With the guidance of King Yamato, I decided to make this Class Expansion.
Bear in mind that I have no programming skills, but I will try. ;)
Screenshots will be shown when significant progress is being made.
BLIZZARD MAN (HP -)
*Main attack: Blizzard Ball*
Blizzard Man launches himself forward, ramming opponents. He is invulnerable but can't cancel.
*Alternate attack: Blizzard Attack*
Blizzard Man summons snowflakes randomly. It's great when surrounded, but he becomes stunned for a time.
CENTAUR MAN (Speed + | HP -)
*Main attack: Centaur Buster*
Centaur Man fires his buster. Each round is split when hits a wall, but the damage is split as well.
*Alternate attack: Centaur Flash*
Centaur Man distorts the space around him. A powerful weapon but with a slow fire rate.
FLAME MAN (Average status)
*Main attack: Flame Buster*
Flame Man fires his buster. The rounds are slower but stronger.
*Alternate attack: Flame Blast*
Flame Man burst fire pillars on the ground in a row.
KNIGHT MAN (HP + | Speed -)
*Main attack: Knight Crush*
Knight Man attacks with his mace ball. His shield is used as well, but not when attacking.
*Alternate attack: N/A*
PLANT MAN (Average status)
*Main attack: Plant Buster*
Plant Man fires his buster. The rounds are quicker but weaker.
*Alternate attack: Plant Barrier*
Plant Man summons an energy barrier. He is able to launch it as well.
TOMAHAWK MAN (Speed + | HP -)
*Main attack: Silver Tomahawk*
Tomahawk Man throws his battleaxe. It's heavy-hitting but the fire rate is toned down.
*Alternate attack: Tomahawk Feather*
Tomahawk Man flings feathers from his headdress. It's weak but multiple.
WIND MAN (HP + | Speed -)
*Main attack: Wind Gyro*
Wind Man creates a pair of Gyros which zig-zag from side to side.
*Alternate attack: Wind Hover*
Wind Man hovers quickly for a limited time.
YAMATO MAN (HP + | Speed -)
*Main attack: Yamato Spear*
Yamato Man launches his speartips. They are limited but deal more damage.
*Alternate attack: Yamato Shred*
Yamato Man spins his spear, ripping anyone in the way.
-
I started some work on Blizzard and Flame a while ago. Should I continue (need sprites though)?
-
Why not make Wind Man's main attack be his 2 gyros, and his altfire be the sucking you in?
-
@MagnetMan497: Sure. PM me your progress, I have the sprites.
@Gummywormz: Gyro cancelling, that's why.
-
may I do plant man?
as for gyro cancelling, just make a custom weapon
-
Ok. I'll PM you them when I finish. Then you can show me the sprites and I can code them into the weapon.
-
may I do plant man?

Sure, you can do Plant Man. But remember that his Plant Barrier is not like the one in the game - it's more of a Star Crash.
Also I don't know about the Gyros... I mean, that's Gyro Man's weapon. But Wind Storm pushes people to pits... I don't know what to do.
@MagnetMan497: Okidoki.
-
I meant the gyros wind man actually fires. He fires two of them, one above the other, and they go in a wave pattern.
-

Hmm... if you can pull it off, I'd like to see it. Horizontally.
-
as in the mm8bdm star hugging one or the actual mm5 one? (I was expecting it to be more like leaf sheild >.>)
also, you dont even have to use gyro's, just use the sprites from mm6 for his attack.

The actual MM5 one (the leaf-shield-like).
EDIT: Here. That will help. http://www.sprites-inc.co.uk/files/Classic/MM6/Boss/8Boss/
-
okidoki, it will be done in a hour or 2 (could you PM me his buster sprites?)
-

PM'd them. ;)
-
I was going to say "didn't somebody else start this?" and I realized it was MagnetMan who is clearly ok with it. Good luck, gentlemen. The robot masters from MM6 are some of my favorites, so I'll be watching closely.
-
If no one else really wants to, can I try and make Knightman?
I like him.
-

