Well, changed the title to something more simple so i can tell what the LR (Last Release) Is.

Don't use the same textures for all the floors and walls, I mean add something else and maybe some things because it looks really boring

Roger that. I'll change certain stuff, then. I found a NICE red texture, and i forgot to use it. Next time, i'll be sure to put it in.

Lighting, and pretty much what it says on the tin.

Basically, how bright a sector is. The darker, the less you can see at a distance.

In MM8BDM, it should be 255 to prevent oddness with the pallette.

Perfect timing - Im working on the map. Fixed it. HOWEVER, I will still let the interior of the mansion be dark.

Update: Added some things, fixed the lighting. Took me THAT long because I also had the interior part of the mansion done - However, a little mistake made me have to delete all the interior. Basically, the walls didnt became solid. I kept like, 1 hour trying to fix it, but then, I called for "screw it" and deleted the interior part. Anyways. The Screenshots have been Updated. Anything to say? Say it, your opinion is always welcome.

Wait, what? Were you trying to make the thing out of 1-sided linedefs? Walls should have empty space within them. You can make proper walls in a map like this by making a new sector and then deleting it.

It was exactly what I did. I knew that it was once I tried giving them textures. I deleted it all because it wouldnt fit. But anyways! I'll do more stuff tomorrow.

I don't think that there are pine tree in the garden... And, in a certain Touhou manga, you can see how HUGE the garden is. Try finding them and using for reference.

Alright. So I'll just increase the garden size. And the reason the trees are blue-white is because one of the lilys threw winter at them. there. =p
Also, If I increase the garden size, I'll have to increase the mansion size. I'll open a pool to choose if i should or not.

EDIT: Just one question though. Is that manga an official one? Or fan-made?

Well, I actually Did - I checked the Touhou Wikia, Looked at google for images of the mansion (And accidentally found ecchi), Paid attention to certain songs from touhou, And I actually saw that image you've put there. But I decided to Not do much things, considering I could end screwing up at certain Part. But I WILL re-make the Exterior of the mansion - Its like that just for now. I've read the Wiki, It had that Image in there. Somewhere it also said that the mansion was with a deep Red coloring from the inside - And since that Image in there is Black and White, I decided to make it all red. Also, I've decided that, while the poll is running, I'd re-make the exterior of the mansion, making it look a little bit better, other than just that red square.

A problem of major proportions has appeared.

My monitor screen has a certain button to adjust the contrast. Some months ago, that button went crazy and just refused to stop "pressing itself", showing a huge contrast square in the screen. This happened again. I then Decided to use my feet to keep pressing the Exit button of the monitor(I can put my feet behind my neck) for the contrast box not to appear. I defeated Gamma, And took my feet off the exit button. The contrast button was gone. I then went to the boss rush, defeated DocRobot with buster only, and when I got to the metool daddy, The contrast stuff popped up again. I then Slammed my hand in the monitor, and kept doing so. BUT, I accidentally hit my finger on the computer's cooler(It hurt A LOT. Im still feeling it while i write this.). After shouting in pain, I noticed the computer was more silent. I looked at the cooler and it stopped. I turned the computer off and messed with the cooler, and found one of its "wings" broke. I took it off and turned the computer back on, and an INSANELY LOUD NOISE kept coming from the cooler. I got afraid and turned it off again. (Im at my laptop atm.)
So, prolly what will happen:
The map will prolly be released later. Im prolly getting grounded for a LONG time.
I fear the computer might explode all of a sudden.
Im not getting the cellphone I wanted for Birthday.
So, when stuff is fixed, i'll go back at making the map. Sorry for this.

Yikes. That aint good...

As for the cooling fan... the removal of the wing was probably the cause of the mega-loud noise. Trust me.

The wind flow on the fan with the broken wing is making it buzz loudly, right?
Dad had a fan that sounded like a jet taking off when it was turned on.

Well i can assure you the sound's not gonna cause the computer to explode. However, about your contrast button... Only thing I can suggest is take it to a repair-shop or get a new one.

I knew it wasnt going to explode, I just wont mess it until my father arrives. He studied computers and overall machine-stuff, he'll know what to do.

Alright, AWESOME news.

1 - My father got two new collers for the computer.
2 - Im STILL allowed to use the computer.
3 - I got my cellphone. Yay.

I got new ideas for the map design. I will reduce the ceiling of the mansion, because from the inside its WAY too big. Also, I feel kinda happy that the first design had to be deleted - One of my ideas was to make it more mansion-like from the inside. The original idea was just a freaking maze. Now It'll be more mansion like (the way it should be in the first place.) I will also change the textures of the mansion's outside, increase the size of the mansion AND the garden, and prolly replace some of the "things".

You could of just used to "Make new sector" tool...

