whatever you got!  The more people we get, the more likely we are to reveal certain content. Just keep that in mind as an incentive. Let's work together on this!

You can confirm your attendance by commenting below or by joining the appropriate Facebook event group Confirm! (https://www.facebook.com/events/570884389675614/?ref=22). This is not necessary, but it lets us know about how many people we can guarantee to be there! You can of course reply to this topic instead.

That should be it! I hope to celebrate this milestone with you guys. Take care.

I tried checking the website for any sort of bug report thread but I wasn't able to locate one. I'm REALLY enjoying the game so far and I think you guys have been doing a fantastic job on it, but I seem to of found a bug which the Ringer band won't stop playing when you run into them for the first time. The music hasn't been playing in the demo this entire time as well and I was wondering if those things would be related?

I don't know what to be excited about more, your game, or you collaborating with MissEchelon by LP'ing BN3 (I can't view the thread now :c}  and it being on the LP archive. How you killed the "unwinnable" bass was awesome.