I like him.
Sure, try it! The only Robot Master I haven't did the HUD is this same Knight Man, though. I'll do the HUD.
-
yayz I am useful again. will pm progress...
tommarow
-
Knight Man's HUD is done. Now all MM6 Robot Masters have their own HUDs.
-
Hmm...I'm not entirely comfortable with y'all doin' this, 'cause I'm unsure on the level of skill....But whatever. Good luck.
-
So do we have 3 different teams working on the same project? Or are you guys releasing this seperatly?
Either way it's a bit confusing :/
-
Oh the irony. We split to reduce confusion and more was caused by people making more topics!
-
Everything is being done to help you people.
I love the Classes MOD, so why wouldn't I? ;)
-
But still, we could merge the topics.
-
If the MM5 topic is separated, this one is too.
-
Okay well you guys have fun! I might do a few classes but I have enough to do as it stands.
-

Thank you for the permission given.
Edit: I will try to start making Centaur Man tonight.
-
...I only just noticed it says Megaman 6 class expansion, not "Megaman & Class."
-
did you ever fix the flower sheild so it will stop when its out of ammo? also I forgot to speed up plantman's rate of fire
-

Everything is fixed. PM'd back to you.
-
Yeah, I need Blizzard's hud and ball sprites.
-
I meant the gyros wind man actually fires. He fires two of them, one above the other, and they go in a wave pattern.
Hmm... if you can pull it off, I'd like to see it. Horizontally.
I am no decorate coder! :ugeek: It was a suggestion, but maybe I can figure something out.
-
Okay... Centaur Man is done. :geek:
Next RM: Yamato Man.
-
How balanced is he?
-
Plant Man should have a medic role for teamgames!
His Plant Barrier should sloooowly heal himself as well as other FRIENDLY players that are standing nearby. However, it should use up ammo, and his ammo bar should recharge a bit slowly so he can't heal abuse.
-
@Korby: He plays almost exactly as his MM6 counterpart.
@SmashBroPlusB: Plant Man plays similarly as his MM6 counterpart as well.
-

Actually I suggested a eddie class for that, mainfire is a weak buster and alt fire creates either big or small energy, big or small health, or even tanks
-

If you have classes that play EXACTLY like in the games... expect a lot of boring classes.
Shadow Man's shurikens don't stop and return, and he gets the Muramasa! Plus he's invisible! Cut Man can jump high and has a melee! Elec Man gets a giant thunder strike!
The point is, if you have classes the same as in the game, then all Plant Man will do is run, jump, and throw shields. It's as bad as Wood Man... no wait. It's worse than Wood Man. At least Wood Man made leaves fall down from the ceiling. With Plant Man, it's just a freakin' shield.
I'm saying that you should think of classes as more than just "representations of their game counterparts".

Is possible to program Centaur walking sound?
-
Is possible to program Centaur walking sound?
Yup. Use his sound on "see" states, if possible, Chimera. Would be cool, and would also help you to notice Centy from a distance.

The sound is already included on the MM8BDM?

No, Try google it!
This sound is about 1:48. Capture it
-
I gave permission to King Yamato and he made Yamato Man.
Also, Centaur Man and Plant Man are tweaked now. ;)
EDIT: Arkman finished Knight Man as well. It's half of them already done!
-
Would you mind if I tested them?
-
I guess it's not a problem...
I'll PM you.
-
Knightman seems fine, however, when I died and a Crusher was still out, it continued to come back to me when I respawned. Also, he should have the crusher on his buster in his HUD.
Plantman is rather buggy. Running over a weapon whilst firing gets rid of his weapon. His HUD should be something different, and be shiny. He gets a leaf-shield clone for his altfire? Lame.
Centaurman could use an all around buff. His Centaur Flash is pretty much useless, and his buster has low damage, even if it shotguns.
Yamatoman is my favorite, though his primary fire far trumps his chainsaw in terms of damage. Perhaps reverse the damage but make the chainsaw use ammo instead of Yamato Spear? Also, you might wanna remove that icon.
-

HEY! I worked very lazily on that altfire  but yeah the leaf sheild clone was the best possible choice cause, his buster is faster and weaker than megaman's, and giving him the plant barrier thats already in mm8bdm would make for a very long match, especially if it kept his defensive ability. But when it all comes down to it, arent leaf sheild, star crash, and plant barrier clones of each other to begin with (original owner wise)?
-

Hmm... haven't noticed this bug. Also, his shield it's already large, so if I put the mace ball it would block the view.