Update: Increased size of mansion and garden, removed most of the player spawning points(will re-place when the map is finished), placed some things, changed the outside colour of the mansion, changed the form of the mansion itself, did NOT reduced ceiling size, made some gates, etc. Just check the screenshots, you'll understand.
Any suggestion, critiscism, anything? Send'em in, I'll be glad to hear your opinion.

Gammah (have to put an H on or misspell it purposely to make it not show up as Auto.) shows up as Auto when spelled correctly. Don't know how it works.

By the way, use upper unpegged for lowered ceilings and lower unpegged for raised floors.

Not lowering or raising (unless you want to make the platform look like it's growing), but basically the sides of a height difference need those to look proper.

Progress Report -
-Did what the guy there said about lower unpegged and upper unpegged, but noticed nothing.
-Started making the inside part of the mansion(45% done)

Making the inside part of the mansion took me longer than it should..(1 hour and 30 mins to be exact.) That was because I had some problems with textures, that I fixed. Then, I made some more stuff and put in the textures, just to notice I was using the wrong one. Re-placed them all. Fixed some of the places I forgot(didnt notice any other one, reall) And added some lanterns at certain places. Tomorrow I will continue.

To be honest, it looks pretty terrible for a DM map!

Aside from looking pretty bad (use more textures, really), there seems to be only one path to everything, plus all the corridors are small as hell. These are both two bad things for DM.

However, for Robenza, the gameplay seems much more fit than the normal maps. After all, the tight corridors and lack of paths makes it easier to ambush and corner people. So there's that.

I used enough textures already, in my opinion. And yes, I know its bad for DM. I made it thinking about roboenza. I've only put the DM weapons in there In case someone wanted to use it for deathmatch or any other mode that doesnt give you weapons at the beggining.
As I said and will repeat - I made the map thinking about roboenza.

But if you don't want to use any more textures, you should probably reuse some of the others just to keep the interior from looking so plain and same-y.

I've changed the textures from the inside depending on what section they were in. I've put the most beautiful textures(in my opinion) after the beggining, and I put some that I didnt think were SO great in the beggining. I was restricted to only-red textures in the interior.

Alright... That was the beta test. Oy. I will fix the following -

The gates that are impassable;
The mansion entrance, that people complained about;
The window, that people also complained about;
The skybox.

I will do it and I will re-upload it. I'll be sure to fix these things, that was what people most complained about.

Some Changes. Minor, But people actually complained about the stuff, I had to make these changes.

1 - Reduced non-needed space on the Garden
2 - Fixed the fences at the outside. They're ugly, but now you can get past them...
3 - Made Something to resemble a door at the entrance.

Didnt fixed Skybox nor the window. Everytime I tryed fixing the window it just screwed up all the mansion, So decided not to. Didnt made skybox because I have no idea how to.
Im not messing with this map anymore - Its going to be like that. I might re-make it in the future If I want to do so, but not now.

The basement will be truly fitting for a DM... Should be plain and have plenty space to move. Perhaps should be as wide as Topman map or in the same style as Sparkman map

Yea, had to change the 20,000 unit fall.  :shock:   Was funny as hell, but after I went to go make a coffee and hadn't landed yet, I altered it.  :mrgreen:

Well, Hong Meiling and the re-make of the SDMMAN is being made. Because... SDMMAN will use custom textures. (Thanks KY for helping me with them.)
I'll pretty much do textures for like... everything. o.o just not the grass... because TOPGRA1 is fine for me. Here are 5 of the textures I made so far:

When im done with all of them, I'll release a sprite sheet for it. (If I can figure how to exactly do it...)

Mokou was fixed. She doesn't bounce around anymore, and the placement of her mouth was fixed in one of the rotations. Get her again!

The fixes were:

Hong:
1 - Change in the attack animation
2 - Offset correction so she doesnt bounce around while moving
3 - adjusting the colour on the hat
4 - Changing her mouth
5 - Changing her hat

I think that, if there's something to fix, it's something Minor that I didn't notice.

Shikieiki
1 - Change in the offsets in certain animations
2 - Changing the position of her mouth in a certain animation

And that was it.

VGS is/has putting/already put boobs in his Centaurwoman skin, and last I checked, even in the manga, Centaurwoman lacked boobs.

In seriousness, I like the map, and you could submit it to CSCM like this. Main suggestion is: Add "Block Monsters" to the linedefs to keep bots from walking into pits. The only issues I have are with deathmatch placements; weapon selection is kind of bland (sure, it's flame processing, but all fire/bomb weapons get old) - Crystal Eye, metal blades, etc. SOMETHING to spice it up. The other is energy placements - Having 3 small weapon/life energies on a single step makes it hard to separate them (for different weapons etc.) and the traditional way to go is to place one life and weapon energy on each step. (example: Star Man's stage by magnet missiles) Layout otherwise looks fine.
