Ok so its a tourney where you can only be gravityman on classes and only be on heatmans stage.
Lets cut the bullcrap here.
This idea is stupid.I admit.so I will make it a 2vs2 classes tourney!
Any class.Any stage.
So far we have 16/16 people.WE SHALL BEGIN SOON!
You must put down your ingame name,timezone,yaddah yaddah yaddah.

actually BODIES EVERYWHERE would be more fitting, but I kinda like the idea, Heat man has some instadeath stuff, but if you stay on the inside, it is more or less safe. It could be funny to watch anyway.

Heck, the new class wad is comin' out soon, so I'd say this topic shouldn't have been here in the first place.
Okay, that maybe a bit harsh on my last statement but I'll add one last comment.

As fun as this sounds, this is more or less a luck based tourney and not a tourney to be taken seriously at all . Skill based tourneys are more favorable.

But as for this tournament, did you only make this just because you saw this happened at the tdm classes server? It's an interesting concept, but I guess you should change the purpose to include all classes. Well, that's when all the classes are made, but it would be interesting to see which classes are superior.
Imagine this: a tournament where a team of 3-4 people choose 2 classes and try to see which pair of classes can frag the best. People can copy other combinations and we get to see just well everyone does with just one class. 2 Needle men and 1 hard man! A team of Top men vs a team of gravity men & magnet men! Pick your combination wisely and watch out for weaknesses! Ladies and gents, I bring you the MM8BDM classes tournament!

Far from endorsing an all Gravity Man Tournament, I would prefer him removed from classes altogether.

Some classes are definitely more fun to play then others (which comes down to personal preference). And some also seem to be superior... So I anticipate a few complaints along the lines of, "That was cheap", "No fair!", "That doesn't take skill", etc.. In spite of all this, a classes tournament does sound like fun. I'll enter with the intent to have a good time and take the fact that a FUN class won't necessarily be a winning (not a Charlie Sheen reference) class. The 2v2 aspect is interesting too. Some classes could be geared towards support, so there's potential here for teamwork for those who are willing to work together.

If I entered just to win, I might feel a little dirty for some of the cheaper tactics I have learned to exploit... So I'll just try to have fun  :)

In any case, Gravity Man doesn't just boil down to a matter of balance (or lack thereof) at this point, but he is NOT FUN to fight against. So if he is banned from the tourney (assuming it's taking place before the update), then count me in.

Proved wrong on half of my statement. The first idea of Gravity Man only wouldn't go far, but this with all other classes will. I will admit I have been proven wrong (partly).

Again, it's about skill and how well you can work together with someone. Randomization is like saying Rawk Hawk can't join a tournament because he's good at the game.

I'm a little surprised at the number of drop-outs in response to random teams. There are plenty of opportunities to play with people we already know OUTSIDE of the tourney, so what's the big deal?

I viewed it as an opportunity to work with somebody that I normally wouldn't play with. But I guess everyone has a reason for their preference. I won't judge.

Anyhow, I don't know anyone well enough from the list of participants to have an actual preference myself (assuming we're supposed to be making choices). I'm open to whoever is in this to try and have fun and display an at least somewhat dignified level of respect & sportsmanship at the same time.

Tomorrow I am not sure about, but Tuesday might be possible for the match. That will mostly depend on whenever Megaquint gets on. We're not in contact with each other except ingame.

In that case, it would be best if either Obelisk or Bikdark can contact me for a match time. I think Quint played late at night a few times, so I guess it really depends on when the other two are available. Next available chance is after I get home from school, which is around 2 PM CST. I do not get ready for work until around 5:30 PM, so the range for Monday is either 3 to 4-4:30 PM (preferably), or from 10:30-11 PM to maybe 12-1 AM. Tuesday will likely be the day if the match can't be done Monday, as I have school from 2 PM to 5 PM, and nothing else going on that I am aware of.

If you beat them, you'll likely have to face Quint and me. Maybe not something to be scared about, but our friendship is VERY strong...sometimes matches boil down to whichever team members trust each other better than the other team. I agree with Tails, but still participate.
Regardless of these many versions, this concept of classes is fundamentally flawed.
However, this is just a 'for fun' tournament.
So, it really doesn't matter how unbalanced things are.

Blizzard Bowl is fixed on the next version, sorry for that.
It won't OHKO anymore, but it will do more than half of lifebar damage, so, still... watch out for that bowling ball.

Personally, I think this tournament wouldn't work at all.  It's obvious the classes aren't balanced, so you'd have people using cheap classes, then arguments on how those people shouldn't advance because they were cheating and so on and so on.

I, for one, am not happy that classes are still being played. I missed some great chances to do four-teams because I didn't have the classes wad. I even got so desparate for four teams that I joined an empty Team Possession server in England (where my ping is 150-200 ms), just to hope for a game.

I, for one, am not happy that roboenza is still being played. I missed some great chances to play TLMS because everyone was there. I didn't get desparate for it, so I wait for a Team LMS server Anywhere, just to hope for a game.

Classes have grown too large.  It was better when there were just the MM3 classes.  It was a bit more balanced.  Balancing things is hard and it's even harder to make everybody happy.  By adding more and more classes, it just becomes that much harder to balance it and that much harder to make people happy.

As for roboenza, I like it because it is a more casual stress-free time killer.  Plus, it's easier to just hop in and play since rounds usually don't last too long.  That's also why I like a good old free for all deathmatch.

There isn't anything you could really have done to change that.
This really isn't a dive against classes since I'm sure that everyone has at least one game type that they don't like.

(We're going a bit off-topic, but I wanted to say something anyway.)

The truth is, not every single product will please every single person every single time. Classes would have still remained fun for me if it wasn't for the fact Gravity Man is hard to balance. As a Gyro Man main, v4a is an uphill battle every time, because Gyroman cannot launch his attacks while in the air (yet Alien can). The Gravity Man glitch that forces players to hover along the ground counts as being in the air. It is true that I could fly back down to the ground, but once I jump again, I lose the ability to shoot until I fly back down again. It is for this reason that I have stopped playing Classes. It's no fun if you can't play as your favorite class (I chose Gyro because he's the closest to how Tails plays). As for Gemini Man...let's just say the clones get murdered easily.  :(

I didn't drop out of the tourney because I don't like the Classes mod. I love classes. They're rough around the edges, but fun.

I don't have the time/patience to wait for it to get started. My schedule has been ridiculous lately. When the matches actually do take place, it's less then likely it'll be on a time-frame that works for me.

In all honesty, I don't think the community needs as many tournaments as there is going on now.