To be honest, I'm not sure if I should stick them to their in-game counterparts or not...
Centaurman could use an all around buff. His Centaur Flash is pretty much useless, and his buster has low damage, even if it shotguns.
His Centaur Flash does the same as the MM8BDM counterpart and stuns everyone in its radius. Also, King Yamato asked me to lower the damage of his buster because he thought it as overpower.
Yamatoman is my favorite, though his primary fire far trumps his chainsaw in terms of damage. Perhaps reverse the damage but make the chainsaw use ammo instead of Yamato Spear? Also, you might wanna remove that icon.
King Yamato thought of his alternate being a "repel", an "out-of-my-way" weapon more than a damager. By the way, it doesn't even uses ammo.
Anyway, I'll considerate your point of view on these. :geek:

Make it smaller, perhaps.

You should figure it out, lest he become Wood Man. Also, what's with the rapid fire buster anyway?
Centaurman could use an all around buff. His Centaur Flash is pretty much useless, and his buster has low damage, even if it shotguns.

Centaur Flash doesn't stun. The buster is really weak at the moment, unless you're going for direct hits.

A chainsaw is a chainsaw. However, that doesn't change the fact that Yamato Spear kills way faster than it, so why use the chainsaw?
Anyway, I'll considerate your point of view on these. :geek:
-
@ Korby
Centaurman was really OP with normal buster shots that spread. It killed on 2 direct hits, and on most direct hits the blast from them hits the target too. Centaur Flash's main use is stunning, in which it really works. I don't see what's the problem there.
Yamatoman's Yamato Spear is very limited to keep spamming them. The altfire's just an alternate attack if they are close or if you are out of ammo.
One of Yamato Spear's in game trait was it getting used way fast. I kept it that way and it fits the role of primary fire.
There wasn't even going to be an altfire for him.
We should leave balance issues until all are done.
-
You don't have to make them normal buster shots, just make them slightly more powerful!
In a game about ranged combat, if a melee is weak, "you gonna die."
-
Trust me, it actually was more powerful, it raped everything alive and respawning. And it's meant to be used with the Centaur Flash, making it stun and easy clear hitting.
Yamato's altfire is situational like Gutspunch and the purpose is to use Yamato Spears until you run out and not be helpless.
Again, I'll request the drop of balancing subject until all classes are done and we can compare them all.
-

Centaurman: Just have its projectile have Death and XDeath. In Death it Splits, in XDeath it just disappears. There, it won't be OP unless a fool stands close to the wall by then.
Yamatoman: Have two attacks like this: the first throws the spear head, piercing through enemies and dropping as a pickup when hitting ceiling, wall or floor. The second spins his spear, shooting in a spread pattern like Topman's tops. However both requires the spearhead in the inventory, but the second should be useable as melee if the spearhead is not attached.

Tsuki, no offense, but the weapons are already done.
No more major DECORATE stuff.
-
Hey Tsuki, while you're in the Projects subforum, mind helping Yellow Devil out with Guts Punch?

Ark's already given me the way for Gutspunch, unless it doesn't work your help won't be necessary Tsuki. Thanks for the consideration, however.

Alright. Just ring me if anything
Ring ring ring ring ring ring BANANA PHONE!

A'ight... now Plant Man and Centaur Man are fixed for good, I hope. :geek:
Next Robot Master: Wind Man.
That means only Tomahawk Man will be untouched... yet. If no one volunteers to make him, I'll do as well.
-
Firstly, you need Tomahawkman "throwing feathers" sprites and rotation.
-
It would be neat if you made him do his short hop in stead of running, but still walk normally. but that would probably annoy people. :?
-
Firstly, you need Tomahawkman "throwing feathers" sprites and rotation.
I know right? I made them already, as Wind Man's "Gyros". ;)
-
So, It's telling me Blizzard Man's base sprite is too big. What do I do?
-
replace the first spawn frame with megaman's or TNT1
-
Wind Man is finished.
Magnetman497 lost his interest on Blizzard, so the ice titan will be the next. :geek:
-
how complete is he? I am willing to finish him off.

I refer specifically to these sprites...
1____2____3_____4_____5_____6______7_____8_____9
(http://www.sprites-inc.co.uk/files/Classic/MM6/Boss/8Boss/mm6_tomahawkman.gif)
Sprites number 2, 3, 4 and 5
-
@FCx
It's ACS... :?
-
how complete is he? I am willing to finish him off.
All coded. The sprites are pissing me off.
-
@FCx
It's ACS... :?
Maybe not. When you go register the class, apparently you can add animations or remove them. I just don't know how. :S
-
I sent him a PM with instructions ;)
You can code it in Decorate semi-easily but it's pretty buggy if you do.
-
How come YD's thread got moved, but this one didn't?
CALLING ALL MODERATORS. :geek:
-
I think it's because of how large his project has gotten, with more custom sprites and a very wide variety of classes.
-
UPDATE: Tomahawk Man is done. :geek:
Waiting for Blizzard Man and Flame Man.
-
I am still trying to find a way to get you Blizzardman, have you tried to download since last time?
-
Hmm... it's my computer alright. King Yamato's downloaded it without problems.
Also, the coding is as scrambled as an omelette. Can you fix it, please?
-
scrambled in what way? litterally broken? or did my naming conventions and stuff make it impossible to convert?
-
Arkman's Blizzard and Flameman:
http://www.mediafire.com/?16g9505zla1g2co (http://www.mediafire.com/?16g9505zla1g2co)
-
What...? I was doing Flameman.
-
I just didn't change the filename ignore that.
-
@arkman - The coding is quite messed up. It's hard to find what each part does.
@Tsuki - Thanks for the help.
@Magnet - How is Flame Man going, by the way?
-
NEEDED double post - Blizzard Man is done! Now the only thing that's left is MagnetMan497's Flame Man.
-
Huh... if this is finished by the end of the week I'll put it in with MM2 for a super-release!
-
I still think Plant Man should have a Drop Shield-esque Plant Barrier that slowly heals teammates around him.
It's better than having a nerfed Wood Man clone, to say the least.
EDIT: My reasoning. FROM PAGE FOUR.
@SmashBroPlusB: Plant Man plays similarly as his MM6 counterpart as well.

Unless it is done like Rockman Power Battle & Fighters, where they wre slightly more complicated. Example: Plantman could shoot normal buster shots and also drop a seed from his buster, that then grows into a small flower that shoots at you. Iceman could summon a cloud that unleashed snowflakes that froze you. Quickman had his Super Quick Tackle, and so on.
Wanting to make it ALL like the mainstream games or giving it powers that can be way too powerfull ISN'T the way.
Other examples:
Gutsman could Tackle
Shadowman could ride a fire breathing frog
Centaurman had Centaur Arrow (rips through)
Pharaohman could float above the ground and teleport (in an interesting fashion)
-
Everything will be okay... I promise.
-
I do like the idea of summoning a flower that shoots other players, but it will target teammates too
-
I do like the idea of summoning a flower that shoots other players, but it will target teammates too
Fix for that: don't give all moster flags (like ISMONSTER, which will promptly give it monster status and allow unwilling respawn), give it +MISSILE and +FRIENDLY.
There ya go.
-
The_Broker gently conceded us permission to use his Blizzard Man, Centaur Man and Wind Man (fixed) skins.
Let's hit it on the turbo boosters! ;)
EDIT: Please, if someone can contact MagnetMan497, do it so. I need to know how Flame Man is doing.
-
Everything will be okay... I promise.
Look, I know everything's supposed to be top-secret, but seriously, WHAT THE FECK DOES PLANT MAN DO.
How is a nerfed Wood Man "okay"? At least, that's what the front page says he is.
-
Bleh.
He's not a copy of Woodman.
And that change was many and many weeks ago.
-
Due to MagnetMan497 not answering, I will personally make Flame Man.
After that, the expansion will be pratically done. :geek:
-
Everything is done and ready by now! :geek:
-
Is it balanced?
-
Obviously. Just waiting YD to launch it. :geek:
